Captain Ben Monroe has an a$$ made for touching,
And a panty-dropping smile.
He's also my best friend's younger brother.
And the worst mistake of my life.

Or maybe the best.
It's hard to tell.

He was a blight on my childhood.
A thorn in my side.
And not nearly as delicious as he looks now,
Standing on my doorstep,
Needing a place to stay.
Surprise Roommate!

I didn’t expect to find him naked in my kitchen.
I didn't expect him to worm his way into my heart,
And sisters before misters,
I wasn’t supposed to look, let alone touch.
Oops!

So what happens between us now?

Soldier boy is hot and hilarious best friend’s younger brother romance full of snark, banter, and dirty talk. It features a studly British soldier, an American doctor, a gas-huffing cat, a decades old goldfish murder mystery, heart, humour, and enough steam to blow your socks off!

It’s not a good day for me, 2 for 2 bombs. What is it with the ‘’? U can’t use proper punctuation in a book??? That got me in a bad mood right away. The writing isn’t bad but uninteresting. Nothing to engage me. Hot girl meets hot guy. They’re gonna shag. The end.

Quite light and witty this one, featuring a best friend's brother who's an SAS soldier and a Dr.

It seemed to jump ahead a bit towards the end, I though I'd skipped a bit actually, but it was enjoyable and an easy read that didn't take itself too seriously.

Complete story, available on ku.

I didn't think Donna Alam could make me fall in love with anyone other than a Scotsman, but with her latest super hot read Soldier Boy, I'm head over heels for the divine British Special Forces hottie, Captain Ben Monroe!

If the cover of this book doesn't reel you in, because hellooo Smoulder Alert, then from the very first page Donna's signature dirty wit, hilarious banter and scorching hot sex scenes will have you tearing through this steamy RomCom in one sitting!

Soldier Boy is a fresh take on the unrequited love of youth, complete with adolescent torment and goldfish murder!
Where normally we see the younger girl fawning doe eyed over her bestie's older brother, here it's the delicious Ben who has had a thing for his older sisters' bestie since they were kids, and the lovely Penny has been the stand out star of his sexual fantasies.
Fantasies he's now ready to make into X-rated realities!!

Penny or Nell, is a wonderful character, you can't help but love her and feel her pain!
Still re-establishing herself following the end of a long relationship and left holding the mortgage baby, she has little time for men let alone a life, and when she has Ben land on her doorstep as an unexpected "lodger" she's not ready for the chemistry to erupt between them, and we're talking eruption to rival a volcanic blast!
These two are seriously HOT together, and when they're not verbally sparing they're singeing the sheets!

It wouldn't be a Donna Alam tale without a cameo from one of her previous characters, and it's as if she thought of me when she revisited the delectable Dr Pussy, my dream man Lord Will Travers! It's always a pleasure to have him grace her pages!!

As the action heats up, Ben faces a tough reality, can he leave the lovely Doctor behind and return to his Army life? There's more going on here than meets the eye and a superb plot twist makes for a nail biting conclusion!
I absolutely LOVED this story and it's easily overtaken all my previous reads to be my No.1 RomCom hit of this year and well worth more than 5 stars!

Deliciously HOT

OMG I LOVED THIS STORY!! As my first read from this author, I am officially addicted to her work! Everything, from the story, to the writing, to the characters, was just wonderful. I'm going to attempt to put into words how much I love this story, but I doubt I'll be able to do it justice!

I was hooked on this story from the first page. Penny had me in tears laughing at her interactions with the other characters and her internal dialogue. Add in Ben and I was in stitches for most of the book!

And the steam... Dear lord I thought my kindle was going to melt! And everything was so well executed and fit perfectly.

I absolutely recommend this one!! You must read it now!!

I have to start off by saying I am in total LUST with this cover. When you meet Ben you will see this picture is perfection!!! Delicious 🔥🔥

Now for the story - well I freaking FLOVED it!!!! Instead of best friend's older brother, we get the HAF younger brother. Ben is one swoony, slightly broken MOFO which made me love him even more. I have a soft spot for dirty talking yet totally sweet hotties and he definitely fits the bill.

Nell is the kind of character I adore. Smart, witty, a little dorky and not afraid to give as good as she gets - I girl crushed her hard!

Add in dialogue so funny I snorted tea out my nose, a hilarious best friend/sister, meddling neighbour, a grumpy cat, Dr Pussy, and a tasty little story twist I didn't see coming... I finished this book with a HUGE smile on my face and definitely recommend.

I received an arc of this book.

This is Soldier Boy written by Donna Alam. Ms Alam is one of my one click authors, and if you read any of her books, I’m sure she will quickly become one of yours too! Do you remember growing up with your best friend? Did they have a bratty younger sibling that drove y’all nuts? Tried to follow you everywhere and even got caught flushing your fish? Well this story is about when the younger sibling comes back to town all grown up! All. Grown. Up! A bad ass military man with a hard on for his sisters best friend. YES PLEASE!

Hotness with the younger man (only slightly younger) and that twist at the end wasn’t a huge shock as clues were there, but when it happened, I was like...uh...WHAT???

A hot read and some fun kitchen times are all inside. Check this one out for sure. Ben has a dirty, dirty mouth with the ability to take care of business. 🍆💥🚒🚒🚒

Donna Alam books are always fun and easy reads. They don’t have too much drama and the sexy, witty dialogue between characters is always spot on. Soldier Boy has a sexy male lead who is a Captain in the British military. What girl doesn’t have a thing for a man in uniform? I myself certainly do when it comes to books and Ben was my favorite thing about this story. The whole girl falls for best friend’s older brother is a trope I enjoy, but it’s always fun to have a bit of a twist to common tropes and Alam delivers. In this instance, we get Ben, who has a crush on his older sister’s best friend. Penny remembers how annoying her best friend’s little brother was when they were growing up. She isn’t at all prepared for the sexy man he has grown into. Neither are looking for a relationship. Penny is overworked and not over her breakup with her fiancé. Ben knows juggling his military career a relationship would be difficult if not impossible and has some past hurt he’s also dealing with. These two fall into the role of roommates, but the temptation and attraction is too much and as one expects, soon they’re way more than friendly. They were super sexy once they moved past the roommates only situation and there was just enough question of if these two could make it work to keep things interesting. This was a truly enjoyable fun, sexy, amusing easy read.

Ben has had a crush on Penelope since childhood, and since he was a kid an immature kid he did what all little boys tended to do, he tortured her, picked on her and pranked her. Penelope has hated Ben forever, he even killed her goldfish which she can not seemed to forget. Now she is on no man type of diet since the guy she has been with for nine years and bought a house with decided he needed to find himself and now she is stuck with a house that needs renovation and a hefty mortgage leaving her with a lot of overtime and exhausted. Her bestfriend send Ben to stay with her since she was staying with her boyfriend at the time. Ben was happy about staying with Penelope it was his chance. Penelope gets the shock of her life when she sees Ben all grown up and even though she tried to deny attraction those two were hot together, but only as a friend with Bennies. But that changes...Enjoy!

JUST ONE MORE CHAPTER

Audiobook Review:Hilariously funny right from the start. But this story has all the emotions. I laughed, a lot. I cried and I yelled at Melody. Smalls!! That crazy gas huffing cat! Penelope and Bens story is sweet and so 🔥🔥. Maxine Mitchell and Elliot Matthew’s brought this story to life. All the emotions come through their narration. Elliott is a new narrator for me and I look forward to hearing much more of him. Donna Alam has written another wonderful story.

**Audiobook Review**
I’ll begin my review of “Soldier Boy” by saying that I am a big fan of Donna Alam’s work. That said, I started this audiobook with a healthy dose of skepticism about whether or not, Donna A could pull it off again. Well …. holy scorching kitchen scene, did she!
With new characters to fall hopelessly in love with, laugh-out-loud dialogue, and spicy hot romance, you’ll gobble this delicious rom-com up in one sitting!
Narrated by the exquisite Queen of audio, Maxine Mitchell, we meet our leading lady Penny (or Nell) following a break-up that left her in debt and with a reluctant heart to love again. The hilarious and saucy exchanges between Penny and her best friend, Melody, had me laughing out loud from the very first pages. Maxine Mitchell is a master at pulling you into the character. She artfully delivers a performance that highlights Penny’s stubborn and strong-willed nature while allowing you to feel her fear and vulnerability at the same time; so beautiful!
May we talk about the delicious British Special Forces Captain Ben Monroe for a minute, please? Ok, let’s! Ben was performed by Elliot Thomas, who did a wonderful job of pulling us into the dominant and passionate world of deliciousness, that is, Ben. His sexy talk had me looking around to see if my flaming cheeks were visible to those around me; so hawt! Spicy moments aside, Elliot Thomas portrayed Ben’s love of service to his country with heart and truth, which I appreciated profoundly and only made me fall for him even harder.
Now, there’s a part of me that loves the angst and explosive desire between characters to build more slowly in my books, so it was a surprise when things moved to steamy earlier than expected. That said, I am grateful that I didn’t have to wait too long to experience the passionate explosion between Penny and Ben. Their chemistry and attraction were practically palpable from the get-go.
I thoroughly enjoyed this hilarious and sexy best friend’s brother rom-com. With the rich characters and cynical, gas-inhaling cat thrown into the mix, it’s a 5-star easy “click” to listen or read for me!
If you’re not a fan of steamy, spicy, best friend’s brother-could-be-enemies-to-lovers-sorta romance with clever and relatable witty dialogue, this is not the book for you. For everyone else, you know what to do, and you’re going to LOVE it!

Another hot by Donna Alam

I was so happy to see another new book from this author had been published. Woohoo..I LOVE her, have read all her books so far & will always rejoice to see the next one waiting for me. I have read 'The Hot Scots' several times to refresh my memory before another came out. Sooo damn sexy!

Soldier Boy, as most of her others had a wickedly fun sense of humor & lots of super steamy scenes between these 2 childhood friends that hadn't seen each other since their awkward teen years. Captain Ben Monroe was a 3 years younger, best friends brother & was a complete devil to her with every chance he got to be! Dr.Penelope/Penny/Nell didn't have the best memories of him but when asked by Mel, her BFF, if he could stay with her in between deployments, she reluctantly agreed.

Penny can't believe her eyes, neither can Ben when they finally see each other again & HOLY WOW, are they ever grown up NOW! How will keep their hands off each other? Maybe they won't..lol..! Penny is an OB doctor & works ridiculously odd, long hours so chances are good she won't see him much, temptation averted. She can't get involved with her friends brother, can she?

I'll tell you, this was a great book, the blurb about it hooked me in & just being a Donna Alam book, of course it would be on my list. BUTTTT, that cover..seriously, is there anyone who could resist that? Well, not me.

This was another good one with the expected & enjoyed steaminess to destroy my Kindle, dirty talking but sweet, hot man & strong, smart women who was due a HEA. There is even a few chapters where a certain hunky doctor from another Alam book makes an appearance, which was a fun surprise.

Read & enjoy this new book, it's a winner! Recommend!!!

Perfect mix of sweet, spicy and a little drama!

Donna Alams Soldier Boy is the story of friends to lovers with Penny and Ben.

Penny recently divorced from her fiancé has decided she has had enough of men for the time being. That is until her best friend convinces her to let her brother stay with her while he is on leave from the Army. Enter Ben, who has loved Penny (who he affectionately calls Nelly) since they were kids. But no one knows about his crush, especially his sister, so when she suggests they bunk together its perfect. Penny’s house is a fixer-up she is living in while she flips, and the bedrooms have no doors. What ever could go wrong in a situation with no bedroom doors? This story has a lot of spicy sweet in it with the way these two care for each other, and there is also a little mystery that hangs over the whole book till the end. There was a lot I liked about the book, the characters were very well done and she really knows how to set a scene so you feel like you are right there. I felt the ending kind of happened quick and then just kind of ended, I would have liked a little more of the buildup to the end. But other than that, I very much enjoyed Soldier Boy and would recommend to others.

This book is narrated by Maxine Mitchell and Elliot Matthews. Maxine is a favorite of mine, by hearing her do such a spot-on British accent just amped her up!! Especially British Male! As always, she brought the heart and soul to this character, and when (SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER) happens, my heart was RACING. She really knows how to bring the suspension to life with just her voice. Elliot is a new to me narrator but I thoroughly enjoyed him and will be on the lookout for more titles done by him.

Ben, what a stupendous transformation from pest to demigod!😜😍😳

👍👍 Another 🔥 hot, 🔥 hot, 🔥hot 💕 romance from Donna Alam! If you love her spicy romances, this one should not disappoint. The main premise was golden -- a best friend's pesky younger brother who has been perving on heroine Nell since their adolescence and comes back in her life years later as a ripped military man. Ben's long-term fascination with Nell is endearing, though his focused effort to provoke her interest when he knows he's in town on a temporary basis seems a bit selfish, but he's got some issues related to his service in the Middle East that explain his attitude. He's caught Nell at a vulnerable moment when she's just come out of a failed relationship and is exhausted from all work and no play. Well, Ben is just the fella to become her playmate!😜

Mel, Ben's sister and still Nell's best friend, offers some comic relief as does Smalls, Nell's barely tolerated, sock-thieving cat. Mel is also a conflicted soul, throwing Ben into Nell's way and simultaneously trying to put up protective barriers to keep them from getting involved?! The couple's dialogue is highly suggestive and witty, their time together is 💥 explosively hot. Alam provides some shocks and thrills along the way to their story's conclusion. She also connects their story to the Hot Scots series through some cameo appearances of Lord Will Travers, obstetrician par excellance.

I loved the main characters and the plot. I did feel one or two of the intimate scenes were a bit too long, but that's my personal preference, not a reflection on the quality of the writing.

Soldier Boy is a stand alone romance. Nell has just broken up with her boyfriend, works too many house, and has a house and cat that she didn’t want. Her best friend’s younger brother is on leave from his military commitment, and needs a place to crash. Ben was Nell’s biggest tormentor growing up, but now they can’t deny the attraction that flows between them. Is this just an exciting fling or is it possible to have something more?

Oh my gosh, this book was so good! Full of some really good emotions and a lot of steam, but I couldn’t help but cheer for Nell and Ben to find their happily ever after! Nell is not the one night stand type of gal, and I loved how surprised she was by all of the emotions she was feeling for Ben, including their passion. She had a bit of self-discovery in this book, which was a joy to read. Ben was a dirty talking military man with a body made of steel but I loved his vulnerable side. As alpha as he could be, he had secrets that tortured him, including a crazy ex. I thought they were so perfect for each other, as he pushed her buttons and gave her a safe place to explore who she could and wanted to be. I liked that she was able to give his hurts a soft place to land, too, that wasn’t full of judgment. I loved their passion, too! So good! There’s some drama in this book, and a surprising bit of danger towards the end. I was flipping pages to find out what would happen, but the main star of this book was the relationship, and that had my heart pounding in the best of ways! I loved this book! If you can listen to it on audio, I highly recommend it, too, because the narrators just bring the book to life! Swoon!

More like man oh man, this author does it again with the banter, humour, steam, loveable characters and side characters that have you rolling on the floor with laughter. This story is spot on...all of it...the banter is flawless and the humour spot on, and the perfect story telling that made me feel like I was right there in the middle of it.
Ben is all soldier man not boy and Nell notices this when he moves in temporarily when her BF tells her that her younger brother is crashing at her place. Ben has had a crush on Nell since he was 12 and lived to torment her, like the old saying if a boy is mean to you, it means he likes you, and it rings true with these two. She never saw him as nothing more than a pesky little brat who lived to torture her but now that he’s all grown up, she wishes he will torture her, especially in the bedroom. But he’s a soldier and will be going off to serve and due to an incident in his past he doesn’t want the distraction of anyone at home....until Nell...but he’s already made his decision....can he win her back ?
What a steamy oh my steamy read and once again I’m not disappointed by this author’s work. There isn’t anything I would change, no unanswered questions, no over the top drama getting on my nerves, did I mention the perfect banter and humour between the characters. The ending, what an ending with a surprise twist and a HEA that made me swoon swoon swoon swoon. 5+++++ stars.

Donna Alam has just knocked me on my a$$, good thing that I was sitting down. First and foremost, I have been reading her work for years and this beautifully written romance is the best yet. To approach Ben and Penelope's love story with such humor was just what I needed today. Penelope has just come out of a failed relationship when her best friend asks her for a favor. Can she house the boy that tormented her through her childhood? You know she can't say no being he is none other than her best friends Brother, Ben. Being a workaholic, how often will they cross paths? However, after Penelope, aka 'Nell' & my personal favorite, 'Half Pint', gets her first good look at Ben, she is speechless. How did he go into the Special Forces as a scrawny boy and come out like a Roman God? Ben, having been infatuated with Nell from his childhood years to now is still in awe of her beauty inside and out. As romance reader's, we love to lose ourselves in a book for a while just to wind down but Ms. Alam has gifted us with so much more with her latest release. This is the perfect book. I am also a huge advocate for Veterans and the struggles they face. I promise you that Ms. Alam has brought her 'A' game with the creation of Soldier Boy. There is drama, depth within the humor as well as a love so strong it is heartwarming to read. I truly loved this book. Guaranteed happily ever after.

I was incredibly fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Soldier Boy in exchange for my honest opinion and I couldn't recommend it more.

When I started reading this book through about the 40% completion mark, I kept thinking that the sex was seriously hot but that I needed more character development. I especially needed to know more about Ben and what made him tick. Now mind you, I have read every single book published by the author Donna Alam. I should have trusted her. I should have been patient. I should have known that she wouldn't let me down. But no, I was frustrated. In hindsight, I'm going to blame my impatience on the heat and humidity of the summer. Donna Alam in no way skimped on the character development of her lead characters. The more rich, in depth look into Ben and Nell's characters were provided after about the halfway mark. The author was being a tease, drawing me in and holding me hostage with witty dialogue, searing passion and secretive rendezvous sessions. Like the amazing author that she is, I had to experience delayed gratification to truly appreciate Ben for all of his delicious qualities.

I will never doubt Donna Alam again. She is the master of words and plot, I am just merely along for the ride, waiting for each new release in order to be mentally transported through her stories.

"Soldier Boy" is an absolute must read. Ben is truly worthy of making my "book boyfriend" list and I love the fact that Dr/Mr/Lord Will Travers (or "Dr P" to some) even made a cameo appearance. Reading "Soldier Boy" is the perfect way to spend a hot and steamy summer night.

i read this book as part of an arc program. In this book, Penny is a doctor who is overworked and has recently split from her fiancee. Her fiancee left her with a house that is in need of renovations and she is working to try and pay for it. When Penny's best friend asks her if her brother Ben can stay with her while he is on leave from the military. Penny agrees even though Ben was the kid who tormented her throughout their childhood. Ben always had a crush on Penny and she has been in his fantasies since they met. When Ben sees Penny after a few years when he arrives at her house, he knows he has to have her. Penny doesn't want a relationship or even a fling, but she can't help but be attracted to Ben. They settle into a roommate situation until Penny accidentally sees Ben naked and he makes his move. When Ben's sister tries to set Penny up, Ben gets jealous and tries to interfere. Ben doesn't want a relationship because of being a soldier and a past girlfriend, but he doesn't want to give Penny up, but he knows he must. I really enjoyed this book. I loved Ben and thought he was in love with Penny, even though he though he shouldn't be. I love how he was so dominate and affectionate with Penny. I think Penny cared for Ben, even more than she wanted to. They were a great pair and thought their connection and chemistry were amazing. Great one.

I LOVED this book! This was my first Donna Alan read. A very good book friend recommended this as one of her top recent picks and now I know why. Best friends brother also happens to be one of my favorite tropes - so I rushed to one-click and dive in.

Dirty talking Ben is everything I could ever want in a hero. His mouth did it for me. Gah he is sexy, confident and funny. And although life in the service has taken a tole on him - he is fun loving and kept me entertained from cover to cover.

Penelope is a fantastic heroine. I love a strong, successful, independent character. She recently had a crappy breakup. Her confidence took quite a hit when her fiancé left. She is funny and beautiful but just doesn't know it. Her BFF keeps pushing her to start dating but she works hard, long hours and isn't ready.

When Ben shows up on her door step needing a place to stay - the delicious angst is immediate. The attraction off the charts. Together the banter is hilarious & witty as is their internal dialogue. Their individual points of view made this story. Add the heavy dose of innuendo at every conversation and I knew I was in for a treat.

These two are HOT together. Sweet, sexy, funny. Some of the best I've ever read. I couldn't wait to pimp this book to my book friends. Loaned it to my twister sister the moment I finished.

Best Friend’s brother romance, but not a completely off-limits situation

Donna’s books always keep me engaged and wondering where the story is going to go next. With Soldier Boy we meet Penny who has recently been dumped by her fiancé, and needs to complete repairs on her home. Best friend Melody is also renovating her home but it is not suited for company by the time younger brother Ben is returning for a few weeks leave from the military. Unbeknownst to Penny at the time Melody begs her to let him stay…he’s already arriving at her home.

Penny figures things will be okay and they will just be two ships passing in the day as she’s a doctor and works many hours and has no idea what Ben’s plans are other than needing a place to stay. Ben however is still harboring a crush on Penny and finds it hard to keep his distance from her when they are near each other.

I enjoyed listening along to this. Maxine Mitchell plays an American living abroad, but can switch seamlessly over to a Brit voice. The different voices she gave her characters made me enjoy the listen that much more. Donna writes some well written scenes, and often at times while it can be lighthearted, she is able to capture rawness in there as well. While Ben is in the military she doesn’t go too in depth with anything except once so for me there were no trigger warnings to be on the look out for. At the end of the day this is a story about a best friend’s brother who wasn’t really off limits but Melody finds out in her own way and the only way a sister can what’s been happening in Penny’s house.

Soldier Boy was sitting on my Kindle for a while, and I was in between ARC’s, so I thought I’d give it a try. I’m glad I did, all thanks to Ben Monroe.

Ben is a soldier in the British Army, and is home on leave. His sister, Melody, can’t take him in so she asks her best friend, Penny, to take Ben in. Penny hates Ben, but agrees to take him in for her best friend. She hasn’t seen Ben in years and doesn’t realize he’s grown into a beautiful specimen (I mean, look at that cover – YUM).

Penny – though Ben calls her Nell, a nickname which she hates, thinks Ben ruined her childhood. She thinks he killed her goldfish (he didn’t) and was the bane of her existence (he wasn’t). Truth is Ben has been crazy about Nell forever and desperately wanted her attention.

I freaking loved Ben. He was hilarious, sweet and hot! He was smitten with Penny, and she had no clue. He did a stupid thing around 75%, but I didn’t care. He was such a great character. Penny was sweet, but she was really clueless. She had no idea how Ben felt, which was hysterical.

My biggest complaint about this book was that it was clearly written by a British author and it only used the ‘ for dialogue, so it was sometimes hard to differentiate between dialogue and not.

Overall, this book was really cute and sweet and I would recommend it.

I received an eARC from the author.
This book sucked me right in. From the begginning I was laughing out loud at all their bantering.
I loved how Ben was from his teenage years always pining after Nelly. Even when he didn't see her for quite some years he was dreaming of her. Because of her he had a type of a girl - but none of them were her.
Penny or should I say Nell thought that he was her best friend's annoying little brother.
Except he is not so little anymore, is he? She never knew about him have feeling for her. She just thought that he was annoying.
Their collision was inevitable and when it came to it, they crashed, and they crashed hard.
I loved their sexy times and how he tried to hide his feelings for her.
I liked Donna's writing and fell in love with Ben and Nell. She did her job very well.

"Damn it Nell. I didn't want to love you, but I couldn't help it. I want every part of you, half-pint. I want your mornings and your midnights and every minute in between. I can't promise you we will spend every moment together, but it's fair exchange, isn't it? Wherever I am in the world, you'll already own all of me."

I love a Donna Alam book. Plenty heat with the added humour that I chuckle along with and her boys are always the perfect book boyfriend.

Soldier boy is a best friends brother story. With our heroine down on her luck after her boyfriend leaving her and being left in the house they bought that’s still being remodelled. Her best friend needs her do a favour and let her younger brother stay with her, Ben, the younger brother who taunted Penelope all those years ago.

She’s in a for surprise when Ben turns up nothing like she remembers and is now definitely all man. He’s got a smart dirty mouth and a rock solid body that doesn’t take her long in climbing it.

I did feel that the story could have been more and the end was a little rushed but I did enjoy it and loved previous characters reappearances. I still love Will ❤️. Overall, this was a great quick read that packs the steam and I would definitely recommend it.

He🐺🍆🌋 Wants Her💃💋 To Want💕 Him

The sexual innuendos, puns, and snarky comments fly fast and furious when obstetrician Penny💃💋, agrees to let her best friends younger brother, Ben🐺🍆🌋, stay at her house while he's in town. The three of them grew up together and Ben🐺🍆🌋 was a pain in the a$$ all during their teens.

Now Ben🐺🍆🌋 is a tall, gorgeous, fit Captain in the British SAS. He always had a crush on Penny💃💋, and when He sees her for the first time in about ten years, he can barely control himself.

Penny💃💋 can barely control herself! She has just gotten out of a long term bad relationship, wasting years and years on the only man she'd known. Now she has a handsome stud🐎 all alone in her house!
Ben🐺🍆🌋 is all MAN, and Penny💃💋 is so ready for him! But She's telling herself she needs time to get over her ex. Ben🐺🍆🌋 wants her to want HIM. NOW!

What a fun, crazy, fast read! I couldn't put it down! I was rooting for Ben! I was cheering Penny on! I wanted the 🐱cat to run away! Great book📑!

ARC Received from Bad Boy.
I also got the book📑 with KU.

Soldier Boy wasn't a favorite book of mine by Donna Alam but it was very much a light and entertaining read.
It contained everything I like about Ms. Alam's writing. It was witty, humorous, steamy and full of lively characters. I had my laugh out loud moments, thank you very much.

I liked both Nell and Ben's character. They both felt like they were flesh and blood not just the products of the author's imagination.

I'm not sure I liked Nell's best friend, Mel though. I'm sure the defect is in my device but I wouldn't want her as my best friend. Sometimes it was hard to believe she acted for Nell's benefit. It was rather like she only wanted to manipulate her for selfish reasons. I don't know why but it seemed like her actions was fueled by ulterior motives.

I liked how far Nell and Ben got in their relationship and in their lives. After working insane hours in the hospital to keep up with mortgage payments, Nell's professional life took a great turn. It seemed like Ben too found his new, lot less dangerous career.

I love Donna’s writing with her humour and hot scenes. This didn’t disappoint in that area at all. I liked both characters, Ben and Penny(Nell). It was nice to read a book where the heroine wasn’t annoying and frustrating. Ben is in the special forces and home on leave with nowhere to stay since his sisters (Penny’s best friend) home was being renovated and she asked Penny if she could have him stay with her. Penny was reluctant as Ben had tormented her in their childhood and she didn’t think he would have changed. He certainly wasn’t the boy she remembered but now he stood a tall, muscular hot man! How long could she keep her feelings to herself? Not long to be honest when she ended up naked in the kitchen very quickly! I did enjoy the story and the banter but found that the story seemed to jump months at a time with no explanation and I felt the scene at the hospital was over too quickly and was expecting more angst. Then it just suddenly ended with no epilogue, and I love an epilogue. Overall I did enjoy the book but it wasn’t anything on how much I loved Liar Liar. Sorry Donna.
