A whole new alien world, with fresh new characters and unique superpowers, this is a refreshing adventure read.

This is a story about Daniel – a normal guy that lives on Earth. Well, normal, apart from the fact that he is on the run from the government and a local gangster. This is also a story about Andromeda, who comes to Earth, and tells Daniel he’s an alien and has superpowers – and it’s her job to train him and protect him.

A story and a world where silver can hurt you, and incredible strength is a thing, this was such a refreshing read for me.

Craig has mastered the art of scene and character descriptions, and I can’t resist but share with you his description of Daniel:

‘He was six foot seven inches tall, with a well-defined, lithe, athletic physique. Always clean shaven and well presented, with short, closely cropped, light brown hair and a rosy tinge to his flawless complexion…’

I loved how Daniel’s character developed in what he became, but his mindset didn’t really change throughout the book. And on the contrary – Andromeda’s character progress stays the same, but she matures gradually after each chapter.

And as a pair, both of them keep the balance in the book so perfectly even, it’s so satisfying to read those parts.

This book will introduce you to a new world on another planet, new cities and clans, superpowers and types of ruling. This book is the Game Of Thrones in space.

If you love adventure books, and alien invasions, and new worlds, and of course, superpowers, then go ahead and give this book a chance. You won’t be disappointed!

I am so glad I had the chance to be among the first ones to read this story. Thanks to the author, Craig Wainwright, who sent me a copy of this book, in exchange for my honest review.

This book was sent to us for review. Tried multiple times. The story was intriguing and I was keen to read this but sadly it was just too much pulp.

The writing is a mix , on the one hand it’s as though is was written by a horny teenage lad working through his fantasies and comes across as very juvenile. On the other hand the writer is trying too hard to impress, trying to be clever and failing embarrassingly. If I want good writing I’ll read Dickens, this is super hero fantasy stuff, just get the story told and stop trying to be smart. Unnecessary use of bloated words and repeated cliche phrases constantly break the spell and ruin what story there is.

I will give 1 star for the germ of a good story.

If superheroes, superpowers, and other worlds are your thing, you owe it to yourself to step out of the bestseller lists, take a chance on an Indie Author and read something that is a level above the norm. While this was not one of my favorite stories, I can appreciate a good story - and this was definitely good.

The year is 2026 and Daniel White has come to terms that he isn’t a normal man. It could be the fact that he has super strength and can tolerate hot and cold temperatures no human could. It could be the fact that he has two hearts and burns whenever he touches anything silver. Or it could be the fact that he has been running from the government who want him for his abilities, yet will not explain the reasons why. However, he finally receives answers when a beautiful woman approaches him and confirms his suspicions: he isn’t normal because he is not even human and both of them are from another planet sixteen light years from Earth. She has found him to train him to use the special abilities their race holds so that he may fight against a mutant oppressor who escaped from prison and is now on Earth… looking for him.

New writer Craig Wainwright has entered the world of science fiction with his recently published debut The Last Titan. Not only do readers get a story that has a whole new planet and new alien races, but there is a superhero element present, as well. Yes, after reading the synopsis of the story, readers may think that it is a predictable story and yes, it can be at times, but The Last Titan as a whole is far from being the same predictable story readers may be anticipating and Wainwright has succeeded in areas many who have tried to write science fiction fail in. Not to mention Wainwright’s knack for storytelling and his amazing use of descriptive detail and personification will make readers want to keep reading and learning more as the story plays like a Marvel movie within their minds.

One of the biggest struggles when writing science fiction is creating new alien races and new worlds. So many have been created already and it can be tricky to think outside of the box. Wainwright most certainly thought out of the box and was able to create his unique planet that is orbiting twin stars in Ursa Major sixteen light years from Earth: Hellas. The story jumps back and forth between Earth and Hellas and while readers do not get to witness too much of Hellas’ surface, they do learn much about the customs of the planet, the history, stories about past events and people, a prophecy about potential hard times coming, and about the different races residing on the planet. Of all that is within the story, Wainwright is to be commended on the alien races he created. While some writers play it safe and create one, maybe two races, Wainwright has created ten. Each of the races are briefly introduced, but it is amazing to hear how unique each one is. Wainwright does an amazing job describing how the races look, what each race specializes in and their unique abilities, and how they interact and help one another. This is incredibly impressive and fascinating to read about and will make readers want to learn more about each of the different races.

The main race focused upon in The Last Titan are the main inhabitants of Hellas: the Hartos. They are an inspiring race of human-looking beings that have two hearts, piercing green eyes, one love that they are connected to before birth, special abilities that act like super powers, and they are allergic to silver. This race is the one that really gives the superhero element to the story for what they are capable of can only be described as super powers. What is refreshing about the Hartos’ powers is the fact that Wainwright refers to them as abilities, not powers, and each ability mentioned is different than the super powers that have been used countless times in other movies and comic books.

The characters themselves are well-developed, inspiring, and have more heart and determination than one could possibly imagine. Take Andromeda, for instance. She is a powerhouse woman character male and female readers will fall in love with. She is courageous, strong, and caring, yet her stubbornness does get the better of her at times and clouds her judgement. Then there is Daniel who knows how to use his strength to help others and has a fun cheesy way of acting like a valiant knight in shining armor. These two make quite the team and are a force to be reckoned with. Neither one plays the damsel during a fight and, when a fight does become too difficult for one, the other will jump in to help.

Of course in any story involving heroes or hero-like characters there is a villain and what a villain Wainwright has created. Unfortunately villains are becoming more predictable in stories nowadays and while they can be fun, they just don’t seem to have that truly evil intent. Please welcome Omicron, the complex villain readers have been waiting for. She is a shapeshifting mutant who is not evil just for the heck of it and seems to have plans for the future, but she is dangerous because her true intentions remain enshrouded in mystery, just like her past. Due to her past, there are times when she even becomes a sympathetic character. There is most certainly more to her than meets the eye and it is to be believed that readers only truly get a glimpse of who Omicron truly is in The Last Titan. Hopefully more will be revealed in the future…

Wainwright makes his debut with The Last Titan, an out of this world action-packed, cleverly written, and imaginative science fiction adventure. It is a story that will please fans of the science fiction genre with a new planet and the unique races that reside upon it as well as fans of superhero stories with the different abilities the characters possess and a new battle of good versus evil. Wainwright’s excellent storytelling and his detailed descriptions will paint an amazing picture that will play like a movie within the minds of his readers. The Last Titan is an original and fun new take on a popular concept that holds countless surprises come the last half of the book readers will not see coming. It is also the first of a series Wainwright has planned for the near future and one readers will be anxious to read upon completing his debut.

I was supplied a free copy of this book and have decided to leave a review.

My first impression of The Last Titan, based on it’s rather cartoonish cover, was that this was a book aimed at a younger reader, possibly YA or NA. I guess the old adage ‘never judge a book by it’s cover’ is apt here, as I was very far from the mark. There are a few sex scenes within the book, so certainly not a children's book, but I’m convinced that they added anything to the progression of the plot.

Setting this aside, The Last Titan is a well written book. Craig Wainwright has clearly put a significant amount of time and thought into the book. The plot moves along at a good pace, with a mixture of setting, character development, world building and action. The action scenes are generally good, although a few are a little overwritten. The world building is done very well; the reader learns about the world as the main character does, and while at times the dreaded info dump is used, Craig does a brilliant job of making it not feel like an info dump.

There are a few of characters throughout the book who have had a lot of thought put into them, both good guys and bad guys, and even some of the minor characters have a bit more flesh on them than I would expect.

The plot is fairly linear, although there is a more than enough depth to the characters and their interactions to pull this off. There are also a number of interesting diversions and unexpected turns on route to the final showdown which helped to keep my interest. The book doesn’t really round very much up, but this is only because Craig has left the ending open to a follow up book.

Overall, I found this book very immersive, and I think I will still be contemplating it in the days to come. I have given this book 4.1 stars, a recommended read.

Author Craig Wainwright's sci fi tale takes the reader on an epic journey between Earth and the planet Hellas, with alien upheavals, survival, and everlasting love components woven throughout the story. Main character Daniel White has known he was different, his strength and aptitude giving him super-human traits that he does not quite understand. Enter the beautiful Andromeda, a woman of his dreams who comes to earth to hone his powers and help him understand his legacy and true origins. Their journey together takes them on an action packed adventure, avoiding the Earth based powers that want to capture Daniel for research, and the alien Omicron, a shape shifting alien who comes to Earth to stop Daniel in his quest, permanently. I enjoyed this sci fi adventure very much. Author Wainwright introduces the reader to alien world Hellas, unfolding its history and struggles, and its tie to Earth to help save its destiny in vivid detail. The characters and their adventures capture the reader's imagination in this action packed tale. Will they survive? Or has their journey just begun? A great read!

A unique and original presentation of life in 2026. Daniel White is in for a future he couldn't foresee. He will soon learn, it is more than a dream or feeling that influences where his journey takes him. The Last Titan is a compelling story infused with Ancient Greek mythological roots and futuristic warriors. It is not just about a new beautiful World, HELLAS, it is about the love that knows no time. This is not a typical, predictable work of FICTION. We are right there with Daniel as he discovers his true calling and essence! We can only PRAY that Our World, could be as loving and tolerant yet harbour great strength. Not just of body, but of the mind as well. The Last Titan is a refreshing change of pace and the depth of Mr. Wainwrights' vision shows the lengths one will go through for Love. Those whom appreciate exceptional fiction, quality character development and a truly original story will Love "The Last Titan'!

Straight off, I fell in love with the author's Foreword which makes it clear how many decades of dreaming and world building went into the creation of this tale. I was immediately drawn into the story and though it may sound a bit cliché, could not put it down. I felt a connection to the characters, (both "good and evil") and the planet Hellas so strongly that I was slightly angry with the ending. Thankfully, I hear there are many more books to come!
