This was a really great short story/novella. It actually hooked me and made me want to read the follow up full length novel - I've added to my TBR, so hopefully will get a chance to read this.

I love the little novellas that start a new series. I cant wait to see why Caterina was so adamant to be with Marcus when she didn't even know who he was.

Not as good as the full first novel, but I really liked getting a peak into the incident that happened 6 years ago. No wonder Cat wasn't happy to see Marcus again, but then again she was kind of a brat, wasn't she?😂😂

This was a good novella and I think did everything a novella should.
It introduced the characters and their back story, it set up the first book well and it made me interested to read the first book.
So all in all a success.

For a small prequel that kicks off a new series I absolutely was all for this.

I love how the characters from the Modern Love series ended up in this and I honest and so excited to explore more of what Climax Cove has to offer.

Dane was probably my favorite in trying to make Marcus feel welcomed and I am pretty sure they’ll end up being buddies. He seems like a down to earth good time person and that might be something Marcus will need in the future.

I definitely kept feeling like there was going to be some kinda plot twist and boy did Piper Rayne deliver right at the end - which just means I have to read on to find out what’s gonna happen now.

Enjoyed the series (great narration!) and was engaged enough to search for every 'extra' that exists! Also enjoyed that characters from Modern Love, the previous series, had appearances that served as additional epilogues for them.

I'm really seeing the benefit of going through these in order and will be continuing.

I found free and 99 cent novellas on the author's site (purchases arrived quickly) and more bonus items on read-free-online sites. Found: 0.5 Jailbait, 1 Real Deal, 2 Dirty Talker, 3 Sexy Beast, plus Sex Weeks, The Perfect Distraction (in The Nightingale Anthology), and Halloween Bonus short stories.

Jailbait: not significant if read separately, but in conjunction with Book 1, it made the story much stronger.

Eine kurze, schöne Novelle, in der man einen Eindruck und Verständnis dafür bekommt, wieso Marcus sich dazu entschieden hat in Climax Cove zu bleiben und die Werkstatt seines Vaters zu übernehmen.

Außerdem lesen wir darüber, wie Marcus und Caterina sich kennengelernt haben und wie ihre ersten Aufeinandertreffen waren. Und natürlich, wie Marcus von Gretchens Schwangerschaft erfährt und sich innerlich auf seine Vaterrolle einstellt.

Die gesamte Novelle spielt 6 Jahre vor Marcus und Caterinas Geschichte aus "The Deal with the Single Dad" und erzählt die Vorgeschichte der beiden, die des öfteren in dem oben genannten Roman erwähnt wird, einsetzend bei der Beerdigung von Marcus Vater.

Interesting read
Marcus is going to have a lot to deal with and although the town people seam friendly and supportive, I have a feeling he is going to need every support he can get because Gretchen will be trouble. Marcus will regret how he humiliate Caterina, he could refused her without doing it for so many people to see and here. It will be interesting to know how life progresses with Marcus and what will happen with him and Gretchen.

This novella was different. Had I not read Real Deal first I am not sure I would have continued on. HOWEVER, having read it, I was grateful to see how this all started and gave me the backstory I wanted in regard to how these two knew each other and how Marcus came to be the way that he was. Since I love this series, I am glad that it is included in the boxset.

This short little read introduces us to Marcus and Cat. She is young and impulsive and he is battling changes in his life that are truly life altering. You can grab this and read in a sitting so you can jump right into Real Deal. Jailbait is a bit sad but will lead you into all the fun.

I can't wait to read Real Deal. That Caterina is pushy. Can Marcus, with a baby on the way?
