The Found Warrior

Rate this book
When you find that one person who connects you to the world, you become someone different, someone better. When that one person is ripped away from you, what happens to you then?

When Blaine Hammerton, Navy SEAL, is notified that his father died of a heart attack, he finds himself in Brooklyn, shaking hands with people he's never met and accepting a random key from one of his father's friends. As he finds himself lost in a mental fog on the streets of Manhattan, he never expects to walk into an art gallery, and he really never expects to discover a beautiful woman...having a breakdown.

Breakdown? Elena Gates doesn't have breakdowns! Just because she threw a bottle of water at her prize canvas doesn't mean she was coming apart. The know-it-all man in uniform has no right to be in her gallery! Giving him a piece of her mind will be her pleasure ... until she discovers his father recently passed. The sadness in his ice blue eyes leads her to do something she's never even considered before--ask a man over for pancakes at midnight.

Seconds, minutes, hours, how long does it take to fall in love? Blaine wonders how quickly his heart could be hers as he turns the city upside down with Elena seeking the lock for his key, cooking meals for her at her apartment, and watching her paint.

When the call comes and it's time for Blaine to get back to being a real life hero, Elena can't believe she's become that woman--the one who waits for emails and wonders if the man she loves is dead or alive.

A note from the author:

Thanks for visiting my Goodreads page.

I wanted to tell something meaningful about myself, but let's start with the important stuff--I love swoon-worthy heroes. The kind of heroes that are strong and would take a bullet for you, but also want to open your door and listen to you pour out your heart.

What else? I grew up moving. If you’ve read my books, you won’t be surprised by this. I have a lot of moving themes through my books centered around characters experiencing pain from someone moving.

It was hard. But, I believe there’s always a seed of good that comes out of everything hard, so I think the best thing that came from it was that I learned to love books.

And I had to learn a lot of mad skills on friend making. It gave me a love of people…good people, compassionate people. Interesting people of all kinds.

What else about me? I am a mother and wife! I have four amazing boys that are like little ninjas running around. I love them so much and I’m so grateful for my amazing husband who doesn’t get intimidated by all the billionaire men in my life.

I have a fierce love of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for Him and for the healing and forgiveness I’ve gotten to experience in my life. This is a theme in many of my books.

I love being an American. I am so proud of the men and women that support and preserve our freedom. This is another theme you will find in my books.

I am so grateful for my fans and for the support and love you all show me! Don’t stop reading!

Hugs-

Taylor

Much larger portion of the book dedicated to the relationship builder than any actual Navy Seal protection - which only accounts for a very tiny part. However, it was nicely done. Always clean and character growth was done well. I would have preferred this to be just a little longer and seen something done to tackle the return, and the rescue is always so fast.

I love Romeo and Juliet feel to this story. The beginning was a little odd and I felt separated from the story. It seemed like a lot of telling not showing. I love how they found each other. It has intense feelings of love throughout the whole book. I kept waiting for the shoe to drop or something. It did and then came back even more intense. Wow!

Blaine Hammerton was a Navy Seal who was on leave for his father's funeral. As he was walking aimlessly one evening after his father's funeral, he came upon an art gallery in Manhattan. The door was open so he went in and what he saw surprised him. A beautiful woman was attempting to destroy a painting. He had to stop her before she was successful.

Elaina was frustrated. She was trying to keep her mother's art gallery afloat and in the black but each month got harder and harder. She had painting a piece that showed her mother's pain. There was a lot of emotion displayed in the piece. Her boyfriend had proposed during a gallery event that evening and then had dissed her work. She lashed out at the art piece. Then someone tried to stop her. She didn't feel threatened but a handsome "soldier" stood before her in her gallery. He looked lost, just like she felt.

Elaina invited him to her place to stay and they began to spend time together. The story line was a bit far-fetched in that regard. I can't imagine a woman inviting a man she didn't know back to her apartment to stay for a while, just for safety reasons.

The story was clean but seemed a little slow in places. I like these romances and am especially taken in by a man in a military uniform. It wasn't until the last 25% of the book that the story really started to capture my attention, though. I read this story as a part of the Kindle Lender's Library.

Her best book ever! I've read all of Hart's books and this is by far her best work yet. There was so much depth and emotion. I loved the MC's. Even though they only knew each other 10 days, their relationship progressed really well and I believed they loved each other after such a short time. The characters talked about being in their own little buble for 10 days. That's how I felt reading it. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because it lost a little momentum when they found each other again. The MC's personalities seemed changed somewhat. Maybe that was on purpose because their experiences changed them? Plus, there were a few things I wondered about. How did the bad guy know where to find Elena? The SEAL group kept that info 'need to know'. And the shoot out scene on the airplane...I'm not sure it would have gone down like that. Aren't there laws that need to be followed? And what about the repercussions of taking out a member of the Mexican drug cartel? All in all, soooo sweet and fun. It was clean. No language. No sex. Even though they were in a position that anything could have gone intimacy wise, the author kept it above board and it wasn't awkward. I will read this one again!

All of the stars

This is BY FAR my favorite of the navy seal romances I’ve read, and I’ve read a good chunk of them at this point. I’m absolutely in love with the characters, and even though I read it on kindle unlimited I will be buying this one because IM SO STINKING IN LOVE WITH IT. I loved the steam and the deep relationship these characters have, and I freaking love the way they take care of each other and compliment each other and work so well together.

Most sweet clean romance books leave me with a smile on my face, but this one... it made me want to be a better writer so I can leave my readers feeling the way I feel right now.

Taylor Hart can have every single star there is for this one, because I think I just found my new favorite book.

Well darn, now I’m just sitting here wishing I wrote this book, because holy crap was it fantastic. I have all of the feels, and I give this book all of the stars.

For real, there was religion in it and it didn’t even feel cheesy. I bought the religion, and I NEVER buy the religion.

Alright, I’ll stop ranting and go read it again, because this is a book that deserves to be read again and again. My day has been both ruined and made. You deserve all of the applause, Taylor Hart. All of them.

When happenstance lets you meet your true soulmate and it seems the hand of God turned you in the right direction, you need to pay attention. Some call it a gut feeling but it pays to listen to the calling. Blaine walked into an art gallery when he noticed the door slightly open and saw the breakdown happening right in front of him as this woman was seemingly losing her mind and sobbing. Elena was caught in a world of going broke, submitting to a father’s friend, or losing everything dear to her. Money, power and threats seemed to rule her life and in walked this SEAL who seemed bigger than life - so, what’s the answer? Let’s have pancakes and talk. I loved the book and could hardly stay in my seat as the story unfolded. Yes, I wanted to reach out and grab a couple characters right out of the book, and wake them up. Great read!

Elena and Blaine

Elena was having a meltdown in her art gallery when a Navy SEAL walked up to her and tried to calm her down.

Blaine, home on leave for his father's funeral, was walking around New York in a daze. When he saw a beautiful woman with fiery red hair having what looked like a mental breakdown he went in through the slightly ajar door and tried to calm her down.

For the next ten days the two did everything together and they fell in love and flew to Vegas to get married. But Blaine knew he'd be going back to war and wanted to wait, much to Elena's consternation. Two weeks later, Elena got a Dear Jane email.

This is a first for me. I stopped reading a book I actually liked—a lot. Like 4 stars of like. I am at 57% and just don’t want to keep reading. The main characters have been in this unreal bubble of time and I realized now they are leaving that bubble or about to leave that bubble that I didn’t want to go with them. I want the story to end on this weird unfinished note. There has been nothing real
life (despite all the dead parents) about the nearly two weeks together. Romance books written by women for women—a guy getting coffee, cleaning the house, fixing food, etc. Dandy. No one really working. Idk. I just decided to get off the “bus.”

The Found Warrior

Another great book in this series. The book of love and intrigue is another great book to read. The thought that someone might need help is always on his mind. He walks into a gallery and sees a beautiful lady throwing things at a portrait when he calls out to her. This led to a string of different things taking place and help being required to keep the love of his life safe. This was a free read and a great one. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill

The Foundation Warrior

Romeo and Juliet 2.0 - Blaine is a Navy SEAL on leave for his father's funeral. Wondering aimlessly through the streets of New York, dreading going home, he stumbles upon Elena on the precipice of a breakdown. Their connection is immediate and perfect. But duty calls, life gets disrupted, and misunderstandings happen. Romance with a side of suspense kept me turning pages.

So, this book is part of a 6 author series set. It’s the first book, but there is an intro novella first, which I read. While it gives some background to events that happen two thirds of the way through, it also gives major spoilers. I would suggest reading this book first, then the novella and the other books following. This was an incredible book, but knowing that major information up front took a lot of the wind from its sails.

I have loved Taylor’s books! But this one was just meh. Likable characters in Blaine and Elena who meet and have instant chemistry. Some cute moments and pretty good story line. But for a Navy SEAL, is he a soldier or a sailor? I don’t know much about military and I don’t pretend to know either but I think he would be a sailor.

GREAT LOVE STORY

This author has written a great first story for this Navy Seal series. She has written a very heartfelt story about two strangers who meet and form an immediate romantic attachment. She gets into the very heart and soul of these two main characters and also described who they survive disappointment, hurt and anger. Amazing adventure and love story.

Romance and action

Blaine and Elena's meeting and romance take about half the book. It is a clean sweet interaction of two people who are hurting find someone who can understand. Then the action starts when Elena 's father is kidnapped. The who done it is a little surprising but good does overcome evil.

Good

I enjoyed the unexpected match. Like the "chemistry" between the two main characters. Would have liked a bit more detail of what Elena did with the gallery, her work, her father, but all in all a decent read.

Loved this book except SEALs are not soldiers. They are special sailors. Once or twice from Elena would have been a joke, but the SEAL would not have used soldier in any context about him. (Sorry for the rant. I am a Navy veteran).

NAVY seals are my fav. They are so brave, strong! Blaine fell in love so fast but his career might keep him and his true love apart because the mission is just to risky. But then they realize that they can't things that could happen hold them back from being together. Such a cute, clean read with some navy action.

I love books that include both romance and suspense. This book was fantastic. I loved the characters. Both were broken from loss but the attraction they felt toward each other was so intense. I stayed up way too late to finish because I could not put it down!

I liked that even though Blaine and Elena have a quick romance they spend lots of time together so it is based on honesty and friendship. Contains: references to prayer and God, shooting violence (not gory), kisses
