Her Born and raised in suburbia, my life just got complicated. I inherited a gorgeous mansion a few cities over. I meet a guy. He’s dangerous and he wants to kick me out of my house, so why do I find myself drawn to him? He’d bad news and I wish I had the strength to stay away. Mansion. Mysterious guy. But I’ve heard ‘good’ things cum in threes.
Him The Motorcycle club comes first, Snow leopards before anyone else. But when I walk into this girls life, I do not expect her to fight back. I do not expect her to spit fire like the best of them. I have a job to do, as both a biker, and a security guard. The rules are clear, but I might have to bend the rules for this one. The boss isn’t going to be impressed about that, but I don’t give a damn. She just might be worth it.
**A shifter dating agency romance. No cliffhangers. Very mature themes and a HEA.**
** 3.5 Stars ** Hanna-Gale had a dream about a magnificent snow leopard, powerful and confident, watching over his domain and keeping his people safe. She was powerfully drawn to him and knew she should be by his side. Then she woke up.
Hanna-Gale answered her phone. A lawyer said she had to come to an estate reading that day! She took the day off work. She hardly knew the uncle who had died, didn’t remember that part of the family; but she had good manners and felt she should be there. A large, fancy house in the center of town was now hers! Although the outside gardens needed care, and paint would help a great deal, the inside was everything she could ever want! The floors were beautiful, the paintings were gorgeous, everything was in perfect repair! Then she heard footsteps overhead!
Armed with a candlestick, Hanna-Gale went to the East Wing and saw a man with his back to her. He was huge, powerful, tall and broad with black hair, and wore a leather jacket with a snow leopard on it. He turned and approached her with confidence, introducing himself as Casey and asking who she was. She told him she owned the house and he was to leave! He responded that she was the trespasser on the Snow Leopard’s turf! He grabbed her wrist and she hit him with the candlestick! He told her he would leave for now but would return.
Hanna-Gale’s dream came back again and she tossed and turned all night. She rose and made a warm bath, then read a book of fairy tales that she had grown up hearing. She spent time making herself glamorous and attractive, ready to take on the world! She had breakfast and returned – to find Casey sitting on the couch! She told him to leave, she didn’t need a deadbeat biker hanging around. Angry, he walked up to her and as she grabbed his shirt, he kissed her! After their coupling, Casey said he would stop bothering her about the house because he saw it bothered her, but the club wanted it and he could not guarantee they would let this go.
At a knock on her door that night, Hanna-Gale eagerly opened it, prepared to greet Casey. But this man was not Casey. He said he was Dan and wanted to talk with her. He was very intimidating and told her she needed to give up this house. She kept hoping Casey would arrive. Things were very tense when there was a knock at the door. Casey had anger in his eyes when he saw Dan and the tension in the room increased. Casey lunged at Dan and they fought – but Hanna-Gale kept seeing snow leopards until they backed up and Dan shouted at him. What was their history? What had she thought she had seen? Dan turned and in fury stormed out of her house. Had war just been declared? Was she now in danger?
The idea of allowing the reader to read the fairy tales was original – but one, if and only if it related to the actual story line of the book, would have been enough. Page after page of fairy tales made me think the author gave us the entire book of tales! It didn’t add to the story in any way for me and made it unnecessarily cumbersome and long. Likewise, the dream sequences, long ones, were repeated over and over. What could have been an effective tool became irritating instead because it was overdone and too long. The story line itself was good. The italicized sections could all be removed to make it even better.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This story was a young woman who inherited a mansion from her uncle and when she went to live there, she was surprised to find a man in the house with her. Hanna-Gale told him to leave, but Casey told her his MC wanted the mansion and it was in their territory. Hanna-Gale told him no and if he didn't leave she would call the police. Casey left, but he said he would be back. Casey was part of the Snow Leopard MC and they wanted the house. When Casey returned, he and Hanna acted on their attraction and Casey said he would leave her alone. this only led to another biker named Dan coming to see Hanna. I liked the story, but i found the dream sequences to be annoying because they were repeated. I think they only needed to be included once. I also skipped over the fairy tales because they had no bearing on the story.
Hanna-Gale got herself a new house when her uncle dies, a huge house in another town. A town she doesn't know about is ruled by the bikers from the snow leopards who wants her out of her house. But she doesn't want to give up on the house. First she is afraid of the bikers, but when they come close she is full of desire and she lets them take her in a hot way.
why four stars? Because of the dreams she has, telling the whole hot moment again in the same words. In my eyes it would have been enough to mention she was reading fairy tales instead of writing the whole fairy tale down more than once.
I also missed the biker gang a bit, because she only has met two of them, two hot ones of course ;-)
I had a hard time giving this one "stars". The actual story-line and "love story" part could be a 4 star but the "filler" makes it a 3 1/2 at best. I understand the need for the repeated dream sequences since it pertains to the story. It's the book Hanna is reading "filler" that annoyed me...there was way too much. I found myself flipping through it looking for the true story. I usually really enjoy stories by this author but this one didn't do it for me.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The premise of the story is not bad. There was never an explanation given as to why the MC wants the mansion. Hanna-Gale and Casey make a sweet couple...her dreaming of him is very fated mate like, but he doesn't claim her. I'm not a fan of all the fairytales in the middle. They just seem to take the focus off the true story. There is no mention of how Wild Security fits in.
I liked this romance. With plenty of emotional turmoil, steamy chemistry and tense drama, this book keeps you engaged. A fun read and a good addition to this series. This is my voluntary, honest review.
