This is a great short story and hopefully the start of a wonderful series. Even though it was short it didn't feel rushed and there was plenty of character development which doesn't always happen.

Claudia a vampire makes the ultimate sacrifice to save her people by marrying the Zuriel the king of the Deabru the ones who are killing her people But is it a sacrifice when she is attracted to Zurial and would her people forgive her if she fell in love with him. They may have started by hating one another but don't they say there is a fine line between love and hate I can't wait for more books in this series

This book has the best one line in the world ever......And it's about mens lust and a root vegetable.....I nearly wet myself while laughing like a donkey. I loved the anguish Claudia faces as she prepares to face her execution but the anguish is not for herself but for those she leaves behind...that says so much about Claudias personality and her loyalty. I also loved the fact that Zuriel is trying his hardest to win her over but their customs do not merge easily so what is a nice gesture to one is not to the other.
I loved Alik and his gentle way with the Drakes has set him up to be Claudia friend and boy does she need one!

War has devastated Claudia's nation & she's prepared to sacrifice herself to save her people. What she isn't prepared for is the charismatic ruler of her sworn enemy. The author packs a lot of information in this very short story. She covers dealing preconceived ideas, age old wounds & people trying to change the future, without dying in the process. We sorta start in the middle with references to previous events peppered throughout, hopefully the next book will explain some more of the background.

Enemy or lover...

Vampires and the Deabru are enemies. Can they be lovers also? To save her people, this is what Claudia must do. She never expects to fall for Zuriel. I enjoyed reading this book but wish there was a more. Claudia and Zuriel made for an interesting couple and proved that there truly is a fine line between love and hate or enemy and lover. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Princess Claudia is going to be executed in less than a week. Her brother Julian is missing and their protector Maxwell is beside himself.
The King wants Claudia to turn herself in. If she does then then the truce will remain and if not then there will be war.
This is a MUST Read and I Highly Recommend for OVER 18 DUE TO CONTENT. This book is full of mystery and suspense that kept me wanting more.

This is an interesting read, that brings two opposing worlds together.

Zuriel is my favorite character because even after giving a "accidental" ultimatum he is completely down to earth and sincere.

This book gives a full story even with it being a short read. I am excited for the next book.

Claudia thought she was going to her death when in all actuality she was going to be married to her enemy. Zuriel was tired of the fighting between the kingdoms and wanted an end to it all. What was once hatred and disgust turned to love for Claudia and Zuriel. It was a wonderful story.

This is a story I loved reading a lot. It has very strong characters and a very well written story abou Vampires and the Deabru. I was hooked from page one and it kept my full attention from begining to end. I highly recommend this to everyone who loves a great book.

Deabru and Vampires may be enemies but Claudia will do what she must to save her people. She becomes Zuriel’s bride but what will happen when she starts falling for him. Is she betraying her people? This is a fast-paced read with plenty of drama and steamy chemistry. I look forward to more in the series. I liked it.
