Submissive #11

Mentor's Match

Rate this book
One wild and crazy, we-won’t-tell-anyone, week of sex and submission was all old friends, Kate and Fritz, agreed to while in Berlin for work. When they wind up together on the same project in Delaware, Fritz makes it clear he’s more than happy to pick up where they left off.

But Kate had already decided it would be best for her to give up BDSM altogether and she doesn’t expect a hardcore Dom like Fritz to do the same. However, she soon finds out she’s vastly underestimated Fritz because he’s not about to give up on the woman he’s fantasized about for years.

NEW YORK TIMES/USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR

Even though she graduated with a degree in science, Tara knew she’d never be happy doing anything other than writing. Specifically, writing love stories.

She started with a racy BDSM story and found she was not quite prepared for the unforeseen impact it would have. Nonetheless, she continued and The Submissive Series novels would go on to be both New York Times and USA Today Bestsellers. One of those, THE MASTER, was a 2017 RITA finalist for Best Erotic Romance.

Now she is focusing on new contemporary romances that allow her the freedom to write and publish on her own schedule.

It truly pains me to write this, but this was such a letdown in so many ways. I was very much looking forward to the Kate and Fritz story and after the release being postponed, I was ecstatic when it finally came out. First thing of note is that it says average reading time is a little over three hours. Hmmm. Seems more like a novella. Second, is that it was full of mistakes. Words were in wrong order, an I was written as a 1, spacing was wrong, poor grammar was used....someone missed the boat as a proofreader. Third, it was a far cry from all of the other beautifully written books in the series. The story seem disjointed and there were very little times I connected with the characters when I was so looking forward to what Fritz has to offer. The storyline seemed so rushed that I wondered if Tara Sue Me was really the writer. This will not, however, deter me from reading the author’s other books in the future. They can’t all be literary works of perfection. I would be happy to be a proofreader though. :)

I really didn't know whether to give this book 5 or 4 stars. It's definitely a 4.5 stars book.

How I have missed this series. Frizz is sneaky he made sure to be in the house when he shouldn't have been. Kate thought she will be staying at his house alone. Oh I can't wait to see what he has in mind for her.

Frizz have wanted Kate from afar. Finally he can have the woman he always wanted. Kate was confused on what she wanted out of a relationship. I love these two together.

I love The Submissive Series as a whole and I was so excited when I heard that Kate and Fritz were going to have their own book. The book was a bit muddled and all over the place. It didn't flow well and felt rushed. It didn't seem like something TSM would write.
The grammar mistakes alone were very noticeable. I'm not sure who edited the book or proof read for mistakes, but someone else should be assigned to do it on future books.
The story had the makings for a great read. It was too short and scenes felt cut off and never circled back to be finished, including the ending. The last two chapters were the best and then all of the sudden it was over. I was left wanting so much more from the both of them, much more.

The author building this BDSM group is remarkable. The submissives gathering together to form a bond is, I guess, a normalcy for this so-called club?

Sadly, I'm done with BDSM-story line reads.

Though, this one is a bit of a change-up since heroine thinks she's done being submissive. Got myself interested, turned the pages, but right off the bat, felt flat.

I should know. I ain't gonna be as interested as how I read (and re-read) FSOG. That ship has sailed.

Titillating temptation! Fans of Tara Sue Me's Submissive series will be very familiar with the heroine in this story. We get to catch up with some of our old favorites, including Kate's ex Cole as her story plays out. She is considering leaving the BDSM community but a strong pull towards Fritz has her wondering if they could ever put their differing needs together to be a successful couple. The story started out a little slow with light dialogue on what happened in Germany, but it picked up when Fritz comes to the US to continue what they started. Not as hands on in an ongoing relationship as some in the series, but enjoyable.

Architect Kate Herrington is attempting to get her life in order after the big changes she's made in the last year, and going to a major conference in Berlin feels like a great stepping stone to awakening her career. When a hotel snafu pops up at the last minute, she remembers that her ex Cole's friend Fritz has a house in Berlin that might not be in use. She calls in the favor and winds up getting more than she bargained for with a decadent week in Germany!

Contractor Fritz Brose has been lusting after Kate since she was his best friend's lady, so he's not going to let the fact that she's going to be staying at his house pass by without seeing her. An agreement to play together while she's in town sets wheels in motion in his mind to claiming her as his own. Upon returning to the US, she's hesitant to agree to that because she thinks leaving the lifestyle is the only solution for her.

Don't Give Up On Your Dreams

ExcitedLy, in this latest BDSM book architect and submissive Kate Herrington and contractor and dominant Fritz Brose are the main characters but interestingly supported by other characters that we know and love such Nathaniel and Abby, Cole and Sasha, Dena, Daniel and Julie.

Committed to attending a conference in Berlin Kate has no alternative but to stay at a friends empty house when her intended hotel is fully booked. Then unexpectedly, her owner friend Fritz turns up for the same event and they agree to be in a dominant/submissive relationship for the week.

Unbeknownst to Fritz that week was intended to be Kate's last time as a submissive. Previously she had been a submissive/slave for eight years with Cole and they had become too comfortable. Now, she want to fulfil an erotic fantasy with Fritz, whilst having time to think and to decide what she ultimately desires in my relationship.

Also unbeknownst to Kate, Fritz had loved her from the first time they met, but she was with Cole so he said and did nothing about his feelings. But now, she is free and he would do anything to make her his. He even tried being vanilla.

What has to happen or change to bring these two lovely people together? Do they love each other? Make the time to find out.

What Happened In Berlin Didn't Stay in Berlin

Kate has been drifting since she and Cole ended their eight year Master/slave relationship. Unbeknownst to her, Fritz Brose has been atteacted to her since her days with Cole. Kate ends up staying with Friitz in his Berlin home while attending an architectural conference. They agree to a week long M/s relationship. After the week is over, she leaves, no strings attached. Kate declares that she's only interested in vanilla relationships. Fritz and Kate end up working together on a BDSM club project. He tries to give her "vanilla" but it's just not working. Kate walks away at the end of her involvement in the project and returns to New York. Fritz eventually goes home to Berlin. Neither party is happy. Finally figuring out what she wants, she goes for it. Hoping she's not too late.

This book was great. I loved getting Kate and Fritz’s story. After 8 years with Cole, Kate definitely deserved finding someone to meets all her needs. While Kate was at a conference in Berlin, she stays at Fritz’s home. She thinks he is out of town but when he knew she would be in his home, he decided to speak at the same conference. Now they are staying at his home together and you could cut the sexual tension with a knife. They decide to play together while she is there.

This opens up feelings for both of them that neither one was expecting. You just knew this couple was perfect for one another but they both think the other wants different things. They just need time together and to finally open up and talk to each other.

I truly love every book in this series and can’t wait for the next one.

I read almost all of the submissive series books and this one was the most disappointing… The storyline wasn’t that interesting although Kate & Fritz had so much potential and I was really excited about their story
There weren’t many spicy scenes either they just kept talking the whole time :)

The first disappointment was how Tara skipped the week Kate & Fritz spent together and just jumped into explaining how Kate wanted to leave the lifestyle, like give me something (as a reader) to make me love the couple and their chemistry! Give me something that makes me actually connect to them so I could feel a little sorry that they can’t find a way to be together! Don’t jump from their first meeting to their (breakup?) right away

Overall didn’t really enjoy it & I’m pushing myself to read the last few chapters and I don’t think I’ll read any other book of the series

Feeling lost

Feeling lost after walking out of an eight year Master /slave relationship, Kate, heads to Berlin, for a conference. With no where to stay, she contacts her ex master, to find out if he could contact a mutual friend of theirs in hopes she could stay with him.
Fritz, was more than happy to have Kate, stay in his home. He has always wanted her, but dared not act on it, until now. Fritz, offers Kate, a week of decadent pleasure, with no strings attached. Thrilled with the idea of playing again she says YES to him even if she claims she's no longer in the lifestyle.
When it's time to walk away, will either of them be able to confess there fears of what they truly want, what they can live with and what they can live without?

This was a emotional, heartfelt quick read. I have always loved Tara Sue Me’s words and in this book she did not disappoint.

This book has many relatable moments to any type of relationship...vanilla or flavorful. Communication being the key in all successful relationships. Looking into your soul and seeing what would truly make you happy, communicate it and compromise to make it happen.

I always enjoy getting a glimpse at past favorite characters, their friendships and mentoring. You will not be disappointed with this book. Looking forward to Top Trouble.

Could have been so much better. Kate was a strong, independent woman but in the end fell into Fritz's arms and another submissive relationship. Then the story stopped. I wanted to know if her wish list for a relationship was satisfied, how they worked round it and much more. I think the after had the potential to be much more interesting than the getting there, which after all is really much the same story reworked with different leads.

On a different note, why was this so full of typos and poor sentence construction. Don't they have editors and proof readers to sort this out?

Severely disappointed in this book. While this was an independently published book the errors like the spelling of Luke’s last name, the continuity issues, the lack of follow through (Fritz’s past, says he’ll tell her later never does). This should have been a full length novel and the opportunity of over the top, wicked scenes was missed. We get no details of how Kate and Fritz started out in Berlin, and at the end, the medical scene, total let down. The scene itself shouldn’t have be written because Fritz said he would never do a medical scene again.

Mentor's Match was worth the wait. Fritz and Kate's story was everything I thought it would be. I was surprised with the type of man Fritz turned out to be, he was not what I had thought from previous books. He was much more caring and loving than I anticipated, and it was enjoyable to see how Kate grew to know who she actually is. This was a nice standalone novel to accompany the other books in the Submissive Series.

This is by far the lowest rating I have given a book written by Tara Sue Me. Usually I love her story’s and can get right into them. However the format for this book made it almost unenjoyable and hard to read. It was very small and had ALOT of mistakes in it. Almost as if she forgot she had a deadline for the book and wrote it very fast.
Not to say the story wasn’t enjoyable. It was. It was just really hard to read.

This was such a quick read and I was sad it was not longer or more flushed out since I had been waiting for Kate and Fritz's book for so long. I love the Submissive series and it was great to have my favorite characters back and the story is what you can expect from Tara but it was more of the highlights or the quick and dirty run down of their story.

I still would give it 3.5/4 stars because I love the couple and story but wanted more from it!

This didn’t read true as a TSM book. It was disjointed, was poorly written in spots, glanced over parts that should’ve been rife with details, and seemed out of order at times. It’s not what I’ve come to expect from this author, and I admit to skimming because I wasn’t engaged. My criticism aside, I will give her another chance because I loved Abby and Nathaniel’s story so much. That kind of writing can’t be a fluke.

Beautiful story..

Fritz and Kate’s journey is simply lovely. I enjoyed the drama, the passion, the discovery and the love. It was refreshing to watch such a strong man open his heart, get hurt, and then recover so beautifully in words and deed. Kate is lost and Fritz helps her to find her true self. They have great chemistry and hot sex, but more importantly a real bond that builds for one another and turns into something more. Well done Tara Sue Me!

Kindle ebook

This short is about Fritz & Kate. I’m trying to decide between 3 & 4 stars. I really wished the story had been more fleshed out. It could have been about 25 more pages & overcome what I saw as it’s biggest flaw—not enough insight into Fritz’ past. From previous books, we all know about Kate, but Fritz has been a mystery. Unfortunately, we only get a tiny bit of his past. Still, a good read.

"Her skin is flawless and beautiful and yet I know her inside
is even more lovely.
That she is mine never fails to amaze me.
I am unworthy to have such a woman as mine, but I will
treasure and protect her and love her for all of our days.
I never expected you to be mine. How is it possible you are?
Am I dreaming?
If I am, let me sleep. For I have found my heart’s desire. And
I am hers forever."

I really love this series, although, this particular book was the most difficult to read due to the graphic nature and D/S role of humiliation and degradation. It was so far out of my comfort zone, however, in saying that, I think she dominated (no pun) the topic and gave the scenes and characters incredible depth.

18+ not much to say about this book other than it was very wholesome and unexpected. This is the first time in this series were I didn’t like it that much. The spice was not doing it that much for me. The book is fast paced and short tho. Mentor’s match is a standalone in the submissive series that follows kate and Fritz.

By chapter 3, I’m thinking this book is becoming quite predictable.

Anyone else had a drill sergeant tone while reading chapter 5?

Overall, a bit of a snooze fest. While it is listed as a standalone, I would suggest reading the book for context to tie in with the rest of the series. But, that’s the only reason.

Original absorbing BDSM love story

As Mentor's Match demonstrates, Tara Sue Me is a phenomenal writer. Kate and Fritz come alive within the pages of the book. The storyline was a unique fascinating view of BDSM unlike many of the books that have come out in recent years.

I didn't care for this one. The beginning was pretty much fade to black which feels like a cop out in an erotic novel. A lot of the people in this woman's life seem very toxic and uncaring of her feelings. I didn't hate it but it wasn't good.

Not my favorite. It had its moments that I loved but there just wasn’t enough of it. I understand that Kate was now finding her new way after leaving cole and engaging with fritz. Just wish it had a little bit more spark.

This seemed more like an outline than a novella or novel. The many grammatical mistakes were odd, but mostly I was annoyed and quite disappointed by how surface-level and underdeveloped (including the main characters) were.
