King is my first read by Kerri Ann and it wont be the last. I discovered a compelling story, featuring perfectly flawed characters that grew up on me.

From the first sentences, the ton is set, dark and gritty.

Oubliette is a bartender at a club owned by the Four Horsemen MC. She witnessed something she shouldn't have and become the Broken Bows' (another ruthless motorcycle club) captive. At the hands of Busta, her handler, she doesn't cover; her sassy and feisty personnality put her in that predicament, but will that help her save her life?

Busta is an intriguing character. Enforcer of the Broken Bows, he seems more caring than what he shows. Oubliette caught his eye from the beginning but her selflessness and strength definitely drew him in. King isn't a romance as feelings don't really have their place here. Though they're no denying the intensity of Oubliette and Bursta's relationship, the storyline's more oriented toward the loyalty to their clubs and the mystery surrounding Busta.

King is a very satisfying read, I had a great time reading this fast paced story, a true battle of will and battle of words. Thanks to a well led mystery and a jaw-dropping twists Keri Ann delivered here an interesting first installment.

I loved this book! I love the MC Romance genre. It has really grown on me. This is the first book in a new series, which after reading this book I am so excited for!!! Busta is the enforcer at the Broken Bows MC. Obi is a girl after my own heart. She is a bartender at a rival MC club. She is kidnapped and Busta is her babysitter. Obi is feisty and doesn´t back down from anyone even the ¨enforcer¨ Busta gets a piece of her mind which makes her such a great character. I love when a woman can hold her own! This book was a page turner I could not get through it fast enough. I wanted to know what was going on. I love when a book is like that. This book is filled with drama and action. Not as much romance as I would have liked. But I feel like this book is a set up for the rest of the series. This book left a cliffhanger. I cant wait for the next book!!! I loved the authors writing style. This wasn´t your typical MC Romance book and that is what makes it to great!

Holy crap, the amount of crazy that I just read has left me completely speechless. This isn't your normal MC Romance. This MC is dark and twisted without many morals at all. I was questioning Busta's motivations the whole time. Why is he in this MC still? Why is he doing what he is doing? Why isn't he doing something to help?

I was hooked to this book. It was so crazy and twisted that I couldn't NOT put it down. I had to see how everything would play out. Oubliette is such a strong woman that isn't about to be broken but how much can one person take? Seems things just get worse and worse until Busta or Oubliette ends up having to do something.

I have to get more of this series and these characters soon!!! I'm dying to find out how their story plays out.

This book will blow your mind. Obi is taken captive by a rival MC and Busta is her watcher. He has a few secrets of his own but on the outside, he is to be feared. Obi doesn’t know what will happen to her but Busta seems to have taken a liking to her. This book unfolds making you patiently wait for the next. Awesome writing.

When Oubliette is kidnapped after seeing a horrible event in the back alley of the bar she works at, she is thrust into a violent world that she never suspected. Unfortunately she is so attracted to her captor. Busta is given the job to guard and extract information from Oubliette but he sees her strength and fire, he wants more from her than information. This was a good read but there are some brutal moments that causes Oubliette to lose herself a bit. I can't wait for the next book to explore more of their story.

This is one deliciously dark and gritty book, and I loved it. I haven't read any books by this author before, but you can guarantee that will be fixed asap.

The characters in this book were phenomenal, they were both hard headed stubborn people, and I loved watching them butt heads. I am on the edge of my seat though. I desperately want Pawn. I need to know what happens to Oubliette and Busta. This is one story you don't want to miss out on.

So I have to say this book confused the hell out of me at first. It was like walking into the middle of a movie and having to figure out what was going on. I have to say it took me a couple chapters to figure out what was going on. And even then I was scratching my head.

Busta... Well, I liked him. He is a complicated guy. But he seems to have a good head on his shoulders and doesn't like exactly what is asked of him but he has to do it. You know the whole MC code. The guys he is involved with are interesting and Busta doesn't seem to trust them all but you will have to read to figure that out.

Oubliette.... or Obi as Busta calls her is stuck in a place she wants nothing to do with. She is a bartender for a rival MC and is taken, hostage by Busta and his MC to find out what information she has. Needless to say, she finds out more information then she gives. I have to say I feel her pain and it hurts.

There are some triggers in this story I was not expecting. But it brings to light some issues that are needed in this book to make it good. I enjoyed this story and am excited to read Pawn next. I will read 'The 7' so maybe I understand the beginning better.

This is the first book I’ve read by Kerri Ann, and at first, I was very intrigued. The start of the book is full of wow moments, and I really thought I would love reading this one. But the more I read, the more things didn’t seem to make sense. I’m not sure if I should’ve read something else before this one or not, because I found a lot of inconstancies that left me confused. Even after finishing the book, I’m still left wondering about a lot of things, and these plot holes and even small things left unsaid, made my reading experience lacking.
Overall, King was good, if you can overlook the parts missing. The story-line was a great idea, but I felt as if the final product wasn’t its best.

4.5 stars. Now this is a serious MC story that you don't get very often in this genre and a great start to a new series. I love MC stories and series and it seems that most are some lighter version than how I think true MCs operate. I have no real knowledge of MC inter workings other than Sons of Anarchy (so much love for this show and my man Jax) but this story seems a more likely version than the watered down ones. I'll start with the writing because this is my first by this author. I love it! I could hear how these rough, dangerous criminals would talk in real life. You are immediately immersed into their life and MC politics of the Bows. At first it's a lot to keep track of with all the brothers and the double names and the rival MCs that come flying at you fast but as I settled into this terrific story it narrowed down to the drama of the moment for the Bows and the fabulous romance between our hero Busta and the feisty, smart Oubliette. You have to read their story! Busta has a mysterious past when the story begins that makes you want to know how he became who he is. He was born into the life but there's more. Obi was on the sidelines of the life working as a bartender for a rival MC's gentleman's club until she's kidnapped by the crazy Bow's VP and Busta take charge of her. There's much strife within the Bows and with their rivals that drive the storyline. But the romance between our lovers is the sweet spot. There are so many WTF and OMG moments that will leave you stunned and craving more. The plot twists and surprises will give you whiplash and keep you turning the pages and the cliffhanger is unbelievable. The take on the brothers' archery prowess and requirements for club membership was new and different. Not sure about that but it's original. It's madness, mayhem and a much darker version of a MC story but it's fantastic. I can't wait for the next story. Bring on Rook!

Wow! A fantastic read!
This is a story that has many twist and turns. Obi is kidnapped by a rival MC and is constantly watched by a huge, threatening man named Busta. He is a feared man, as many beaten and caged women react badly to his close proximity. Obi fears what will happen and Busta seems to be paying her more attention than the others.
This is a suspenseful read, very dark. Obi is a strong character and Busta has many layer to unfold and secrets in his ruthless character. A thrilling read and definitely an awesome page turner. I loved this instalment as it is a cliffhanger and can’t for the next. I highly recommend this book!

The only thing people should always know is you don't mess with the mc, Oubliette works for one mc but now she is a captive of another and has to deal with their enforcer Busta. Well Busta and Oubliette are drawn to each other but Busta has always put his club first.

Oh boy... Guess what I'm about to embark? Oh goody... Another MC series... Hell yeah. And guess what... It's a new author... I'm happy.. So so happy...
So like I said Kerri Ann is a new author to me and let's just say that I'm hooked. I've read the prequel for this book and let me tell you that she's amazing. Her writing is raw and intense, wild and passionate... Dayum... The perfect combination.
King is the first book from the Broken Bows MC and sweet baby Jesus... This book explores the lifes of Oubliette and Busta.
Oubliette is a bartender at a bar owned by the Four Horsemen MC. She knows what that life can bring and doesn't take shi*** from no-one. But being the witness of a crime she couldn't believe the turn her life would get.
Busta is an enforcer for his MC and that means to protect his club members at all costs.
When he was given the task to watch over Oubliette and gather all the info his club demanded, he knew that he was screwed but he did it anyway and now...
Stunned doesn't even cover the way I was when this book ended. Seriously. It was something alright...
Amazing plot, super engaging, dark and intense.
I looked like a crazy person because the need to keep reading was so intense that it made me read it in one go. I'm serious.
There I was, reading a book, thinking one thing and then boom. I was hit...
I can't say what that was because I refuse to spoil.
Reading this book resembles to riding the most tumultuous rollercoaster in the world. I'm serious, one chapter you were given an insight and the next one you're questioning everything.
Seriously Kerri... You had to end it that way... Thank God I have the next books to devour...

Where do I even really begin??? I'm still kinda at a loss of words for this book. First off, I love MC books. One of my favorites to read ever. This one had all the drama, tension, and hotness that only bikers can provide. I enjoyed the story. But at times I was so confused. If felt like all of the characters in the story were introduced at the same time and was a little hard to keep up with. Other than that I really enjoyed it. I liked the secondary characters as much as the mains and they played a vital role in this entire story. I cant wait to see how the rest of the books play out because I just HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!

Oubliette has information that he wants but it is something she won't give. Even if it means her release and helping others. She won't be a part of this hell, though she can't see a way out. He is arrogant, ruthless, harsh, and a complete prick. Busta is a butt. Though there is something about him that feels redeemable. She needs to find a chink in his armor.

Busta lies to everyone. He is so good at it now. He doesn't know where the truth starts. As Enforcer of the MC his job is to protect the club at all costs. They day they ask him to watch over Oubliette, the sexy bartender from the Four Horsemen, he knew this would be difficult. That she would be hard to resist. He thought he could get the intel. That he cove save her and contain the lie. He was wrong. She ignites a fire within him that he cannot hope to control, and her strength in the face of defeat consumes him. To save her, he may chance everything. His life, his future....his club. Who will win this war of wills??

King is the first book in The Broken Bows MC Duet. You should expect a cliffhanger and I will tell you that it is a pretty big one. I loved these two characters but oh my at the names. I actually had to google how to say Oubliette. It was driving me crazy not to know exactly how to say her name. Thank you You Tube. It's french and there is a video that says it!! I was a happy camper. Busta is the enforcer for the Broken Bows MC. His club president has cancer and is dying and someone has just attacked a shipment and stolen it and Busta is on a mission to find out who. He meets with the Four Horsemen at their strip club and sees Oubliette for the first time. The attraction to her is instant. However she sees some things she shouldn't and ends up in a cage with Busta guarding her trying to get information about the Four Horsemen out of her. He is trying his best to be awful to her but she can see in his eyes that he really is not a bad person. At this point you'll start trying to figure out just what is going one. I am not going to tell you. You just have to read and find out. But I will say this book is absolutely amazing. It's dark and gritty and has you on the edge of your seat. Or at times shocked and gasping. I think this is one of the best MC books I have read in a while that was dark and kept me reading like a maniac. This too is my first book by Kerri Ann. I so can't figure out why I haven't read her before. You can be though now that I will always be on the look out for her books. I so can not wait for The Pawn coming in August. I just have to know what happens with these characters I have come to adore.

So I will admit I have had author Kerri Ann's books sitting on my TBR list for awhile now and have just never gotten around to reading them. Until this book.... This book called to me.... Maybe because I'm an MC junkie.... Or maybe I just wanted to read her debut in the MC genre.... I'm not quite sure what it was or if at this point I really care anymore. I'm just glad I gave this book a chance. I'm still left reeling from this book with my jaw hanging open so lets see if I can get the words down for it!!!!

I'm going to do this review a bit differently than my other reviews. As I just said above I'm an MC book junkie. I have an MC book obsession, seriously that's about all I read anymore. I'll throw in other type's of books here and there. But mainly its just MC. If you read MC books, if you like MC books, or if your just starting out with them. I want to say that this book is a bit different than other MC books. At least to me this book just seemed to be on a whole different level, its darker and grittier.

Oh Busta.... The man you love to hate... Or maybe the man you hate to love.... He's a man who's finds himself in a difficult position with his club and with Oubliette. He finds himself for the first time in a while having to make the decision if his club comes first or a woman. He's a man who's rough and gruff on the outside. But you can tell he's soft and caring in the inside. He's also a man that's carrying around secrets.

Oubliette.... Oubliette..... Or Obi, as Busta likes to call her.... I think through the most of the book I was trying to figure out how to say her name. Which kind of distracted me from her. But anyways she's a young woman who finds herself in danger because of something she witnessed. Also because of her association with another club. I will say this though she wasn't just some weak pushover, she has an inner strength that I admired.

I really enjoyed this book from start to finish and it kept me turning the pages. I did not want this book to finish. As mentioned at the start of this review, Author Kerri Ann has written a story that will leave your jaw hanging open and reeling. I think the only downside to this book is that Busta's secret was a pretty easy one to figure out (at least for me it was), I think I had him figured out when it became obvious that he had a secret. But other than that there wasn't anything else.... Oh wait yeah there is it ended that's what.... I will warn you though this book ends on a cliffhanger, if you don't enjoy cliffhangers than I suggest you wait reading this until the second part of this duet comes out!!!!

I'm giving this book 4.5 Stars out of 5!!!!

Obi was witness to something that she wasn't meant to see, and it landed her as a prisoner of a rival MC. She's in a lot of trouble, but even so, she won't give into her captor no matter how much it's better for her. Busta is the enforcer for the Broken Bows MC, and Obi's handler while she's being held captive. He plays the hard a** on the outside, but inside he's against everything going on, but doesn't know how to stop it, not to mention he's loyal to his MC. Yeah that's basically all the I can give away about the plot, as it's more suspense than romance, not to mention a darker read. There's no doubt that Busta is a complicated man, as his inner monologue shows him more than just a mean enforcer. Not to mention, Obi & Busta have a intensity to their interactions, but neither is going to sell out their perspective clubs. The twists are insanely intense (yeah that's a word that I can't help but using some form of more than once), and just when I was getting my footing after one of them, another smacked me upside the head, which in turn flipped the f-bomb dropping switch in me. And that ending?! OMG I'm still very jacked up about it, as I have a million more questions now, so I have to add the brilliant Kerri Ann to the list of authors trying to KILL ME, while hash tagging her #EVILWHORE FOREVERMORE! The next part can't come out quickly enough for my peace of mind, but while I spin in circles waiting, I'll end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING King to all brave enough, as it's not for the faint of heart!

King is the first book in the Broken Arrows Duet, its gritty and it takes 1%ers to a whole new level one that I have never experienced before.

Oubliette is a bar Manager for the Four Horseman MC she works hard and treats everyone respect. When she gets herself into a situation that brings her face to face with Busta, the enforcer for the Broken Arrows MC. Her life is on the line and Busta is put in a position that he never wanted to be put in.

Oubliette is a strong woman who speaks her mind, she doesn’t let anyone dictate her life but is willing to give up her life for the sake of innocent people. Busta is a hard-headed biker that doesn’t relish in every aspect of being a 1%er, he has his boundaries.

This is my first Kerri Ann novel and I am taken back but the brutality of this book, reading a pure 1%er novel has defiantly put me on the spot and opened my eyes to a whole different MC lifestyle. Kerri’s writing is fantastic and she taken this story to a whole new level.

I personally am still up in the air about this book as it has left on somewhat of a cliff hanger not knowing how this story ends, I am awaiting the 2 part of the book and hope that I can have all my answers by the end.

King started off a little jerky, writing style wise, but it either got better or I just got used to it because once this book grabbed me I didn't put it down until I had finished it. The Broken Bows are not a "nice" club. They wear the 1% patch and boy do they deserve it. Busta ends up "babysitting" Oubliette when she is basically kidnaped by his VP. It all gets even worse though when yet more trouble hits the club and Busta questions where his loyalty lies.

OMG I don't even really know what to say about this book. I mean that in a good way though, but honestly this book is kinda messed up, as in dark, and with an ending that has me eagerly awaiting part two. Make sure to read Rook at the end. I believe it was previously called Envy, The 7 as it was part of an anthology but has been added at the end of King as it runs concurrently with the story and needs to be read before reading part two, Pawn.

King (The Broken Bows Book 1) What a Bombshell! The tone is set quickly as a dark, raw, & gritty read. A sheer fast paced, jaw dropping, heart pounding, and thrilling ride that will keep you at the edge of your seat till the very end. Character's are a variety with a compelling female lead with a saucey sarcastic side, a male lead who is a alpha biker with a softer side kept hidden, & a variety of supporting character's with their own dynamics. I read every single book this author has written and every book she writes gets even better than the one before which is rare because I'm in awe as I loved all her other 5* books so I just can't fathom that each time the next one gets more jolt moments. Especially, with her first crack at MC being flawlessly composed. The cliffhanger ending is without a doubt one of the best cliffhangers. I'm about to blow a gasket as I'm one foot in grave to see what happens in the next novel. Fabulous beginning to a new series. Looking forward to reading the next novel in this explosive series.

The dark side of the MC, dark brothers, dark deeds. Oubliette isn't part of the club, although she does work for them. When she sees something she shouldn't she is taken hostage by a rival club. Her experiences are horrific. Can she stay strong and get through it--alive and whole?

Busta had seen her and wanted her. There was just something about her. It killed him that he was the one who would expose her to those evil dark ways. She thinks she sees another side to him--is there one?

Although this is titled King, we don't meet up with him until near the end of the book. How does he fit into the puzzle?

If you are expecting to see some redeeming sides to these guys you're gonna have to search hard. If you're a fan of the hardcore one percenters this is the one for you. Never a dull page.

This author is new to me and she hooked me very quickly into this story.

Busta is the enforcer for the Broken Bows MC, SAN Bernardino Chapter which has quite a few problems of its own. He is entrusted with the job of babysitting Oubliette, a bartender from another MC’s Gentleman’s Club but it is so much more as he finds out.

Oubliette is such a strong, sassy character you can’t help but really like her. Busta is too, he is really torn between his loyalty for his club and what he sees as right. Jazzy, a character from another MC, is so gutsy and defiant. She is ready to stand up to anybody and tackle even the meanest of the mean enemies, she has enormous spunk. King? Who is he? Good question and one we only have answered at the end of this story...so you need to read it sorry! 😉

There certainly is a lot of things going on both in the scenes and behind the scenes making for one very intriguing story. This is definitely not a romance, well this part anyway! There is loads of drama and some incredible action as well. The thing I really enjoyed about this book is that it is a very different MC story, great concept.

With its fast-paced storyline and being very easy to read you’ll find it difficult to put this book down. Warning though it is a cliffhanger and is continued in Pawn, however, the author does suggest you read The 7, Envy, as it also deals with Obi and Busta’s story, before reading the next book!

"I look into those deep green pools. I thought they were enticing and beautiful, but now all I see is an abysmal ocean floor. Dark, tainted, unfriendly and unaware of how soulless he's become."

The Author's first crack at MC left me white knuckling my kindle due to the sheer fast paced, gritty, raw, real, heart-pounding, fast moving thrill ride that is King. It checked all my boxes, strong female with snark and bite, alpha biker with a well contained soft side, oodles of characters I loved and loved to hate, and non-stop action to keep me glued to my seat. Intertwined with characters I met before, I've been dying for this story and I was not disappointed!! I'm dying for the next installment to see what happens next!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!

Meet Busta - Lucius. He grew up in the MC life and lives and breathes it. He´s the enforcer for the Broken Bows, San Brenardinao Chapter. They´re a 1%er club and deal in many illegal affairs.
Oubliette is a quirky bartender in a rival club. Because she´s at the wrong place at the wrong time and can´t stay out of others business, she´s now in a world of trouble of her own.
She´s kidnapped and held by the Broken Bows.
And Busta is her prison guard. Only he can´t get her ot of his head. He´s torn between attraction and duty.
King is a great summer and beach read with a captivating story and great characters. King is a darkish read and shows the ugly and criminal, ruthless MC side.

OMG I loved this book!

I am off to read Envy, The 7, before the next book comes out Pawn. Such a different MC book and soo good. Intriguing, complex, interesting and thought provoking.

Kerri Ann is a new author to me but not for long! I am delighted to have found this brilliant writer who knows how to create interesting characters that make you work at visualising them. I changed my mind a bit because the descriptions were of their character traits more than physical traits, very clever. She also knows how to weave a mystery into a story with various complexities. Well done.

Bring on book 2.

When feisty Obi is kidnapped by a rival MC, she has the Enforcer Busta acting as her babysitter. This is a well written story, which starts off a tad slow but soon enough turns into a dark, gritty, raw story, which is filled with suspense, mystery, twists, secrets, which all lead to a compelling page turner, which had me hooked and intrigued throughout. I look forward to reading the next book in this new series, and I highly recommend this authors’ work for all readers.

Strap yourselves in, Kerri Ann is going to take you on a wild ride with some delicious bikers! This was my first read from Kerri Ann and what a ride it was.
Oubliette is a self made woman. She put herself through school, and then managed to get a great job bartending at the club owned by the Four Horsemen. They may be the rough kind of motorcycle club but Oubliette holds her own. She has the respect of the members and runs the bar her way. That is until she's taken and thrown in with a rival club looking to get an up on the Horsemen. And she's the key to all their information.
Busta is a life long member of the Broken Bows, destined to patch in since he was a kid. Riding is his life and he'll never turn on his back on his brothers. As Enforcer, Busta sometimes does jobs he hates for the benefit of his club, but that's all different when Oubliette comes crawling out of the car with his VP. Their club is changing and Busta needs to pixk a side. Can he keep his hands to himself for the sake of his club? What could a bartender really tell them?
This was a wild ride from start to finish! Kerri Ann leaves no rock unturned when she wants to throw you in full throttle. Broken Bows MC is just starting in their battle and Busta and Oubliette get that going in a hot, steamy story bound to get your blood flowing. You'll be begging for another book before you've even finished King. I couldn't put this story down, next thing I knew it was the middle of the night and I'm begging for one more chapter! This isn't a club you'll want to miss. Broken Bows will worm their way into your heart, even with all their rough and tough ways. 5/5

Ok, so this is the first Kerri Ann book that I have read and I picked it because the blurb sounded interesting. This book is a dark MC read that will have you questioning a lot of things. I will be honest I almost DNF this book but I kept reading because I wanted to know the end and I knew that there had to be more to the story that what was first portrayed. Busta and Oubliette are throw together in a tough situation and fight their attraction to each other. Honestly I don't want to say more because this book has some major twist and turns. I am still not sure how I feel about this book but I would give it 4 stars since it left me wanting to finish the book and read the sequel. This book does end on a cliffhanger just FYI. So if you are looking for a sweet and sappy book with a happy ever after this book is not for you but if you are looking for a dark read that will keep you guessing with each page then this is the book for you.

Dark and twisted at its finest!! I was intrigued by Busta from the start even though I wasn't a huge fan. He grew on me as the story went and even though he's a big tough biker I found him to be very sensitive though he doesn't show it. Obi, as Busta likes to call her even though it drives her crazy, is amazing. I loved her instantly!! She is strong throughout this whole book even when it would have been easier to give up. I highly recommend this book so buckle up as the twists and turns will keep you on the edge and leave you begging for more!!

OMG I don't even really know what to say about this book. I mean that in a good way though, but honestly this book is kinda messed up, as in dark, and with an ending that has me eagerly awaiting part two. Make sure to read Rook at the end. I believe it was previously called Envy, The 7 as it was part of an anthology but has been added at the end of King as it runs concurrently with the story and needs to be read before reading part two, Pawn.
