Never allowing anyone too close, Ethan Stone has lived a solitary life since he was disowned by his family when he discovered their darkest secret. He spends his days as a quiet sentinel, protecting others to make up for the ones he didn’t. Love, friendship, and family have no place in his world.
Ben Cronin is a warrior, haunted by a past he excelled at, which almost robbed him of his humanity. He became a professional bodyguard to save lives rather than take them. And he has loved his stoic colleague, Ethan Stone, from the day they met.
When Ethan’s sister suddenly comes back into his life in desperate need of his help, Ethan doesn’t hesitate to do whatever he needs to do. To his surprise, Ben—the man who makes him want things he shouldn’t—is right there beside him, risking everything to help him and finally coaxing Ethan’s feelings back to life.
A desperate race to find his missing nieces leads Ethan to a place he never thought he’d be and takes Ben exactly where he wanted to be—in a life filled with love and desire. But how long can they keep it when evil stalks their every step?
Karrie lives in one of Australia’s sunniest places with her husband and three sons, though she hates the sun with a passion. She dreams of one day living in the wettest and coldest habitable place she can find. She’s been writing stories in her head for years but has finally managed to pull the words out of her head and share them with others. She spends her days trying to type her stories on the computer without disturbing her beloved cat curled up on the keyboard. She knows reads far too much, but can’t seem to stop herself. Saved is her debut novel.
3.5 stars rounded up to 4 because this one worked a bit better for me than the first one.
Well this one was a little more complex but every bit as good as the first one...
Ethan Stone and Ben Cronin are two of the body guards that we met in 'Shipped' the first book in this series and we met this pair when the security company that they worked for assigned them to protect Lucas and Ryan.
'Sentinel' for all intents and purposes picks up where 'Shipped' left off with the focus shifting from but not totally leaving Lucas and Ryan. Even though the imminent danger of a stalker to Ethan and Ryan has been resolve they're still in the limelight and while Ethan has resigned his position with the security company...for personal reasons, Lucas and Ryan have taken him on as their personal security guard. Meanwhile Ben's recovering from injuries received in 'Shipping' and this does not bode well for his next meeting with Ethan...a meeting that's coming sooner than either of them are expecting or ready for.
It's a desperate call from Ethan's estranged sister that brings everyone back together. Frantic to get her daughter's back Maggie calls the one person she'd always looked up to and relied on until their parents drove him out of their life and her's...her big brother, Ethan. It's without hesitation that Ethan goes to his sister's side only to be confronted by so many truths that he'd never known but more important than anything else is the fact that he has twin nieces...barely 2 years old and desperately in need of their Uncle Ethan to bring them home where they'll be loved and protected. With so much going on the last thing Ethan expects is to be confronted with Ben Cronin the man he'd walked away from and left lying in a hospital bed and even less than seeing him, Ethan has no expectation of that same man stepping up determined to help him and to Ethan's surprise proving to be a far more valuable ally than he could have hoped for as Ben reveals his past to Ethan confirming what Ethan had long suspected...Ben's got a past that not only makes him a valuable ally but a very dangerous enemy to those who would try and keep Ethan from bringing his nieces home where they belong.
I really liked Ethan and Ben in the first book and while we didn't see a lot of them there was enough interaction to hint at the possibility that there could be so much more between them than a working relationship if they'd just give it a chance. But when the chance arises Ethan walked away leaving Ben both hurt and confused.
When Ethan arrives in Casper, Wyoming the last person he expects to see is Cameron...Ben's twin brother so needless to say when the man is face to face with Ben...he's pretty much left speechless. While Ben may be the smaller of the two there's not a timid or reserved bone in his body and he's not afraid to let Ethan know where things stand, but he's also not one to hold a grudge.
For as much as I liked Lucas and Ryan, I would have to say that Ethan and Ben are my favorites. Overall I enjoyed the story more but I just generally liked the interaction between this pair more and while there were a couple of things at the end that might have made me roll my eyes...it was just a tiny bit...really, just an isty, bitsy eye roll and certainly not something that was enough to detract from the story and there might have been a tug or two on my heartstrings now that I think about it. It was sweet...not sugary sweet more like the kind of sweet that makes you sigh a little as you're reading.
Just like the first book there was a solid plot here for both the romance and the mystery/thriller part of the story that very nicely straddled the line and while providing an interesting and engaging story stayed out of the realm of too much...as in to complex, too busy, to convoluted...simply too much to enjoy. I got to read this one and enjoy the story while staying engaged without being overwhelmed by everything that was going on.
Although the ending of this story felt complete and I could stop here if I wanted to, I'm ready and waiting for the next part of this journey to see who's next and what we can expect from them. Honestly, I'm hoping for a story about Ben's twin brother Cameron... the end of this story left him with a rather interesting predicament that I'd love to be fly on the wall for as it unfolds.

A copy of 'Sentinel' was graciously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
It took me several weeks to read Sentinel. I kept picking it up and setting it down after reading a chapter or two. There’s nothing intrinsically wrong with it save for the fact it’s boring. And it really shouldn’t have been. Sentinel is the second in the Until You series and follows Shipped. This book isn’t a sequel, but it does reference events from Shipped and has characters that carry over from that novel. So while you can easily enjoy Sentinel as a standalone, it probably benefits from being read in order.
The plot is fairy solid and well rounded. The overall story is intriguing; the idea of a fanatical cult leader is always going to grab my attention. But Sentinel suffers from pacing issues. Instead of an action packed race against time, it often reads as rote and flat. Which was surprising because on paper it had all the hallmarks of an interesting manhunt. Unfortunately, those hallmarks never materialized and I struggled to maintain my interest.
While I think book was intended to be a stand alone in the series, I feel like I missed a lot by not reading the first book. The blurb indicated these were emotionally distant men but they were anything but that in this book. Additionally, the prior 2 year work relationship between Ben and Ethan was very confusing and maybe I would have understood it better from the first book.
For instance, what kind of work partners were they? Ben says he was in love with Ethan practically the minute he met him and yet, Ethan had no idea Ben grew up in Las Vegas. These guys know nothing about each other. To go with that, as far as I could tell, Ethan also had no idea that Ben had any romantic feelings for him and based on the fact that Ben knew nothing substantial about Ethan, his declarations of love rung very shallow. Ethan, after abandoning Ben from the end of the first book, gets an angry kiss from Ben when they accidentally meet up again and suddenly they are both emotionally and sexually connected like they've been together for 20 years. The whole relationship did not make sense to me. Especially since Ethan had no intention of ever seeing Ben again, ever, he just walked away from the guy when he was in the hospital begging Ethan to come visit. Ben deserved better than Ethan.
The rescue plot fell flat for me also. Satellite phones do not go out for days at a time and weather rarely effects them. That was just one of the plot issues I had. There were so many more during the hike in, out, back, out, etc.
2.5 stars rounded up. I had high hopes for two men that were disconnected from their emotions, finding each other, working toward a connections but these guys were sappy from the first few interactions. This book although not very sophisticated writing was good, it just wasn't what I was expecting from the blurb. If I hadn't been reading this for a Review, I would have skimmed some of this book.

Sentinel is a gripping, emotional story by Karrie Roman.
Ethan is reunited with Ben, after leaving without a word years ago. Together they go on a mission to find Ethan's sister's twin daughters who were being held by a cult. The girls are just 2 years old.
The whole story is compelling, with a plot that's intriguing, and a wonderful flow. This is a complex story involving some tough issues.
Ethan's running from his past, and has been hiding for a while. His story is difficult to deal with, as he is living with guilt that he shouldn't be carrying.
And the cult part of the story, which is an extremely large portion of the story, is written so realistically, with compassion, tact and understanding. As we are all aware of cults, and have read many stories of awful cults, this is just so darn emotionally charged.
As for Ethan and Ben's relationship, throughout the mission, they're able to reunite, but have some talking to do first. Wrongs need to be explained, forgiveness needs to be made, and they need to see if they are now on the same page.
This book contains mystery, suspense, danger, a cult, sickness and more. If reading about kids being stuck in a cult is on your do not read list, stay away from this one.
It is well done, keeping the reader fully engaged, with a great flow and an interesting plot.
much better than the first one, loved the story and the mc`s. only the rescue took a bit too long in pagetime. but a good story, only the instalove/lust between the mc`s is somewhat strange when you are in the bush, bush in the middle of a rescue mission and have only minutes to get going. but it is a novel, not real life.
it is a fun and fast reading book, about second chances
Now I need to pick up Shipped before the next book is released ;) Nothing like back-tracking...
Confession time... I've done it again. I picked up the second book in a series before reading the first. Even though I didn't feel lost at all while reading Sentinel, I still want to go back and read Shipped, the first book in the Until You series. Not just because I want to get to know Ryan and Lucas better, but because I want to see where it all began, especially for Ethan and Ben.
There was so much emotion in this story. My heart literally broke for Ethan. He had lost so much and even though he thought he was at peace with that - he had no idea how much more he had left to lose.
Then there was Ben... he had been in love with Ethan almost since the first time they met. There was nothing he wouldn't do for him, even slip back into the person he's tried so hard to leave in his past.
I could go on and on, but I'd end up rambling... and no one wants that. Just know that between the characters, the danger, the heat between Ethan and Ben, and the connection between the characters, Sentinel was hard to put down. Even though I haven't read Shipped - which I intend to fix really soon - I already know that Until You is going to be a series that I can't wait to continue.
I received Sentinel in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This was an awesome follow up to Shipped (book 1). We met Ethan and Ben as part of Lucas and Ryan's security team, and Ben got seriously hurt at the end. There was a reveal of information about Ethan's past which made him fear the reaction of Ben (whom he was having some feelings for) and he ran.
This starts off pretty much right where the last book ended--with Ethan running. A couple of weeks later, he gets a call from his sister who needs help, and Ben happens to be around for this. The two guys reconnect and Ben (who has been in love with Ethan for years) jumps to help Ethan. Ethan isn't able to hide from his feelings anymore and decides that he doesn't want to.
These two connect again early in the book and there isn't a lot of angst in the relationship. There is mystery and action and things that keep you on your toes, but as far as Ethan and Ben go, they are real solid as a pair. They communicate, they interact, and they are open. It was beautiful.
This books was so well written, just like Shipped before it. I loved the story, the characters, and the writing. I am very much looking forward to book 3. The story of Ben and Ethan getting together was finished in this book, but more action is coming down the road with a cliffhanger to get you excited for the next set of characters. Bravo all around.
I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC provided by IndiGo Marketing & Design
Although you could read this as a stand alone I really think you will enjoy it a lot more if you read book 1. The two MC's from book one play a fairly substantial role in this book and both the MCs of this book are introduced in book one. A lot of the events from book one are also mentioned in this book and I believe you may feel just a little lost or at least as if you were missing something if you haven't read the first book. Eventually, the author lets you know everything from book one but it isn't until at least 1/3 of the way through this book so it would be confusing in the beginning.
I loved Ethan and Ben in book 1 and I was really looking forward to their book. There were a lot of things I loved about this book but I do wish that it had taken just a bit longer for the two men to connect and begin their romantic relationship. Ethan is distant and not given to emotions in book one and honestly that was almost completely absent in this book. I wanted the process of Ethan opening up to be a bit slower and more realistic given his abrupt departure in the end of book one.
However, even though everything happened rather quickly I still really enjoyed the relationship between Ethan and Ben. They had a lot of chemistry and I enjoyed the byplay between them. The suspense portion was interesting if not always realistic. The pacing was well written and we meet and get to know a couple of additional secondary characters that I find intriguing. I admit their are a lot of coincidences that aren't all that realistic - Maggie living in the same town as Ben's brother, finding someone running away from the cult just when they needed all the intel to rescue the girls being the main two. It's also a bit unrealistic that they would be making out during the mission but this happens in a lot of books like this one. So if you are willing to suspend your belief for a few of these things the book is very enjoyable. I liked learning more about Ben and the reasons he had to let Ethan know about them. Overall, I found this entertaining and hot. I'm looking forward to learning more about both Cameron and Alex in future books.
A copy of this book was provided to me by the publisher with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion
At almost 40, Ethan, now a bodyguard after leaving his career in law enforcement, has had a long road as he tried to come back from the horror he had discovered too late that was being perpetrated by his own flesh and blood, his older brother Stewart, who was also a policeman. The knowledge of his brother's heinous actions had required Ethan to turn Stewart in to face prosecution and prison. Ethan's actions had caused a permanent rift between him and his parents, who had turned ther back on Ethan, instead choosing to stand steadfast by Stewart's side, completely unwilling to believe that their oldest son could be guilty of the things he had been convicted of. This also caused Ethan to lose touch with his sister, Maggie, as he turned inward to lick his wounds and try to get over his parent's betrayal. Years later, when Maggie asks for Ethan's help, he rushes to her side, only to realize that he has inadvertantly brought himself back into the hemisphere of his much younger prior workmate, Ben, another thing he was running from. Coming face to face with Ben's brother, Cameron, Ethan sees the anger the man has towards him and knows he left some unfinished business with Ben when Ethan ran away to the other side of the US. What follows is an extremely well written story that never slows down, taking this reader on a journey full of high emotions, including sadness, fear, adrenaline, grief and a reuniting of the two men who quickly find their way back to each other and a love neither thought the would ever have. Throw in kidnapping, a Jonestown-like cult, more sexual tension than you can shake a stick at and you have the recipe for an amazing 2nd installment of the series Until You by author Karrie Roman. This book was provided to me by Indigo Marketing Design for an unbiased, honest review.
This is the first book I have read by this author and it definitely won't be my last. I really enjoyed this story and I love the characters. It is well-written, fast-paced, has lots of action, is full of hot men and has an intriguing storyline. Ethan and Ben have been hiding their attraction from each other ever since they met and Ben is hurt and angry when Ethan leaves town without seeing him after he is shot. When they meet up again they are finally ready to admit their feelings for each other but first they have to rescue Ethan's young nieces after they are kidnapped. Ethan has so much to deal with and having Ben by his side is the only thing keeping him together. As they devise a plan to get the girls back they rely on their friends and Ben's brother Cameron to help them. They become much closer and learn a lot about each other during the rescue mission. There are several surprising twists and turns in this story and I love how everything turns out in the end. I wish I had read the first book before this one as it felt like I was missing a few key points. The secondary characters are wonderful and I look forward to reading more books in this series.

Wow. I really enjoyed this a lot. I received an ARC copy and this was honestly one of the best books I’ve read in a while. (First five star review in recent memory.) Memorable plot and characters. This is apparently the second book in a series but it isn’t necessary to have read the first one to enjoy this one still (now I need to go back and read the first one while waiting for #3!). Ben and Ethan have backgrounds working in the military and police respectively. In the previous book Ben had been hospitalized, and Ethan, afraid of his feelings, ditched him. In this book Ben tracks him down as Ethan’s terminally ill sister Maggie faces a crisis: her daughters have been kidnapped by their cult leader father. Ben and Ethan go off to rescue them, deepening their relationship in the process. I absolutely loved their individual personalities and the way they were written. I also adored their descriptions of the first dates they’d take the other on. I thought the plot was original and enjoyed the love scenes between the two of them. Looking forward to the third book - would love to get an ARC for that as well because I can’t wait lol! Awesome job!
Ethan couldn’t face Ben when his secrets were revealed and Ben was hurt because of it. He has wanted Ben for a long time. He ran as far as he could and only came back because his sister needed him. When he discovered that Ben was there too the confrontation wasn’t pleasant.
Ben had been in love with Ethan for two years. When Ethan left without a word, Ben was crushed. When they meet again it’s to find Ethan’s kidnapped nieces. They go into danger together. Learning along the way that they love each other.
This was a good story, full of action and some heartache. Ethan and Ben are good together. Their interactions are hot and sexy. I’m excited for Cameron’s (Ben’s brother) story.

I recieved an ARC from the publishers through Netgalley. Thank you, guys. I have again not done my research right and started to read the second book of the series without reading the first one first...Nevertheless, I quite enjoyed this book. I got to know the characters as the book proceeded and they managed to win a spot in my cold heart. This is a great m/m read and I quite recommend it to everyone who wants to read a story about two cinna rolls falling in love. I can't wait to reread it after I get my hands on the first book.
Great add to the series. Ethan and Ben's story is full of action and a intense connection you'll not want to put this one down. Each of these guys have a different side, they are different with makes them mix well. There is action, romance and some emotional moments that made the story flow. I loved this story and it had me guessing what would happen next, add in some great side characters and I can't wait for the next. Ethan Stone and Ben Cronin are private security guards for actors Lucas and Kyle (from Book 1-Shipped). After saving them from a burning building, Ethan passes out from smoke inhalation and Ben is shot, recovering in the hospital. When the paparazzi dig up dirt on Ethan's past, he's too worried about Ben's disappointment to see him and he takes off for another job.
Later when Ethan's sister calls needing help, he races to Wyoming and runs into Ben and Cameron, Ben's twin brother. It's not a happy reunion, though as Ben has been in love with him for years and Ethan walked away when he needed him the most.
Ben was awesome. I loved his cheesiness and the bad jokes. I loved how tactile he was and how sweet his temperament was with the children from the cult.
Both MC's were strong alpha types, but they put their emotions out there honestly and consistently. The story was intriguing, the characters were awesome and the tension was palpable. I was super excited to see a cliffhanger, knowing more is to come!

2.5, rounded up to 3 I read this as standalone but I'd recommend to start with the first book. Maybe then it works better for you. There is nothing really wrong with the book, the characters are interesting, the plot good, the writing is fine. Yet, after a promising start, it was too long drawn-out, somehow, or maybe I wasn't in the right mood for this book when I read it, I can't say. Thanks to publisher and author for providing a copy!
In Shipped (Book#1) Ben gets shot and Ethan abandons him, but it plagues him for his reasons why. Ben is a fun loving guy but Ethan leaving gutted him. Now all he has to do is get Ethan to see things a different light.
It takes the kidnapping of Ethan's nieces for Ethan to truly get his head out of his ass. Thankfully with the help of Lucas and Ryan (book 1) and Ben's brother Cameron and FBI agent, Alec things are able to work things out.
This is a romantic suspense with stubborn heroes. How can that go wrong? It can't. The more I get into this series the more I'm hooked.
