I have to say that this was not my favorite from this author. I usually love her books. This one seemed a bit blah. Thankfully, I know, even great authors have to have okay books too.
I enjoyed Beau and Lily's story. With each book in this series, we get to see the family traditions they enjoy together. Even with adversity and stressful situations love trudges through.
Her Cowboy Billionaire Bodyguard: Christmas in Coral Canyon: A Whittaker Brothers novel 4 is by Liz Isaacson. This fourth book follows the story of the Whittaker Brothers and it is very predictable in that the brother moves in to take care of the Whittaker Lodge, meets an eligible girl, falls in love, and finally wins the girl’s hand in marriage. It is very predictable; but Liz has a way of making the action so different with each brother that the idea seems to be unique and fresh. The characters are kept to a minimum and are very realistic and natural. The plot is always fun to follow. The book is a great one for reading romance that steers away from over treatment and doesn’t involve a raunchy scene or language. This book involves Beau Whittaker who had closed his law practice and now only works for women in all classes who need help, especially from their spouses. Lily Everett, one of the famous Everett sisters, has come to meet Beau and consider having him represent her. Her ex-husband has brought about five cases against her since their divorce was called final. It boils down to his wanting more money from her so he doesn’t have to work. Beau takes on her case and works with her to figure out how to destroy Kent. That Beau and Lily fall in love is just a wonderful addition to the excitement in the book.
A cowboy lawyer turned bodyguard for his clients...including the celebrity looking for a quick and quiet resolution to her problems. Can opposites Beau and Lily really attract this holiday season?
Beau Whittaker has watched his brothers find love one by one, but every attempt he's made has ended in disaster. He's carved more time for dating by leaving his busy law practice in favor of living out at Whiskey Mountain Lodge and providing private law help and professional bodyguard services for select clients. Not that he's dating, or even looking to date.
Lily Everett has been in the spotlight since childhood and has half a dozen platinum records with her three sisters. She's taking a break from the brutal music industry and hiding out in Wyoming while her ex-husband continues to cause trouble for her. When she hears of Beau Whittaker and what he offers his clients, she wants to meet him.
Beau is instantly attracted to Lily, but he tried a relationship with his last client that left a scar that still hasn't healed. Not only that, but he enjoys his quiet life at the lodge, with the horses, in small-town Coral Canyon. And a famous singer isn't going to choose to share that life with him. Can Lily use the spirit of Christmas to discover what matters most? Will Beau open his heart to the possibility of love with someone so different from him?
HER COWBOY.BILLIONAIRE. BODYGUARD....Liz Isaacson Beau back at the Lodge taking care of the horses, and trying to find the pieces of his soul. .A new client was coming, first site of her, rendered him speechless. For Lily, he was a big teddy bear of a man, making her heart thumping again, even though it had been along time. If her research was right he was the best, now to get rid of her ex, once and for all. Asking what type of jobs he now takes, "women that are in trouble", he stated simply. She wants a bodyguard, that’s what people she asked said about him. She would live there, remote location, would give her the protection she needed, fee when we win. Having finished the ice cream, pondering to take her or not, before checking out her name on the internet. For Lily telling her grandmother about him, and still wondering. She needed to hire him, and keep her grandparents safe, and get this chapter of her life closed. Has a new door opened, with them both at the lodge, the peace, and quiet there. Tending to the horses, and the healing they both need, before new beginnings were possible. Beautiful love story, of two people who have the scars of past hurts. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
Another winner by Liz. Beau Whittaker is the youngest of the Whittaker brothers, and the only one not married. He seems to be unlucky in love. He is a very good lawyer and a billionaire to boot. He got tired of his very busy law practice so he sold his home and office and moved to the family-owned Whiskey Mountain Lodge. He started a legal bodyguard service to help women who had problems with boyfriends of exes. He had fallen for his last client and she moved on without him so he is determined to not do that again. Lily Everett is a recording artist who has done her homework and found Beau was the best in the business. She is having problems with her ex-husband and needs his help. She has been in hiding over a year from Kent and is afraid he will hurt her family. So, she contacts Beau and makes an appointment with an alias name, not wanting anyone to know what she is doing. I recommend this book to all who like good clean reading with a happy ever after.
The final Whittaker brother has a story also. Beau is an attorney who decided that being a small-town attorney was no longer fun. Also, the lodge needed to have someone living in it since Andrew got married and left. So he left his practice, moved into the lodge and grew a bushy beard. But he still worked in the legal field but as someone to help women in distress.
Lily is a singer/songwriter whose ex-husband is trying to scam her out of more money. She also feels threatened by him. So, she decides to find the best attorney that can help her settle all of the law suits and get her ex out of the picture.
What I liked about this story was there was some suspense through out the entire story. You never knew if Kent, the ex, will show up and what he would do. Like the other stories about the Whittaker brothers, there is a very sweet love story going on. What made this story a bit different is they were both billionaires which made them both equals. It was a fun story to read.
I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review. I loved this book. Another great book in this series. Beau gave up his law practice to help women who are in trouble. Now he lives at the lodge and takes care of the horses. Lily is a famous singer and her ex is stalking her and has her tied up in lawsuits to get more money from her. She has been in hiding for over a year and is tired of it so he hires Beau to help her. Beau does not recognize her for who she really is. There is an instant attraction for both of them but Beau doesn't want to fall for another client and get hurt again. Neither can fight their feelings for very long. When her ex finds her she gets scared and leaves. Beau continues to work on her case but will he ever see her again? Will they both every tell the other how they really feel?
Beau is the last of the Whitaker clan to be single. He is an attorney who recently specializes in helping women who want to get away from an abusive spouse/boyfriend. He is contacted by a woman who wants to employ him. It turns out she is a famous singer whose ex won't live with the divorce agreement and keeps filing new motions for more money. She moves in with Beau at his resort and they develop feelings for one another. Beau works to get all of the cases dismissed. The last lady he took on to be a client, he fell in love with and when her cases were settled, she ran off in the middle of the night, leaving Beau with a broken heart. He doesn't want that to happen again. However, as Beau finishes 3 of the 4 cases, Lily decides to go home. What happens next? I received an ARC of this book and I am giving an honest review.
This was another sweet book in the Cowboy Billionaire series. Beau has the softest heart even though he is a lawyer, and is always trying to help people especially scared women. He had fallen in love with the last woman he helped with her case. Unfortunately once her case was finished, she snuck off in the middle of the night leaving him heartbroken. When Lily comes to his door seeking help from her ex husband, he is in awe of her beauty. He doesn’t know she is part of a sister singing group that is worth billions. His realities know who she is, but it makes no difference to him. I enjoyed watching Lily relax and fall in love with the peaceful country life. She also had a soft heart that didn’t want anyone hurt because of her. This was a good book that I encourage you to read. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
The last of the Whittaker brothers of Coral Canyon finds love around the holiday season. Beau, successful lawyer turned successful lawyer/bodyguard is hired by singer Lily to help her deal with her money grabbing stalker style ex-husband. I loved the fact that this is a story with a celebrity that not many people in Coral Canyon recognise, there's no treating her special because of what she does, but rather because they've friendly and like her. The romance is sweet and Beau is a surprising hero. When we first meet him he is described as looking like a hairy mountain man, but is surprisingly sweet and gentle and falls in love easily. This story of two slightly fractured hearts becoming whole again is well told and it is nice that all character have their happy ever after. I voluntarily agreed to read an advanced copy of this book.
Looking for a clean romance where through all the had life throws at you, you finally get the good you deserve - this is the story!
Beau a rare find indeed with intelligence, humor, loyalty and a huge heart. He effectiveness gets him found s that need to hide,he sheltered and the best lawyer so they can move forward. Liz married 4 and living a nightmare the next 5 finally becomes Beau client. Liz is a music superstar act of three sisters. The dynamics and the baggage they carry endear them to you. The sweetest romance gives you the aww moment....ups & downs and heat t the future brings - grab the book one of the series can be read alone. One of my favorite in the series. Violence 0 , Sex0
I enjoyed the four books in this series. However, I put off reading this last book for a bit, and I was wrong to do so. At the end of book 3 Beau was being matched with a character I did not like, and so I put off reading this one. Some others must have told the author a similar tale, for in this one, the other woman broke his heart, but she is long gone. Beau Whittaker and Lily Everett turned out to be a fab pairing. There are several typos that take time to ignore, such as Everett sister's, meaning "sisters." One thing that threw me off was the fact Beau was permitted to submit into court the signed statements of several people in his case against Beau. Anyone who watches Judge Judy with any regularity knows signed statements are not accepted as evidence because the people are not in court for the judge to question in these civil matters. LOL!
3.5 Stars I want to start off by saying that I did like this book, it wasn't as good as some of the others, but I did like it. The ending was probably the best part. Two things didn't sit well with me. First, there is a part near the beginning when Lily uses some therapeutic touch thing where she slides the negative energy off of his arm with her hands. It was just weird and didn't add anything to the story or come back up later. Secondly, parts of the story felt stale. I know Liz Isaacson can write well and often enjoy her alliteration and other literary gems scattered throughout the books. This one felt a little more like she was pushing through to finish so as to get started on the next book.
Her Cowboy Billionaires Bodyguard is part of the Christmas in Coral Canyon series by Liz Isaacson and brings us to the baby of the family Beau Whittaker. Beau is the brother that has never left Coral Canyon except to attend law school. He has ‘inherited’ Whiskey Mountain Lodge after each of his brothers had lived there and left to get married. Lily Everett was a famous singer who needed the best lawyer in Wyoming to with a lawsuit with an ex-husband, which Beau was. Lily had trust issues due to said ex and being extremely well known and Beau having trust issues after his last client stole his heart and left. Can these two broken souls find happiness and a way to resolve Lily’s ex-husband issues?
The main character is portrayed as a woman in hiding, a woman so desperate to remain undercover she switches phones routinely, hasn't heard the voices of family members for at least a year, and so forth. Big buildup all pointing (to my way of thinking) to a big, bad ex who would be far worse than what she's endured in the process of avoiding him. Sad truth of the matter was, I don't think the ex lived up to his end of the deal. That drove me crazy as a reader because the entire story hinged on the bad guy. Her extreme lengths in avoiding him. Her enforced proximity to and "dependence" on the future boyfriend. "Needing" a bodyguard. The missing pieces distracted me from the romance, such as it was.
Beau closes down his law office to live at the family-owned Whiskey Mountain Lodge. He doesn't need the money, but he now has a selective legal/bodyguard practice to protect and defend women in abusive relationships or situations. He fell in love and was dumped by his last client and vows not to make that mistake again. Then along comes Lily. And guess what?? He once again becomes romantically involved. Lily is a successful singer and trying to run from her stalker ex-husband who wants more alimony. Beau works hard to defend Lily while she's staying at Whiskey Mountain Lodge. The rest of the story is a bit predictable. It was enjoyable to read about the other Whittaker family members and staff at Whiskey Mountain Lodge.
t’s impossible to move forward when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder. Lily Everett, a famous pop singer and songwriter, is hiding from her ex-husband, who’s trying to squeeze her for more money. Beau Whittaker is a lawyer who helps women in trouble. He fell in love with his last client, only for her to sneak out in the middle of the night, wanting nothing more to do with him. As they work together to solve her legal issues, feelings take root—as does caution. This book, with its twists and turns, has the reader cheering for this couple to leave the past in the past and build a new future together. Can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out!
On a weekend designed for being thankful to the universe for the blessings we have, this was a perfect read – it even starts out with a Thanksgiving celebration. I’ve seen some people call this an ‘opposites attract’ story, but I don’t think Beau and Lily are all that different from one another. As a music superstar, Lily’s celebrity is very different from Beau’s quieter existence, but in every other important way the pair are quite similar. From their love of their families to their fears of being hurt in another relationship, Lily and Beau are a lot alike. And I enjoyed watching them stumble their way together. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
MARVELOUS SERIES What do you do on a perfectly nasty, rainy, windy day (think scuba gear over hip waders for going outside ;-P) when you don’t have to go ANYWHERE? Especially when you have just downloaded ALL of the Christmas in Coral Canyon books onto your kindle app... =) You binge-read the entire series! I’ve fallen in love with all of the characters-their strong, and sometimes not so strong, faith, their care of family and the understanding that family isn’t always people with whom you are related. What started out as a dreary day, has be a joyous time of meeting ‘new friends’ and watching them grow in their faith and fall in love. *Sigh :) It’s been a LOVELY day!
His client/girlfriend turned him down almost a year ago, and he's still not over it. She didn't just turn him down. He'd had her living in the lodge with him for her safety, and she just sneaked away in the middle of the night. Now he has another client who needs protection. But Lily is different. Not only is she a professional singer, but she's also as rich as he is. Now she's slipped away too, and he wouldn't get out of bed if he didn't have to take care of the horses. And sometimes one of his brothers has to come do that. So does Lily return? Find out in this well-paced romance by Liz Isaacson.
The youngest Whittaker brother, Beau, is a big, strong, handsome, wealthy, kind, protective, brilliant man. That alone should be enough to pique your interest. He is hired to protect Lily, a famous singer whose philandering ex-husband had let her support him throughout their marriage and gambled her money away; now he is stalking her and suing for more than the generous amount they had settled for. She is terrified and in hiding so she hires Beau as her lawyer/bodyguard. The outcome of their story is fairly predictable but the way they get there is very entertaining. I enjoyed it! I was entrusted with a copy of this book by the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Beau Whittaker is a lawyer. He's also a billionaire. He's living at his family's Whiskey Mountain Lodge with his beloved horses. He's nursing a broken heart but still hopeful he'll find the love of his life. He has changed his regular law practice for customized cases. And his next client is Lily Everett. She's a song writer and singer, hiding from her greedy cheater of an ex. Her ex believes he deserves more money, even if he doesn't. Beau is not about to let Lily's ex pry anymore of anything from her. His job soon becomes his passion. This sweet, honorable and touching story of love and respect is truly a brilliant love story.
I really liked this book and I am so looking forward to the next book in the series. Lily Everett and Beau Whittaker make quite a stunning couple. He is a successful lawyer going for a mountain man look and she is a singer. I enjoyed the mystery and worrying about Lily's ex-husband, Kent and what he would do. I liked the sexy Whittaker brothers and their close knit family. The Whiskey Mountain Lodge sounds like a great place to visit especially during the holidays. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I loved the story. It very much kept my interest. I love the lodge and the people who work there and how the brothers are close. The one thing I was disappointed about was Lily's exhusband. So she goes on the run and in hiding for over a year. She is so scared of her ex and what he is going to do and so you think he is so dangerous and you are waiting for something to happen. Then it's like nothing just some words spoken that is it. But other than that I really liked the story the atmosphere and the love story. Can't wait to read the other books
This is another great story by Liz Isaacson that mixes a cowboy lawyer and a celebrity singer. Beau Whittaker takes on cases at the lodge helping women in trouble. Having had troubles of his own by falling for one of his clients, Beau was left behind after winning the case. Now Beau can't believe is is repeating the same senario with Lily. How can life be so cruel? Why can't he find a woman who wants to stay in Coral Ridge with him? Will he ever find love? I recommend this book without reservations.
Cute, clean, quick read. I liked Beau and Lilly. Since he is the youngest brother I thought maybe that was the end of the series but nope. There are more to come. Books, not brothers. I liked the idea of a lawyer focusing on helping women who have a problem because of a male counterpart.
No sex, language or violence
I was given an advance copy of this book and voluntarily chose to write a review
Her Cowboy Billionaire Bodyguard is a sweet romance. Beau and Lily are very likable characters. The close family relationships add depth to the story. There are some twists to the plot to make it even more interesting. The dialogue flows well, and the story moves at a good pace. I enjoyed this addition to the Whittaker Brothers and to catching up with some of the other brothers too. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this heartwarming romance.
I love this series of books! Beau, the youngest Whittaker brother has found his purpose in being a top notch lawyer and bodyguard to clients with a lot at stake. When he meets Lily it doesn’t take him long to realize that she is more than just another client but can he be sure she feels the same? He doesn’t want to repeat past mistakes. If you like sweet, inspirational romance this is a series for you! These books make me want to visit Whiskey Mountain Lodge and Coral Canyon!
