Dieses Buchlein ist nur schmal. Um so erstaunlicher ist es, dass der Autor mit so wenigen Seiten trotzdem ins Herz trifft. Mich hat die Geschichte auf jeden Fall sehr berührt.
Dabei habe ich auch lachen müssen, denn es ist schon lustig, was die kleine Elfe so ausplaudert. Dazu ist alles noch in Reimform gehalten; es macht einfach Spaß.

I’ve read a few other books by Matt Haig over the last few years, but I think my favourites were the first books in this Christmas series (A Boy Called Christmas, The Girl Who Saved Christmas,and Father Christmas and Me) are so charming that I was really looking forward to reading this one – in order, this is book #3.5 of the Christmas series.

Wherever she is, whatever the day,
She only has one kind of thing to say.
Just as cats go miaow and cows go moo,
The Truth Pixie can only say things that are true.

I think all four (or 3.5, if you must) books in this series are charming, delightful, and fun. The first three are more likely to appeal to all ages, but this might appeal more to younger readers, who can appreciate the sing-song-like rhythm of this story. Everyone will appreciate the inspired illustrations by Chris Mould included throughout this book.

There’s a subtle undertone to this that focuses on emotions, mental health, and how telling the full, unvarnished truth may hurt others’ feelings, and perhaps the better approach is to focus on the positives.

I will be in the minority in thinking this rhyming 2019 Goodreads nominated children's graphic novel by the celebrated Matt Haig and illustrated by Chris Mould is just all right. Oh, the funky black and white illustrations by Mould are the best feature of the book, but the inspirational story feels a little flat, and I'm kind of annoyed by the rhyming. It features a Truth Pixie who simply cannot help telling the truth, which as you already know, can get you in trouble (why, just saying this book isn't amazing might get me punched in the nose by Haig himself!).

One central point seems to be: "But you'll never be happy unless you know sad."

But overall the point is to just generally tell the truth most of the time. Okay!

"Das große Herz der kleinen Elfe" scheint Band 3,50 aus der "Christmas" Kinderbuchreihe zu sein. Das merkt man allerdings gar nicht, man kann das Buch auf jeden Fall als Einzelband lesen oder hören.

Dank Bookbeat höre ich jetzt auch ab und zu Kinderbücher, so kann man viele Bücher testen, die man später dann mit seinen Kindern oder Enkelkindern lesen oder hören will.

Die Geschichte hat mir richtig gut gefallen. Sie ist leider sehr kurz, dadurch aber bestimmt perfekt für Leseanfänger. Das Hörbuch ist wirklich zauberhaft. Die Geschichte ist berührend und Kinder können daraus bestimmt einiges lernen. Vor allem, dass sich alles irgendwann wieder zum Guten wendet, selbst wenn es auf den ersten Blick hoffnungslos erscheint.

Von mir gibt es 5 Sterne und eine klare Leseempfehlung.

I'd seen a lot of raving reviews about this, and I wanted to pick it because it was said to be sad but comforting. The story itself didn't do much for me, as it's definitely more suitable for very young readers, and because of that, I enjoyed the second half of the book a lot more, but it has a very uplifting message and I really did love it.

Pe parcursul micului volum, textul ritmat captivează cititorul cu personaje precum Spiridușa, elfii, trolii sau fetița cea nevoiașă. Totul curge ca o mică povestioară cu tâlc, unde cei mici sunt învățați despre adevăr și cum prieteniile cele mai puternice sunt bazate pe această importantă calitate. Nu am putut să nu surâd la anumite scene, Haig având un stil aparte de a povesti, cu mult umor, dar și emoție.

Un singur lucru ea poate rosti.
La fel cum pisicile fac miau și vacile fac mu
Spiridușa adevăru-l spune, atât și altceva nu.„

*Mi-a plăcut la fel de mult ca prima dată când am citit-o. Am regăsit același stil reconfortant, aceeași protagonistă ce posedă o mare calitate, aceea de a spune numai adevărul, dar care bineînțeles intră mereu în belele, oamenii din jur neapreciind crudul adevăr mereu. Cred că mulți copii sunt așa în primii lor ani, mintea lor neavând încă formată capacitatea de a înfrumuseța adevărul, de a-și ascunde anumite păreri doar de dragul de a nu-l supăra pe celălalt. Dar cum trec anii și vin nenumăratele atenționări din partea părinților, și copiii învață să mintă.

Nabaga Truth Pixie vārds pasaka par viņu visu - ja viņa atver muti, tad var pateikt tikai tīru patiesību. Tādēļ viņa viena un skumja dzīvo savā namiņā kopā ar mazu peli, kas vienīgā var viņu paciest, jo visus draugus un arī ģimeni viņa ir zaudējusi savas nolāpītās patiesības teikšanas dēļ. Bet tad pienāk diena, kad viņas atklātība tomēr var būt laba, lai arī sāpīga, un palīdzēt kādai mazai meitenei ieraudzīt to, ka, lai gan šodien dzīve ir smaga un skumja, tas nenozīmē, ka tāda tā būs vienmēr - nāks arī labas dienas, jauni draugi, skaisti piedzīvojumi, tāli ceļojumi, un asaras nomainīs prieks.

Ar dzeju autoram vēl drusku jāpatrenējas, bet mesidžs ir labs un ilustrācijas atkal jau izcilas!

Not nearly as good as the other stories in this series, mostly because there was little depth to the story, although the rhyming was amusing at times. The Truth Pixie is lonely because nobody wants the cold, unvarnished truth all of the time; however, never hearing the truth is also a burden. Uplifting end.

I honestly was not expecting to tear up over a children's book but here we are. This was beautiful. I highly recommend it, regardless of your age. It's also all written in rhyme which somehow made it more magical, like a book you want to read aloud.

This children's book by Matt Haig - who is one of my favorite authors of all time - is all the truth you need in your life. I'm so glad I read it, especially because it took me back to my own childhood and made me wish I knew these things back then!

I mean, the rhymes are a leeeeetle childish, but to be fair, it IS a children's book after all. :)

Книжечка «Правдива Піксі» — це такий собі "вбоквел" до трилогії про Батечка Різдва. Сама Правдива Піксі була другорядною персонажкою у всіх трьох книжках циклу, тут же вона — центральна героїня. Крім того книжечка відрізняється від основної трилогії зменшеним форматом, великої кількістю ілюстрацій та віршованим текстом.

Піксі у чарівному світі Метта Гейґа бувають дуже різними, та лише одна з них має таку особливість чи, як сама вона вважає, прокляття, — завжди говорити правду. При чому на прямо задане їй запитання вона завжди мусить відповісти. Це не раз стає причиною скрутних ситуацій для малої піксі: там, де інший спокійно б відбрехався, вона каже правду, яка може образити, засмутити чи навіть розгнівати інших. Сама Правдива Піксі зовсім не має на меті бути грубою, але нічого не може вдіяти зі своєю натурою. Та якось вона зустрічає дівчинку Ааду, у якої дуже багато гризот, якими вона ділиться із нашої Піксі, і, скажу вам по секрету, Правдива Піксі таки зуміє заспокоїти і потішити дівчинку, говорячи лише правду. "Коли б кожен день все було ідеальне, ми б не розрізняли чудесне й нормальне."

Totally overrated! A sweet enough book with a couple of poignant lines, but I didn’t think the rhyming was very good and the storyline wasn’t that magical. I have liked Matt Haig’s adult books and I feel this one will be selling purely because of the popularity of those. A tenner for a very small book too!

I've read and loved the first three Christmas books in the past, but somehow I forgot to pick up The Truth Pixie after that... I really liked her character, so I had high hopes for this one. And while I do think this isn't the strongest book of the series, I still had great fun with this story! This book is both sad and uplifting and the illustrations really make the story come alive... They definitely complement the plot very well! I'm sure children will love this book and the series in general, and it's a great one to get into that Christmas spirit. I really liked they rhyming too; very catchy!

Me fascina mucho que todo esté rimado y quede tan bien. El mensaje de la historia está bien, pero al ser todo en verso, cala algo menos que los tres libros anteriores porque es muy rápido y hay menos detalles que en una narración al uso.

I am not a fan of Haig's adult books, but I am definitely into his tales for children!
The way he seamlessly rhymes through such a long book is amazing.
The story was cute and the pictures are awesome, I am excited to grab more of his kids books!
