Knitting Pattern: Premature Baby 12in Striped Cardi Set
KNITTING PATTERN
This beautiful knitting pattern is my first premature baby knit using double knitting yarn. I created it because I wanted to make tiny baby clothes that were a more natural fit for premature babies. Some knitters prefer to use double knit rather than 4ply as it knits up quicker.
The design features some colourful stripes in a fresh mint, grey and white colour scheme. They are simple knits, using just stocking-stitch and rib.
Each design uses Wendy Peter Pan double knit (UK) yarn which is really soft to the skin as well as machine washable. 3.25mm and 3.75 knitting needles are required. It is knitted flat using 2 needles and is written using English terms.
Size: Cardi - size: 12 inch, actual size 14 1/2 inch
Hat - circumference 12 inch
It would be equally lovey if knitted in traditional pink or blue colours, and it would make a lovely set to donate to your local NICU unit.
