Killing Ulysses: Sky Stone Thriller #2

Rate this book
A BRUTAL MURDER. A STOLEN CHILD. A PRICELESS PAINTING. Life is about to get treacherous for forensic psychologist Sky Stone. She’s retired from police work, happily teaching at a local university, until one steamy July morning when wealthy art collector Edmund Clayworth is found brutally murdered in his Beacon Street home. Like a moth to a flame, Sky is drawn to the case. Sparks fly when former lover Jake Farrell grabs control of the homicide investigation. Complications mount fast. A stranger begs Sky to rescue her stolen daughter. A handsome Texas cowboy from her past shows up asking dangerous questions. Add the theft of a priceless painting and Sky’s obsession with an artist twenty years dead and you have a nonstop rollercoaster ride. Sky leads the reader through Beacon Hill mansions, a posh art gallery opening, and a maze of secret underground tunnels in her quest to solve this murder before the killer strikes again. Sky Stone returns in Killing Ulysses, the pulse-pounding sequel to The Profiler’s Daughter. Amazon bestselling author P.M. Steffen’s enigmatic and brilliant heroine battles her own demons as she tracks down obscure leads and cryptic clues, little realizing that the killer is watching her every move. “P.M. Steffen’s second thriller, Killing Ulysses, is cause for rejoicing. The complex and strong-willed psychologist, Sky Stone, is back and she must work with her former lover in Newton Homicide to discover who has murdered a popular art collector. Every one of the cast of richly-developed characters is hiding a secret, including Sky. Moving between her tight-knit Italian neighborhood and the tony art world of Beacon Hill, Sky must unmask the ruthless killer before he or she strikes again. Steffen weaves an intricate plot with her smooth, confident prose. Be ready to give up your evenings to this original voice on the mystery scene.” —Susan Cory, author of Conundrum and Facade

Killing Ulysses: Sky Stone Thriller #2 by P.M. Steffen

I loved this book and the energy to create. Sky has been a most interesting Profiler and the charecters that surround her are perfect. I have been waiting years for her to return and have re-read the Profiler often. I love the detail that surrounds the action in each case. She is such a unique charecters that I hope I don't have to wait years for Book #3. If that he the case then I will have re-read this one several times. P. M. Steffen is that good or a writer. Please read and start with the Profiler to really know Sky.

Outstanding

This is the second Sky Stone book. After I read the Profiler's Daughter, I immediately got this one and I can't wait to read the next one.

I like long books with twists and turns, and the Sky Stone series has it all. Plus, I've been to Boston several times, and could envision the places in her books. Likeable characters and a good plot.

Killing Ulysses by P M Steffen
This is the follow up story to The Profiler's Daughter.
This book starts 15 months after the last book finished and once again we follow Sky as she tries to balance all the various aspects of her life. I found this book not as compelling as the first book but still a solid read. 4 stars.

Amazing As good if not better than Profilers Daughter. Looking forward to installation #3

Highly recommend. Fast paced while fully developed characters. As a former resident of Boston can appreciate the nuisances of living in the city. The reference to the “big dig” was plausible
