My momma was born and raised in New Orleans. At the age of twenty, she met and fell in love with an Irishman named Patrick Riley Dwyer. Needless to say, the family was a bit taken aback by this as they hoped she would marry a family friend. It was a modern day arranged marriage kind of thing and my momma downright refused.
Being that my momma’s families were descendents of the original English speaking southerners, they wanted the family blood line to stay pure. They were wealthy and my father’s family was poor.
Despite attempts by my grandpapa to make Patrick leave and destroy the love between them, my parents married. They recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.
I am one of six children born to Patrick and Lynn Dwyer. I am a combination of both Irish and a true southern belle. With a name like Dixie Lynn Dwyer it’s no wonder why people are curious about my name.
Just as my parents had a love story of their own, I grew up intrigued by the lifestyles of others. My imagination as well as my need to stray from the straight and narrow made me into the woman I am today.

Good story line, but...
Several issues of the series will be dealt with finally; some of the bad guys get caught or killed. Do not read the. books of thi
Do not attempt to read this book without having read the preceding books in the series. Even then, you may need a chart to keep all of the characters straight. (There are a lot of friends, relatives, and bad dudes.) The good news: some loose ends get tied up. The bad news: there were a number of awkward passages that needed further editing.
Even then, you may need a chart to keep all of the characters straight. There are also several places in the book that would have benefited from additional editing.

Adding up to love is book nine in the healing hearts series. I liked this story but the characters did annoy me a little. I wanted to shout at Afina to open her eyes and stop being so naïve. I did eventually like Avery, Saber, Brick and Beck. I understood that because of their careers they were so untrusting but the way they spoke to Afina for the first half of the story annoyed me. That being said, I look that they soon became protective of Afina. The chemistry between Afina and her men was clear to see and I liked them together.
I wasn’t a fan of Gain’s, Gordon and Ray. I liked that karma bit them on their ass. Gain’s and Gordon were the worst. I hated that they were so determined to make Afina theirs.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an action packed read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.
