Luke can’t get involved with Brent, but he’s helpless when the quarters get a little too close one night and passion takes over. If Brent finds out about Luke’s dark past, there will be hell to pay. Now their lives are twisting together, and there are sure to be fireworks.

DNF @ 25%.

It wasn't the fact that from the first page, everything was OTT. It's that everything was OTT, but the writing was so stiff and mechanical that it was impossible to enjoy the OTT ride.

Fear of the Truth Being Revealed

I absolutely adore all the things that I came across as I read the book. Despite there being some terrible things that had occurred in the book and the past of the main characters.

An catastrophic emergency situation led to a successful businessman needing to hire a Nanny immediately. Luckily a very reputable Manny was requested as a special favor. No one needed a baby expert / caregiver more than Brent Darcy. He had no idea which end was up when it came to taking care of a newborn.

There were so many emotions evoked in this book: fear of ones past coming to light, wearing a mask while feeling bearly held together, pretending to be in control while internally you are an emotional wreck, needing the talents of a psychologically educated Dom to gain control through submission, grief so debilitating hospitalization was necessary. Watching a scared hesitant man grow into a confident dad. Seeing a baby bring two damaged men together and on the path towards healing. But it didn't happen immediately. There were times they felt list - hollowed out. Humiliated. Agitated. Angry. Curious. Distraught.

This story was very entertaining, but there could be some triggers. There is mild BDSM, a horrible past that made one of the men an emotional wreck, and the traumatic stress from a beloved brother. Sara York wrote very well. Her characters displayed such a range of of emotions & life experiences, this isn't your typical Manny story.

Ok, yes, it was OTT... but, the reality of life is if it is on Facebook... it must be true! *headdesk*

OMG! How many lives, relationships, jobs have been ruined because some "well-intentioned" person spreads a "rumor" as "truth"?

Do your own research like Brent did and save yourself a lot of BS and heartbreak! The "Luke's" of the world will thank you for it! *grin*

A Manny With a Secret

I really enjoyed this book.
The plot held my attention, Madeline made me smile and Chris opened my mind to new approaches.
I'm wondering if Bruce and Chris will have their own story.

I just was put off by editing which needed to be improved.

It was interesting to see the therapy that worked for Luke as an opening to all the drama both both men find themselves in. Luke's pain was so great and the man he is grown to be is amazing. I was proud of Brent also accepting help to build the best family.

A true heart wrenching story.

Luke and Brent have hardships in their lives but the care and love that they have for Brent's daughter, brings love into their hearts that wipes away the hurt and grief.
