More than two-hundred years since the Mars Riots and the institution of the Commonwealth of Planets, at the eve of the Sedition Wars, the Second Crossing appears as an event that signifies the commitment of the Commonwealth with the colonisation of the only terrestrial planet ever found beyond the Solar System. Earth, the cradle of our civilisation had been sucked dry of natural resources in the previous age and now, at the eve of interstellar travel, mankind had surrendered to the tyranny of the Tudor Regime in order for the Human Race to survive.
For different reasons, the discovery of Terra Nova had brought renewed hope to settlers and to those who would remain behind. Thousands of Terran, Lunar and Martian families had been offered land and subsidy to settle the new tropical jewel of the Commonwealth of Planets. They weren’t alone. There, where the wanting, the oppressed and the unwanted sought a fresh start away from the scrutiny of the stark Tudor Regime, the bioroid game wardens and the daring huntsmen of the Intergalactic Hunter’s Club became the only thing standing between man-eating predators and the settlers from Earth.
Yet, in a place that came to be known as ‘Deathworld’ by those who chose to live there, death strikes swiftly, and not all people learn how to deal with it. While some grieve endlessly for their lost loved ones and others live for vengeance, there are those who seek ways to cheat the eternal slumber, so to endure well beyond their natural years.
The truth is: I write because I enjoy communicating with the reader.
I know full well that, once I hand the narrative to you, you'll make my stories into your own, giving them your own spin with your mind's eye. I like that.
Together, you and I will conspire to create the world that greets you when you read my tales, and that's an enticing prospect.
If I were a songwriter and you a musician, I could give you the notes, but you'd always be playing them to your own rhythm. Writing, as I see it, is a little like that. So, shall we dance?
