Josh Turchetta left the US Marine Corps for one reason, to join his family in saving the lives of those who otherwise would’ve been lost. Work hard, play hard, is his motto and lifestyle. Ellie Laroux enjoyed baking and refused to let her exotic cupcake shop fail. Her personal life was on hold as she focused on keeping her business out of the red. In a flash, her life changes when she learns of her brother’s harsh, sudden death. She will not stop until his killers are brought to justice, even if it means losing her business and possibly her life. Josh is assigned to watch Ellie from a distance. Ellie’s stubborn like her late brother and her tactics are drawing unwanted attention. How can he protect someone who is continuously waving a red flag calling out the enemy? He finds her tenacity, determination, and passion irresistible. Is she the secret ingredient that has been missing from his life or a distraction that might get them both killed?
Jeannette grew up in a large family, number ten out of eleven children, eight of them being older brothers. She quickly developed a great sense of humor, mostly from necessity. One of her greatest joys is sitting on the porch where they were all raised and hearing the stories from years gone by. Quietly laughing to herself, she notices how they embellish the stories more and more each year.
Storytelling was passed down from her grandfather and mother. Jeannette caught the bug at a very young age. If she didn’t have her head in a book, then she was off somewhere with a notebook, jotting down stories of what she would write if one day she became an author. Although the notebook may have vanished, the stories are still vivid and waiting for the right time to be told.
Despite having an amazing family, there have also been some sorrows in her life, including the loss of loved ones. Over the years, Jeannette has spent countless hours volunteering for different organizations and acting as a caregiver to those dearest to her. As a result, supporting the elderly became of utmost importance.
As she approached a milestone birthday in 2015, she decided to take her passion for writing and blend it with her desire to continue to help others. As she writes her stories, she hopes they touch someone’s life. Within the layers of the romance, the foundation remains throughout and is one that is dear to her; make a difference in someone’s life each day!
In 2016 she met someone who encouraged her to push herself even further and try her hand at spicy intrigue. One year later she has four books in this new series and each one pushing her limits just a bit further.
Like the wind, Jeannette’s life changed directions several times over the years, yet one constant remains: her desire to leave this Earth a little better than when she entered it as she tries to live by these words, Make your mark on the world today as your acts of kindness is all anyone will remember in years to come!
Josh Turchetta, a former US Marine Corps left his military life like his other siblings did to work together in helping others when all hope was lost. When his oldest brother Rafe (FOR HONOR) lost his best-friend, Frank Laroux. He was asked to look after the deceased little sister, Ellie.
Ellie Laroux, owner of an exotic cupcake shop, Toot Sweets. She loved baking but she didn't have time for dating. All she cared about was keeping her business running smoothly. But when her life was turned upside down by the news of her brother's murder. She vowed to make his killers pay for what they did even if she lost her shop or life while doing so.
Her actions were drawing a lot of attention to her which wasn't got cause some very dangerous people were out to silence her forever. Josh had his hands full with the little spitfire, he never imagined he would fall for her though and vice versa.
He put himself in danger in order to protect her. She was angry at him for lying to her but in the end they worked things out. She understood why he did what he did and she knew she would always be safe with him, come what may.
it was great catch up with old characters and meet new ones, Josh finally found a woman who made her take the step he'd always avoided...commitment. And the lovebirds couldn't be happier.
FOR PASSION is the fifth book in Jeannette Winters' TURCHETTA'S PROMISE series. What an amazing, emotional and alluring ride. Marvelous job by Ms Winters. Two thumbs up!
Josh a former Marine Corp is part of the Turchettas Promise. He's assigned to look after Ellie from afar after her brother Frank who was FBI was killed tragically.
Ellie is a cupcake shop owner trying to keep her business a float as well as grieving her brothers death. Unknowingly she's trying to find out why her brother was killed but does not realise she is sitting with the answer in front of her.
Both meet in a to be hit and run. Fortunately Josh saves Ellie. From there begins the journey of their love story. Josh fights really hard to protect Ellie from harm but himself to not fall for her.
There is a lot of drama action and humour. Again a fab book.
Another great read from Jeannette. Josh and Ellie's story is sad start but what you do find is a hope in Ellie and her outlook after her brother Frank is killed in the line of duty of FBI and Josh is all set to watch over her but their paths cross after a near hit and run on Ellie's life and they become friends the lovers. I don’t quite know why this seamed to be a drawn out story maybe it was the will they won’t they get together soon but it takes a while for them both to come together
Josh found out that Ellie was his special ingredient that made his life complete. The ending of this story was great. One thing that I missed was what was at the bar that Frank wanted Rafe to find. Also since Frank was killed in the line of duty I would think there would be life insurance that Ellie would get. Maybe that's to deep for the story but it was touched on. I figured out the clue as soon as the list was presented. Dragging it in was to much. Talk about clueless. Can't wait to find out what Josh and Ellie have.
Josh is just in town to watch over Ellie, will he be able to keep himself in the background or will that one car throw them together and they'll never separate....
I love this book! Mostly the way Jeannette Winters writes Josh. His brothers call him the charmer of all the men in the family because women fall at his feet. They tease him about being a bachelor and really raz him while watching him during this whole assignment. You will laugh when they all talk about the cupcake car. Hahaha I also love the ending. Epilogue makes you say Awwwww. 5 big stars!
