The stench of the Norden Cartel is far from eradicated.
Though Jason and his team have taken down Victoria North and freed many of the kidnapped AIs, several are still missing, and it's the team's job to find them.
Even as they set things right, a small piece of technology procured from Norden's crumbling criminal empire is enough to become the catalyst for an even worse catastrophe. Jason, Terrance, and the Phantom Blade team grapple with this new threat, unaware that it is far closer to home than they ever imagined.
The struggle to bring about equality for AIs and make Alpha Centauri a home for all sentients balances on a knife's edge. It will take everything Jason has to ensure the burgeoning civilization isn't cut to ribbons.

What can i say , well it goes like this amazing, a suspense filled thriller, twists , surprises, imaginative villains, immersive pages you keep turning. This is one of the best co-authored books to date and it will be hard to beat as Rich man stamps her authority on this Aeon14 book. For those who are big fans and large readers of this universe you will be amazed at just how well it fits. This is a finely tuned jigsaw with many thousands of pieces and tjis series just sits at home like it was planned from day 1. I can only shake my head in amazement and bow down to the mastery on this book. If I could give 6 stars i would but a 5 stars will have to do. Now that i have gushed like a little girl at a pop band concert i shall do the manly thing and complain by saying there is a wait for the next book obviously a travesty despite this books large size and that this series really needs a lot, lot more books than planned.
Wow. Just. Wow. Incredible, awesome, grab-you-by-the-heart-and-don’t-let-go stupendous! While Jason Andrews and Tobias and team risk their lives to rescue captured, shackled AIs, a deranged, evil AI who calls himself Prime arises. Prime quickly positions himself to take over the universe and begins by shackling to his will not only AIs but also humans. It gets worse from there! Lisa Richman and M.D. Cooper are a writing duo to be reckoned with.
I just finished this book last night. The story is a perfect continuation of book 1 with a satisfying conclusion that is, in typical Aeon 14 fashion, a spring board to the next book. The sense of doom and victory are mixed so well between the evil Prime and the determined Phantom Blade. By the end of the book I was sure that Prime had met his just end...and here I will simply quote my comment on the Aeon 14 fan group on face book, "... to the very last screen/page, to the very last word of the book ye must go, boyo. All I'm sayin'." Enjoy the read :)
Real edge of the seat type stuff in this book, very hard to put down. Bit of a different sort of book compared, being more of a thriller, but very well done, and portrays well how good and bad both humans and AI can be in the future. We also get to see inside the head as such of more of our protagonists, rounding them out nicely and giving us a good understanding of their motivations etc. Built up to a strong, emotional finish. Certainly thanks to being a thriller, darker in tone than others, but isn't bad for doing so. I think it shows the depth and breadth of the Aeon 14 universe well, that can support all the different sorts of stories that it does, helps make it feel more real to me. A bit like Forgotten Realms vs Dragonlance - Forgotten Realms has many different sorts of stories which I find helps flesh it out well, to make it more real, whereas Dragonlance doesn't seem to have that so much, feels a lot smaller and less real as a result. Aeon 14 very much falls into the Forgotten Realms type area.
I've read just about all the Aeon 14 books, at least the ones released so far, and I love them all. There was something different about this one though, and it has given itself a name. Prime is as unhinged as Randall Flagg and as cunning as Iago. One of the best villains I've had the pleasure to read. I am certainly looking forward to his eventual showdown with Tanis, although I really do hope that Jason is the one who gives him his just deserts.
A new villain has raised, one that is not only able to take over AIs, but also humans as well. As Jason, Terrance, and the Phantom Blade team chase after the remain kidnapped AIs, there is big trouble nearer home. Looking forward to the next part where I am sure the authors will give us the readers a few more shocks.
This story was a very tough read due to some of the story's elements. Prime is as evil as any character I have ever read or had nightmares about. But Lisa and Michael have woven him (Prime) into this extraordinary universe that is Aeon 14, I think, because to have true heroes you must also have true villains.
Much as I would like to explain the plot and throw in some spoilers, you will just have to read it for yourself! Jason and Terrance and other familiar characters go to rescue the last two AIs. But wait, there's a villain messing things up. And did someone mention the Intrepid, and Bob? Gotta read the next book!
The characters, plot, and tech are very well thought out here. Not only that but it crosses a rare combination of crime thriller and sci-fi action. The villain here is reminiscent of some of the worse serial killers that Lucas Davenport has faced in the Prey novels.
Prime is up to his old tricks. He has figured a way to sequester humans like they sequestered AIs. There is so much going on that you will have to read it for yourself.. can’t wait for the next one, November can’t get here quick enough!!
What a great thriller. Twists and turns galore. Starts a little slow, but gets you at the edge of your seat, couldn't put it down until the end. Great read, ready for the next book.
Another masterful tale. Loved how it flowed and I had trouble putting it down ( only when my Wife insisted). Plenty of twists in the story and I like a villain who makes the good folk shine in the story. Try this, you won't be disappointed.
A great military sci-fi action series. Great characters with realistic situations and lots of action and adventure.I look forward to more from this series 😁
The more series I read the more confused I get. Just when I think I'm getting a happy ending, here we go again. A great read. Still looking for the first BOB book. Thank again for a great book. Starting on the next one now.
We finally got a bit of "good" at the end of this book! At least for now, things seem to be working out for the main characters. Hopefully, things can keep looking up...
