Victor Frankenstein thinks he has found the secret of life. He takes parts from dead people and builds a new 'man'. But this monster is so big and frightening that everyone runs away from him - even Frankenstein himself! The monster is like an enormous baby who needs love. But nobody gives him love, and soon he learns to hate. And, because he is so strong, the next thing he learns is how to kill...
The good part is these abridged bookworm series is you will read what a famous book is about, without being forced to read the whole long original book. I wish when I was a teenager and my English was still in progress, I could read the whole bookworm series. Good old days.

4. "I joined the body to the wires from my machine. More wires joined the machine to the mast. I was sure that my machine could use electricity from lightning to give life to the body." These sentences are my favorite ones because they state the process to make frankenstein clearly. Actually so far I didn't know the way to make the monster. I regarded frankenstain as a monster from such a death world. But my thought was a little correct accorded to this story. How about you? Do you know the process to make frankenstain?
5. Through reading this story, I actualy sympathize with frankenstain's feeling because he just wanted to have friends. However, most people were afraid of his ugly and terrible face. Moreover, they threw stones or something to him. I thought it was bias for human being. I was reminded a same story, "Elephant man" that we read around last year maybe. The main character in "Elephant man" also had ugly face and had to cover it with like a sack because some people were frightened his miserable face, however, in the end it would be happy. In a case of this story, frankestain would never rather come a bad end than a happy one. When I see such a monster, actually how will I feel? Maybe I will also try to escae there. How about you? If you were in the situation, how would you feel and what would you do?
I've just embark on level 3 at last!!! Yes, the plot is getting more interesting. I am really happy. The name of Frankenstein is very familiar but I hadn't really known the story. I didn't know Frankenstein is the man who made this monster using some dead bodies! The monster did cruel things because he was attacked by people. People is very cold to him when they see his apprearance. This is very sad.
The more you read it, the more you can feel that it really has a lot of depth than what the surface story is telling. Frankenstein as a modern monster icon is really missing the point about the Frankenstein story. Read it slowly and reflect on the emotions portrayed and I found it a satisfying read.
"Why did you create me if you were no ready to love me?" "I'm only happy when I'm asleep."
I find it a bit unrealistic. How could Frankenstain's monster know to speak and write fluently a few days after he is created
I fell pitty for this creature, it's not a monster it just look like that. He only wants to be loved and have familly but everybody is scared of him becouse he looks ugly. Even Victor Frankestain runs away from him which is unresponseble and cruel and that's the reason I think the real monster is him.
"I could not understand why men who knew all about good and evil could hate and kill each other"
"My heart was made for love, like a man's heart"
Frankenstein is known as the name of zombi. This novel showed me different aspects of Frankenstein as a scientist, who created a monster out of dead things. In a laboratory with a very tall mast, he used electricity to give life to things that were dead. Later on, the monster became conscious and started killing people necessary to Frankenstein.
I started to feel the oxford Bookworms series have a similar style in their plot, giving me a desire to explore something more as a novel.
If you just want to know the plot of this famous story, read this (or any, really) abridged version and you're good to go... (DON'T READ THE ORIGINAL IF YOU CAN AVOID IT! You'll die of boredom if you do, because there is so much unimportant fluff and learned words you don't really need to read to understand the basic idea behind the story)
Many people mistakenly believe the creature in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is named Frankenstein. In reality, the creature remains nameless in the story. As Victor Frankenstein's creation, the creature could be considered a Frankenstein (a member of the family), but their relationship is more enemy than familial.
Huh, it was such a terrible reading. Do I recommend it? No. Yeah, it's true that I've read it because of high school. But, well, if you can choose if you want to read it or not, I really think there are books pretty better than this one. I mean, I can't just understand why is this book so famous? Am I supposed to empathize with a serial killer? No, sorry, but this was definitely not for me.
I believe the book is an essential novel that everyone should read because it was the first science fiction novel, also known as The Modern Prometheus. Many people have seen movies or cartoons about it, but it’s not the same as reading the original work. When it comes to science, we shouldn’t use it without thinking; instead, we must be responsible people for the future.
Someday, you know. Solid 3. Original might be a 5, I really do like the themes the book has.
i love even that summary,i will adore the original text i know.i have to read this for my major but later i will read in my native language and probably read again english with full text.it is so good for a first book of a genre.
Maybe I read this book when I was a child, or maybe I had never read it before. Any way, I only knew the name Frankenstein and his ugly face before it reading. Therefore, I was interested in reading this book with the sense of first time. I felt very pained when I knew the heart and sadness of Frankenstein. Moreover, I couldn't help thinking about the feelings of committing a crime.
