פרס גפן מוענק מדי שנה לספרים ולסיפורים הטובים ביותר בסוגות המדע הבדיוני והפנטזיה שראו אור בעברית, במטרה לקדם תחום ספרותי זה בישראל. הפרס מוענק מטעם האגודה הישראלית למדע בדיוני ולפנטסיה, והוא קרוי על שמו של עמוס גפן ז"ל – מתרגם, עורך, מחלוצי המדע הבדיוני בארץ וממייסדי האגודה. האסופה הזו היא של המועמדים בקטגוריית הסיפור הקצר לשנת 2015.
בחירת הזוכים והענקת הפרס נערכות במהלך פסטיבל המדע הבדיוני והפנטזיה השנתי, אייקון, הנערך מדי שנה בחול המועד סוכות. הבחירה נעשית בשני שלבים, כאשר בשלב הראשון בוחרים חברי האגודה את המועמדים הסופיים לפרס מבין כלל הספרים והסיפורים שראו אור במהלך השנה החולפת, ובשלב השני, במתכונת פרס הוגו האמריקאי, נבחרים הזוכים על ידי באי הפסטיבל.

This book is a collection of short stories nominated for the Gefen Prize in 2015.
The Gefen Prize is awarded annually to the best books and stories in the science fiction and fantasy genres that were published in Hebrew, with the aim of promoting this literary field in Israel. The prize is awarded by the Israeli Society for Science Fiction and Fantasy, and is named after Amos Gefen, a translator, editor, pioneer of science fiction in Israel and one of the founders of the Association.

I took this short story collection simply because it was free, in Hebrew and sounded like it may be interesting... I really got a lot out of it.
Each one of the stories (excluding the first which I really didn't like) was just the right length, and just the right dose of "crazy". These short stories were surprisingly ingenious and complicated and yet, in about a 1-hour read you got the message and the alternative universe they offered clarified into something very original.
Highly recommended for any sci-fi fan (that can read Hebrew...).
