Dozens of children have gone missing, and Naatos, a shapeshifter, suspects a devious mindreader named Salanca. Salanca has hidden her vicious schemes because, though the other Neyeb can read minds, she knows how to shroud her thoughts deeply. Naatos must act swiftly and covertly to avert the murder of the stolen children even as he has been rejected yet again for receiving a Neyeb bride. Not all is as it seems, and a wounded but cursed infant changes Naatos's plans and life forever. ___ This is a prequel novella to The Tue-Rah Chronicles. Aw I love reading about baby Amelia and WroOth. I love how opinionated she is as a baby. Perhaps, it’s to prevent spoilers, but one would think they would do a lot more digging. There’s no doubt Salanca did the ceremony the way she did for a reason and that who the deal was with will be important. Would love yo know what happens yo the Nayeb and where Salanca came by her conviction yhat they were in danger.
Definitely a sad story and tragic ending to so many. These poor brothers have lost so much and yet they still cling to their love. Hopefully there will be a brighter future for Naatros and Kilona.
