‘Het leven is te kort voor slechte duidingen.’

(Echt een goed boek om de kaarten met alle symbolen te leren lezen!)

Very good basic book for beginners! They focus on the most popular card decks and give you the meanings of the cards and pictures. However, I wished they focused less on what the Waite and Crowley cards show and what the pictures on them mean, because the deck the book comes with is neither Waite or Crowley. Still, very helpful for beginners like me!

Descriptions of the major three: Ride-Waite, Thoth(Crowley-Harris), and Marseilles decks. As it claims to be basic it cannot be faulted for lacking occult nuances.

Eigentlich nicht so gut, aber ich habe hier 4 Auslagen übernommen, also war es doch was wert.

There are some neat exercises I had not yet learned (I learned from a person who taught me 2 layouts), but I frequently outright disagreed with the interpretations. Some interpretations bordered on stream-of-consciousness.

The book attempts to cover the Marseilles, Crowley-Harris, and Waite-Smith decks on each interpretation and at times that muddies the waters.

I really enjoyed that this one gave a bunch of Tarot spreads at the start but honestly it didn’t feel like really anything else that I haven’t read in the other books.

I bought a pack of tarot cards on a whim when I walked past them last week. Then when I saw this at the library, I thought I’d give it a go. I like the many options for spreads that are provided, but the introduction is a lot of fluff that doesn’t say anything, and each page of interpretations was also in that vein. The heading of each card does not necessarily match the description well, and the interpretation are so long-winded, it’s like the authors were confunded when they wrote them, or in more likelihood, tried to cover every possible interpretation which ended up being nonsensical, despite the best intentions. The tiny booklet that came with the tarot cards was much more helpful. Not recommended.
