The Fierce Five #4

Fierce: Cade

Rate this book
Someone has to be the wildcard of the family...

Cade Fierce has spent more time worrying about who he wasn’t than focusing on who he was. The fourth son of quintuplets, who always acted out for attention rather than for what counted, he’s an adult now trying to prove that he’s different. That he’s changed. The only problem—his reputation precedes him...more so in the lady department.

Alex Marshall knows all about the Cades of the world. She’s spent her life deflecting their advances since she matured much faster than the rest of the girls her age, and avoiding the rumors that came with it. Trust issues, yeah, she has them full force. Now all she wants to do is focus on rebuilding her parents’ business that got left behind the times. Cade Fierce is the last thing she needs in her life. Too bad she can’t convince herself that a need and a want are two different things.

I have fallen in love with the Fierce-Give from the very beginning and Cade's story is just as WONDERFUL. I think Cade has been misunderstood in the previous books, I know I haven't much liked him until now.
Cade is the joker, the prankster, the lawyer. Cade is the Fierce who has the most self doubt, feels like he hasn't really found his place yet, all because of some stuff that happened back in college. Jolene, mom of the Fierce five, has decided Cade needs a woman and he is the last single boy.
Alex has come home to help her mom with the failing business. Alex has also left Texas because of a broken relationship that has left her cold in men. Alex's parents used to do business with Mr. & Mrs. Fierce, so now that she has the shop back in the black, Alex has a meeting with Cade Fierce in hopes of getting their business again.
I absolutely love these stories. Cade's story is a little different, because he is the one sibling who has so much self doubt. Is quite beautiful how this author writes these characters, as adults, really coming out of their shells. I like who the character of Cade is all cocky and sure in public, but he can be himself around his mom. This book is well written, a great story, AWESOME characters, can make you laugh, has all the feels, and gives a HEA. I highly recommend this whole series. Now I am watching for Ella's story.

3 Shockingly Sweet Stars

This time around we follow Cade, on his journey of acceptance and self-discovery, and his mother’s interfering tendencies in the fourth book of The Fierce Five series by Natalie Ann.

Cade was full of surprises. His character development always felt a little stiff in all the other siblings stories. After delving into his innermost thoughts, come to find there was a significant reason for that. He always felt stifled, more so than the rest of The Five have shown in their attempts to escape being only ever known for their quintuplet status. Stuck lugging around the same labels, and not entirely unjust, he acquired in college he felt he was trudging water.

Jolene’s match-making prowess really came out to play this time around, and while the others obviously found their match, Cade and Alex surpass them. Maybe, with only Mason and Jessica holding a candle. Alex, of course shares the same family values that are prevalent in the Fierce family. What mainly shined through for me were the couples equal attempts to stay out of the spotlight; always being misjudged and the receptors of bad attention.

While this was my favorite pairing the beginning of the book threw me off my Natalie Ann love-fest. Roughly the first few chapters, not including the prologue. When Alex and Cade are in the beginning of their romantic testing-the-water stage the literary realism I’ve come to cherish from this author thus far, fell a little flat. With the rampant focus on getting into each other’s pants, and the others image; while comparatively emphasizing their own desires to no longer only be recognized for such things. I can see how such hypocritical thought progression could be construed in a more realistic and less fanatical sense of human action. However, in this example it came across more forced than anything.

WOW – Jolene always knows what’s best for her boys!

WOW – Jolene always knows what’s best for her boys! This is about Cade and Alex. These two never stood a chance at what was ahead of them once mommy Jolene got involved as she did with all of her sons. I love this collection of the Fierce Five brothers and sisters.

This is Cade’s story. Cade went to visit Alex’s shop at his mother’s request for the business, of course, but once he met her, it was all he needed. Alex also felt the same, but the past always seems to be upfront which is why these two tend to go slow about everything. One wants more, while the other does not think it could be that way. I love the interaction between all of them, especially Ella, the baby sister, she seems to rule them all, but you can’t forget Brody, Mason, and Aiden, as each of them has a unique story too, and joins in to harass Cade as he was there to do it to them too. Ella’s story is next to my readers as I’m eager to see how Jolene deals with her as she is on to her mother! If you haven’t read this series or how it all started with Gavin and Jolene, you are missing out because there is a lot of laughter as you can imagine with family of quintuplets and only one being a girl.

You’ll want to be adopted by the Fierce family after reading! Natalie Ann has created a great set of stories based on cool and quirky family of quintuplets (5). The mom is a pro and behind the scenes machinations and the dad just goes with the flow. Note: This is the fourth installment in the Fierce family series—so you’ll have to make sure and check out the other brothers: Brody, Aiden, and Mason. By the time you’re through, you’ll feel like party of the family and be ready to be adopted, that’s for sure!

Even though he’s a lawyer for the family business, no one takes Cade seriously. Cade’s quirks are lovable and endearing (he’s my favorite) and his attraction to Alex is believable and sweet. I think you’ll love the way their love story develops. There’s even an underlying threat that keeps you turning the page to see how it plays out. Of course, Alex doesn’t trust Cade’s interest in her because he’s got a reputation for womanizing, which is rightly deserved: “You make me forget all the things I keep telling myself I need to remember.” –Alex Swoon worthy, right? I’m a BIG fan of Natalie Ann’s stories. Can’t wait for the fifth—Ella’s story!

Cade Fierce has a reputation as a player and a jokester who speaks before he thinks. He’s hidden his vulnerabilities behind a cocky attitude. Alex Marshall came home to save her family business after her boyfriend showed his true colors. She’s afraid to trust a man again and she’s too tired working so much to get ahead for a serious relationship. Based on Cade’s reputation she thinks he’s the perfect candidate for “friends with benefits.” But now that Cade has met the woman he sees himself having a future with, will he settle for less just to be with Alex? I loved catching up with the Fierce Five and all their sibling bantering. Cade was much deeper and harder working than his laid back image projected. Alex was a tough independent woman and he wasn’t intimidated by that. I can’t wait to find out who Ella is paired up with the next book.

By book four in a series, a reader gets to know the characters and the back story, so that can make for a story that drags. However, the Fierce five are all so different and the amount of retrospective is kept to a minimum in these books. Enough so the reader can keep up with who's who, but not so much to make it boring.

Cade is the family lawyer and practical joke player. Having been burned in college, he is not one to combine work and play, but when the family needs a new printer, his match making mom goes to work.

Here's where I may differ from the other readers of this series. I like the women the mother finds for her sons more than I actually like the sons. Either way, I find this series very enjoyable.

Mamma Mia....here I go again!

I really should be reading these in order. I read the synopsis then the reviews. Book 3, Book 4 (this one) and will probably go to #5 next. Maybe I have favorites in these quintuplets.
Cases story made him The sensitive one, the jokester, the attorney and yes...The puker.
The book just flowed like a river with a loss of communication because of past perceived history. There was no big drama scenes (thank goodness) it was people who have a strong work ethic and a Mama who conspires to find a spouse for her children. If there is going to be a evil villain I would say it is Mama....in a good way. Definitely a happily manipulator. I think a little novella should be in order how Mama got her husband.

Enjoy the book and the series. I am.

Cade is the wild one of the family. The one that never took anything serious as a kid and always played pranks on everyone. He's an adult now and more mature, though not everyone sees it.

Alex was burned by a bad relationship from a guy that just wanted her for her looks. She's more focused on building her family business and has no time for good looking men who are cocky.

When her and Cade are pushed to work together, thanks to meddle mama Jolene, sparks start to fly and both Alex and Cade realize that what they both thought they didn't want, they really needed.

Cade is the fun loving quintuplet, the prankster and the one whom no one takes seriously despite his lawyer and negotiating skills. His past and playboy reputation come back to haunt him when he falls hard for a girl who is having trust issues after the breakdown of her last relationship. A well written romance that I read in one sitting.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another one falls...

Cade Fierce is the prankster, attorney, businessman for the Fierce Five. With a little push from his mother, Cade meets Alex(Alexandra)under the guise of business. They are both attracted to each other but Alex has had a horrible past relationship and lots of misconceptions further and holds herself back. Cade is all in from the start. Cute fun read in the series.

Natalie Ann has done it again. Cade is the family prankster and never takes anything seriously in life, or so he gives the impression. Alex has been burned once and doesn't want to again. When she starts working with Cade she finds that what she didn't want is really hard to fight when someone like Cade is doing and saying all the right things. I can't wait for Ella's story now!

Sweet

The final Fierce boy is down for the count. Cade finally gets his happily ever after with Alex. Not only can she match his cocky and at times diarrhea mouth, she’s a match for his business side to. This was the perfect story for Cade’s character and I can’t wait for the final Fierce.

Swoon worthy

Cade and Alex were an absolute joy to get to know. They had so much more in common but didn't see it or chose to ignore. Their story flows like a stream with occasional snort laugh moments. I'm going to have to get the first book in this Quints series and catch up with the rest of the Fierce five!

Solid 3 star

I pick these up when I see them because I know I can count on a quick light read with character and plot. There's always a strong sexual element hut character driven. The basics are on the formulaic side, but the different characters and how things get in the way tends to keep them interesting and sufficiently distracting for me.

Good read

Match making momma, with joker son Cade and very serious Alex. This was a good light romance. Easy to read. A few curse words, and some sex scenes. Very few grammar mistakes that I could find. Loved Cade. Typical funny on the outside, but serious on the inside. Alex got on my nerves at times. All in all, I would recommend to others that want a quick read.

Spelling

I might give this series a 5 star if it weren’t for the fact of the continued use of beers. When I was in school, we were taught beer was singular and plural. When did that change?? Annoying!!!

Must read series

This book in the series was probably the most serious. It had the funny moments but not as funny as the others. Cade is a funny character and his personality does come thru but his problems ( nausea and diarrhea of the mouth) keeps him grounded

It’s a cute read and Cade is a very sweet man. This story is well written but just didn’t have the wow factor like the previous two. I felt for Alex and her family and work situation. However she seemed a little shallow to me.

Yet another amazing book in the Fierce Five Series. I wasn't sure about Cade when I started this book. I mean I knew Natalie would do a great job as always and I have looked the other 3 books but Cade was my least favorite sibling in one sense in that he was kind of a playboy. Well Natalie made me fall in love with Cade just like she did Brody, Aiden and Mason all. I absolutely loved that Cade fell in love with Alex first and loved seeing him worrying throughout the book about it all. I loved Alex as well. Now it's time for Ella. I'm so happy that I waited on starting this series until they were all out because I would have been dying between them all with the wait time. LOL!

So, the last of the Fierce boys to find love, Cade, the Playboy of the group becomes acquainted with Alex, who is trying to revive her family's printing business.
They find attraction and enjoy each other's company. However, Alex has recently been burnt by a previous relationship, and is skittish to start a new one.
Off course the whole family have their input, and life is complicated by others with their own agenda agenda, but you need to read this great story, to fully understand the various aspects of the saga as a whole.
