When a threat is made against the world, Arthur and Gwendolyn must work together to stop a powerful corporation from destroying the earth’s ecosystem.

description ~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
When I finished the previous book in this series, I declared it my favorite book of the series. Well, move over NIGHT because this one has nudged you out of first place (lol). This was such a delightful book to read. It was so super sweet. The writing was fantastic. It was well paced. The plot was engaging, and it made me bawl like a baby. What more can you ask for?

~HERO~
ARTHUR...What can I say about Arthur? He was one of the sweetest heroes I have ever read. He was patient. He was charming. He was loving. He was all about Gwendolyn from the minute he lays eyes on her. I loved him.

~HEROINE~
GWENDOLYN...I adored Gwendolyn just as much as Arthur. She was charmingly awkward. She was wicked smart. I loved that when it came to Arthur, she wasn't afraid to push her limits. She was a great heroine.

description

~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
There wasn't a huge cast of secondary characters in this book, but we do get to see glimpses of some other Hero Society members.

~HEAT LEVEL~
VERY LOW. There is only one mildly erotic sex scene.

~ANGST LEVEL - SEXUAL HISTORIES~
LOW. This book was very low on the angst scale. It is very insta-love and easy peasy relationship wise. The heroine was a virgin which a HATED because I am so tired of virgins in romance books. However, I also understood why she was still a virgin, so I tried not to let it tick me off overly much (lol). The hero wasn't a virgin, and he didn't appear to be a manwhore (at least for the past year). There was no OW or OM drama either.

~IN THE END~
Did I enjoy it? Completely!
Was it perfect? Pretty much!
Would I recommend it? 100% YES!
Who would enjoy this book? I think this would be a hit with all kinds of readers, and it should be safe for most readers as well. description

4.5 STARS!

❝Just to be clear—in case it wasn't obvious—I'm yours, and I'm wild as the sea for you.❞

Jessica Florence has outdone herself with this book. WINTER was everything I've come to expect from this series and I loved everything about it, not just the main characters—Gwendolyn & Arthur owned my heart—but all the different messages she delivered in this unique, quirky, and cute as fuck tale!

Gwendolyn & Arthur might be heroes, but Jessica Florence is the ultimate hero, delivering an original story with a fantastic writing and an engaging plot that will have you wanting to be part of the Hero Society and wishing to have your own companion, definitely one of my favorite books of this year!

You can read Winter as a standalone, but if you have the chance to read the other books in this series, please read them—so you can get lost in this wonderful world full of love, friendship, and heroes.

I absolutely freaking lived Winter!
Jessica Florence has astounded me with this book and I simply couldn't get enough of it!

This story touched me. It looked into the subject of identity, and into the subject of disability. The main female character, Gwendolyn, has Aspergers Syndrome, a form of autism, and it helped me understand it more, understand what goes through the mind of somebody who has autism.

I loved the superhero aspect of this novel. It made the book more exciting and fun to drama, plus the drama that came around the whole superhero thing. I loved the fact that they had superpowers that I felt belonged to them. It was a completely different book to what I've read before, but I feel the need to read the entire series because just from Winter, I want to devour the entire series until I'm sick of it!

Winter is a spectacular, fun and dramatic read which will literally take you to another world, a world that you will definitely enjoy!

I quite enjoyed this little spin-off addition to the Hero Society series. For those who have read the series so far, WINTER takes place a year after Night.

Gwendolyn was a complex individual yet written in a way that made it easy to relate to her. Being on the spectrum, she’s always known she was different and has tried her best to be as normal as she could. For the most part she’s kept to herself and focused on what gives her comfort. Her power works to her advantage and she uses it to not only help her but she strives to give to those who would need comfort as well. She has a very giving heart, yet not many know that since they find it hard to read her most of the time.

But Arthur isn’t just anyone. He’s loved his life of luxury with women but had no substance in his life. After everything that happened before with the battle against evil the Hero Society fought so hard against, he has a second chance to make more meaningful choices in life. This puts him in the path of seeing the beauty that takes his breathe away and claims his heart. He has an instant and deep understanding of how to communicate with Gwendolyn. He gets her in a level not many could and this makes it easier to open up and get that confidence she needs to be bolder and more open and accepting of her emotions.

It was a beautiful story and I felt it was more engaging for me, the reader. Compared to the previous books the characters had more depth and the story line had more substance which built throughout the story. Definitely my favorite of the series.

5 amazing stars! I think I say this with each book I read of this series but I think this is my favorite!! Ahhh I love it!!

This is book 5 in the “Hero Society” series. I think they can all be read as a stand alone but I personally wouldn’t recommend it. You would possibly get a little lost. Trust me this series is great!!

This is Gwendolyn and Arthur’s love story, and yes it is winter time. If you follow the story line you have been pumped to meet some new hero’s!! I was worried how we would integrate brand new ones but the author killed it!!

Gwendolyn has Asperger’s syndrome and is a genius with robotics. Her super power?!?! Wielding metal to her will. I love it. I think that is a bad ass power. And then we have the one and only Arthur, who did some big shit in the previous book. These two hero’s are a match made in heaven. I love them together so much. I think Gwendolyn is bad ass and Arthur is so chill and patient.

This book drew out emotion from me and pulled me in with this sweet as sin love story. It got pretty steamy too!! At one point I caught myself shedding tears. Damn that Arthur!

Oh and those robots are like awesome. I want one!! I think Teddy is hilarious!!!!

This book was different from the rest and I enjoyed it quite a bit. It still had the heroes in it but more love less action. I can’t wait for the next one!! Great read!!

**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my late but honest review (I am very sorry for the extremely late review, the move and other important issues got me off track and I am now almost caught up)**

I was given an advanced readers copy of this book and have decided to leave a voluntary honest review. I can't get enough of the hero Society, I mean these men are just to good to be true. But they are truly amazing. I believe aurthur is extra special because he truly is hero he sacrificed his life more than once. It takes a real hero to do that. Gwendolyn was completely different, I loved how Jess showed that even a person with disability can still live a normal life, and find love. That was truly amazing to witness.

He was color, and I was the blank canvas. Together we made art

Gwendolyn is not your typical hero but is as kickass as all the others. She is a robotics genius & despite being cast aside by her parents for being different, she is saving lives in more than one way.

Born again, Athur is determined to leave behind his "asshole life" behind & live his true life full of colour.

They say opposites attract but the heart wants what the heart wants. & their hearts melt for each other.

Would definitely recommend this book & all others in this series

Gwendolyn & Arthur....sigh

I seriously LOVED this book! I love that Jessica wrote a heroine who isn’t your typical female character. I think she did a great job of writing an Asperger person. I love that Arthur was just 100% in and willing to help after what happened in Night!
I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series!

How to tell you how amazing this was without giving it all away? Maybe by asking what is it you are a die hard nerd over? I venture to say that Jessica Florence caters to any kind of nerd you are and gives you more nerdhood! Yes I just now made that up! You like hero stuff....got it! You like Greek mythology.....got it! Sweet romance with witty banter....done! A little steamy love scene...check! Maybe a little hidden Disney reference...got it!
So I couldn't wait to get my grubby kindly hands on Winter because I have just absolutely loved each of the previous Hero Society. Yes, you can read this as a stand alone but I prefer to have things in order so I catch all the details and I love getting to revisit my favorite characters a little bit. I always start thinking there is no way I will love this one as much as the last one. I am always wrong. Arthur and Gwendolyn are to die for. I love that she is an Aspie and doesn't mind to tell people about it and has devised clever ways of dealing with it. I want my own Pops and Cora so bad I can't stand it. Gwendolyn had me totally had me from her do you play beach volley ball inquiry. I love the way Jessica wrote these two to see the beauty in each others flaws. They each add so much to the others strength. Arthur meets the needs Gwendolyn didn't know she had and it's beautiful finding out about love with her. You can't help but cheer her on and then hurt so much for her.
The Hero Society books are all POV and I LOVE seeing the scenes from both characters perspective. That part is especially good with the steamy scenes too. I cant wait to meet more heroes because you get a sneak peek at Spring at the end of this book. Also I totally love the playlists at the back.
Without a doubt Jessica Florence, you did it again girl! Thank you for Arthur and Gwendolyn.

Oh how I missed this series!!!

Gwendolyn's life has been one test after another and she still struggles to wade through daily existence. She has her friends and her life sorted into neat little boxes. Enter Arthur, who wrecks all sorts of amazing chaos on her life and she can't help but want more and more.

Arthur's life is his art. Then one day he meets his muse and his world gets tilted on its axis. There's something about Gwendolyn that pulls Arthur in, everything about her is intriguing, soon he realizes his life is intertwined with her in ways he only could have imagined.

With a new threat looming, can the heroes once again save the people from doom? Or is the destructive history bound to repeat itself?

I am so happy to get back into the Hero Society universe.

It's not long after the events in Night and a new threat is all ready to destroy the World the heroes barely saved. Like all the previous books, this story was fast - paced, thrilling and such a exhilarating ride. I adore each and every one of these characters and cannot wait to see what's more in store for these superheroes.

Gwendolyn and Arthur were so damn cute, I can't even deal with it.

Arthur is a man recovering and learning from his past mistakes and I absolutely adore this reformed bad boy. He was such a sweetheart and his love for Gwendolyn made me swoon so much. I love his interactions with Cora, I just wish there was more of Cora's badassery in the story.

Gwendolyn is an amazing character. With all that she has been through plus her exceptional talents, she could easily have been a super villain but she is so pure and such a darling. I am so happy to have read about her incredible journey.

This story tangent has only just started and I'm sure there is so much excitement left in store.

Oh my god i absolutely loved everything about this book i know this is supposed to be a spin off series but it was just like we were back in the land of all our hero’s.

I love the way Jessica’ Florence writes these books you can tell she is passionate about the characters and story line and loved writing them. I can tell you i love reading them, they are such a different story and get me sucked in from the start.

I love how we have had such different storyline’s and you just fall in love with the characters straight away and how Jessica Florence brings in little bits of Disney and it really does make you smile. There was times when i thought noooooo you can’t be doing this to us and getting a little upset but i will admit that’s what i love about reading that you get so sucked in that you are smiling without realising it because you get to the end and freaking loved the book.

Both these main characters were different i did love Arthur he was sweet and he was determined to get what he wanted and live life to the fullest after what happened to him. I think Gwendolyn is one of my favorite characters she is so special and really though Jessica Florence brought out the best of her and her condition and wrote it really well.

I don’t want to give to much away but if your looking for something different, exciting, a book that makes you laugh, cry and cheer on the hero’s then this one is for you. If you have read the other hero society book you will absolutely love this one.

A huge, massive 5 of the best stars ever

Oh how I L❄️VED this book!
Sweet, cool, funny, heartfelt, unique and quirky, it was everything I’ve come to expect from these extraordinary Seahill residents as they (attempt to) save the world.
Within pages I had an inkling Winter was going to be JFlo’s most organically romantic story from the series so far, and (IMO) it sooooo was.
Gwendolyn is a heroine like no other I’ve read before, beautifully and perfectly imperfect.
Arthur, ugh, where do I even start with this man? And how he was with Gwendolyn - alllll the heart-eyes.
Together these two became my new second favourite Hero Society couple.
Add in Pops, Cora and Teddy (sidebar: I read an ARC so just sayin’ there better be a damn order form for my very own bots in the back of the book when it releases) and I was completely lost to the real word.
With scenes that included past series faves (#LilithIsStillTheShiz 🙌🏼), and a sneak peak of Hazel & Maddox from Spring, this read was every geekish, nerdy, wannabe super-powered human book addict’s idea of a good time.

I don't even know where to begin with this review. The Hero Society along with it's author Jessica Florence have quickly become a favorite for me. Jessica has this way of writing that I just adore, she truly makes you fall in love with these characters. Gwendolyn and Arthur are two amazing characters,I was a little nervous when Jessica had said that one of her characters was going to be on the Spectrum and have Aspergers Syndrome, but she managed to write her in such a way that you could connect with her and totally understand what she was feeling. Now Arthur he was just swoon worthy,I love him.

I don't want to go to much into the story because I want it people to enjoy the story on their own, but I will say that if you love the Avengers or X-men or really any superhero movie you will love these books. It isn't often that you get a book like this that isn't a YA book, it is nice to have books like this in more of an Adult manner.

If you know whats good for you, you will read these books as well as anything else that Jessica writes.

And side note Pops is the best <3

Jessica Florence is one heck of a storyteller and has a crazy amazing imagination! The new characters in the Hero Society immediately pulls you in and doesn’t let you go! I loved Arthur, who’s a fun and entertaining character, and then you have Gwendolyn who is super talented but lacks social skills. She has a amazing gift and even more amazing ‘friends’ who are so lovable. These two characters are complete opposite but their gifts complete each other perfectly. I also enjoyed seeing the original Hero Society members in this book, all these characters Jessica Florence gives us gets ingrained in our minds and hearts. Arthur and Gwendolyn I truly enjoyed my time with them and I really loved watching Gwendolyn come out of her shell. I cannot wait for more of this new and improved Hero Society. Well done Jessica Florence!

This book was adorable! I read it really fast (well as fast as I could while being in college😂) and couldn’t put it down! Once again I fell in love with the characters and it was so fun seeing some of my fave characters from the Hero Society series (hmm, yeah I’m talking about you Leon😏). This was definitely a book that helped me get out of a reading funk from reading to much sjm.
I highly recommend if you love superhero’s and romance! But let’s talk about the romance tho! It was H.O.T! I loved the chemistry between Arthur and Gwendolyn. I also appreciate that the author took the time to research and write a character with a disability. It’s not everyday you see a character with Aspergers in a story so that was really cool! Overall, I really loved but It was a wee bit fast paced. Besides that it was great! I can’t wait for Spring to come out!

I'm pretty sure after every Hero Society book I read, it takes the title of my new favorite. Winter is no exception. When Jessica mentioned robots, I was a little unsure of how she'd tell this story. But let me tell you, never in my wildest dreams did I expect a story like THIS! Winter BLEW ME AWAY. The characters are so quirky, endearing, and totally relatable. I think they're my new favorites, for real lol. The robots were like an added bonus and definitely weren't what I was expecting. I loved seeing characters from the original Hero Society books, but this one truly stood on its own. I highly recommend Winter to everyone who wants swoonworthy, quirky characters with some fast passed action thrown in with a dash of nerd. That sounds like a perfect combination to me!

This book which is a part of the Hero Society world just spoke to my heart. Gwendolyn I will say is my favorite female character from this world. Sometimes I have issues with connecting to female characters in romance, I always tend to hate them or get annoyed by them. But Gwendolyn was just pulling at my heart strings from the beginning. Arthur and Gwendolyn may or may not be my favorite couple of this world. This was such a sweet romance and the way they fit each other so perfectly. AHhhhhh I literally didn't want this to end. This can be read as a standalone BUT you have to read the other amazing books in this series so you can get an intro into this awesome world!!! So my recommendation is to read the other before this one but ABSOLUTELY go out and grab this gem!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

If you love superheros you are going to love Winter! Gwendolyn and Arthur both have powers and are helping out the Hero Society to try and stop a powerful organization from destroying Earth's ecosystem.

Gwendolyn is on the autism spectrum and Jessica does an absolutely wonderful job describing what it's like to be on the spectrum, and writing this character as well as all the other characters in this book. Winter has action and romance and mystery and of course some super powers you wish you could have.

There is a huge twist in this story that I never saw coming and definitely shocked me. You know the author is good when they can throw something at you that you never expected. I also really loved the epilogue, it rounded out the story perfectly. Overall, Winter was a 5 star success!

Winter is the first book that I’ve read by Jessica Florence. But it definitely will not be the last!! It feels different than anything I’ve read before.

Now, heros, powers all those great special abilities are so addicting to read and watch. Add in this great love story, Gwendolyn and Arthur are so great to read. They are sweet and their story will leave you wanting more!

I really enjoyed the writing. Jessica really has a great way of creating this wonderful world you can’t help but be immersed in it. And want powers of your own. That always been a great debate in my house. I can’t wait to read more of her Hero Society series.

Once again, I am totally amazed by how this author keeps giving me, the reader such unique and thoughful books. Her characters are instantly endearing and they suck you right in. Gwen and Arthur are both the type of characters that could live right down the street from you even though they have superpowers. I cannot say enough that I am amazed on the spin Ms. Florence takes with turning an imperfection into something that makes the character stronger. There is no "poor me"! It is, this is me, love it or hate it, I will build from it. Pick up the book, give it a chance, read the series really! This author takes romance to a whole new place.

I love this series so much! It is unlike any other I have read before. The really cool thing about this series is the characters that have had major roles in previous books, make an appearance in the other books.

Same holds true for book #5, Winter, in this series. This was such a great story between the mystery of what was happening, and the relationship between Gwendolyn and Arthur. Gwendolyn was like no other character I have read about before. The author did an amazing job creating Gwendolyn. Arthur was a perfect match for her.

I love every book in this series and cannot wait for the next! If you’re looking to get a superhero fix – this is the series for you!!

Jessica Florence has found her niche creating the unique world of the Hero Society! I had previously read Dawn and was excited to beta read Winter. These books can be read as stand-alones but characters from the other Hero Society books come into play in Winter as we meet Gwendolyn and Arthur. Jessica did a fantastic job of creating characters and a story line "outside" of the norm for romance. With a few unexpected twists and turns, you will have to read til the very end to see how their relationship plays out and if the heroes do in fact save the day!

This is my first Jessica Florence book. I see there are 4 others in the series. I've been told this could be read as a standalone and I like that in a "series book" You do get to see other characters that are in the other books but it doesn't leave you wondering who they are.. *if that makes sense. :) * This was a super fun & cute read. I don't think I've read anything like this prior, So if you are looking for a different kind of read that will leave you happy and satisfied check this book out.

Winter was WITHOUT A DOUBT, my favorite superhero book from Jessica.... so far. That's saying something since all of them are pretty amazing. You should read them. 😉

Gwendolyn was such a BADASS heroine. I feel like we need more heroines like her. Arthur was the perfect hero to complement her. They were so CUTE. I can't forget about Pops and Cora!!! After reading this, you'll want a friend like them too.

I can't wait to see what other superheroes Jessica has in store for us!!!
