Leaders eat last, find your why and start with why 3 books collection set. Description : Start With Why Why are some people and organisations more inventive, pioneering and successful than others? And why are they able to repeat their success again and again? In business, it doesn't matter what you do, it matters WHY you do it.Start with Why analyses leaders like Martin Luther King Jr and Steve Jobs and discovers that they all think in the same way - they all started with why. Find Your Why With Start With Why, Simon Sinek inspired a movement to build a world in which the vast majority of us can feel safe while we are at work and fulfilled when we go home at night. Now, along with two of his colleagues, Peter Docker and David Mead, Sinek has created a guide to the most important step any business can take: finding your why. Leaders Eat Last Imagine a world where almost everyone wakes up inspired to go to work. This is not a crazy, idealised notion. In many successful organisations, great leaders are creating environments in which teams trust each other so deeply that they would put their lives on the line for each other.
I hesitated on weather to give this book 3 or 4 stars. I found it quite useful to me.
It is aimed mostly towards organisations and their leaders, and a little less towards individuals, but I found it much more enlightening on an individual level. It has changed how I see purpose and I think gives a relatively accurate reasoning to why many people lack confidence and motivation in their lives. It has given me a clearer perspective on what it means to be an individual.
For these reasons, I would have given it 4 or 5 stars.
However, the book is quite repetitive. I find that many of the chapters seem to repeat similar arguments with similar examples. In my opinion, the book would have made it’s point much better if it were half, or even a third, of the length. I did zone out multiple times while reading for this reason.
This is why I gave it 3 stars.
I nonetheless am very glad I read Start With Why and it definitely got me thinking. I think most people would find it useful to read this book.
One of the best and favourite book of mine. I have been always interested in the mystery of true leadership and used to doubtful if leaders should be more logical or empathetic. This book confirmed many of my own belief and helped me understand where we need to work on. Concept of circle of safety is most amazing. I can vouch for it from my personal experiences. When you feel safe and valued you tend to be more creative and productive.
How the balance of EDOS is important is something was a great learning for me. Working for people taking care of employees like your own kids. Working for employees and your customer, destructive abundance, abstraction challenges, relationship building, and shadow player, were some of the outstanding ideas about a true leader.
This book should be read again and again to bring the ideas and help provided he in practice. I am indeed gonna do that.
