Xu ZiYan has a little brother, and that little brother is gay. As an older brother, he has always felt a bit regretful.
One day he transmigrated into the inside of a novel and found himself with another chance to raise a younger brother.
Immediately rolling his sleeves up to prepare for battle, he planned to raise this little brother into an exceptionally good man! And a perfectly straight one!
Taking a lesson from his past experiences, he continuously perfected his training plans.
Clearly, he strangled any opportunities to turn his little brother bent in the cradle, yet why was it that the little brother he had used all his heart and blood to raise — was still a gay guy!!!
And he was a gay guy who made him his target!!!
Your father ain’t playing around anymore!
A body you can save, however a warped soul……how do you want him to save it?! What a godly problem!!!
A 3.5 stars for this somewhat charming Chinese BL cultivation xianxia webnovel with a twisted love interest everyone with right mind should avoid other than the book's super tolerant and mildly masochistic protagonist
Aside from the romance, cultivation and transmigration is the main focus of the story. The romancing is slow burn but super passionate and cray-cray as the love interest is a very possessive and yandere (cold) type of person. There is no one on his mind and in his soul except for his beloved, the protagonist. To him, everyone and everything else is just a waste of time and space. Yes, he has a very extreme type of personality. He is lucky the protagonist is highly accepting of such suffocating type of love and he is constantly spoiled by the protagonist as the protagonist is the doting type of boyfriend everyone wish for.
Writing wise, there are admittedly obvious shortcomings here and there especially that the author seems fond of telling rather than showing hence tons of inner dialogues by characters which I find somewhat repetitive. I would rather think and feel for myself than being spoon-fed like a clueless child. Where is the fun of reading if we don't get to use our brain and imagination? Books that makes you think would stay longer in your head and you would appreciate it more.
On the other hand I really enjoyed the cultivation journey and the adventures after adventures they both gone through together and loved that I get to see their relationship grow day by day and watch my ship becoming so majestic and smooth sailing. I also adored the total devotion they both shown to each other. The protagonist is easy to like and he is not without flaws plus he is no martyr and a well balanced type of guy who values self-preservation without being a dick about it. No doubt both of them has skewed personalities but it's hard to dislike their passion and devotion towards each other.
Apart from the lovey-dovey couple, there are also quite a number of other interesting and entertaining side characters that breathed life into the story. Such as those cute little sidekick creatures they picked up during one of their many adventures. They are truly fun and handy to have around. I want one of those fluffy cuties too.
If you are interested there is a fan translation over at Novel Updates. I read the book in it's original language via TTS so I wouldn't know if the fan translation is accurate or of unsatisfactory quality okay.
The storyline was mediocre until the chapters reached into the 80s. Then, it got interesting and entertaining. The brothers sought cultivation materials and worked to defeat opponents while building a closer relationship. The downside is the repetitive acts of obsession by the younger brother that were initially funny and understandable. But, this was overused in too many chapters that it became stale.
