තිස් වසරක යුද්දය පැවති සමයේ සිංහල සහ ද්‍රවිඩ පවුල් දෙකක් අතර ඇතිවූ සහජීවනය සහ විරසකවීම් ද ශ්‍රී ලංකා යුදහමුදාවේ සහ කොටි සංවිධානයේ අභ්‍යන්තරයේ සිදුවීම් ඉතා ආකර්ශනීය ලෙසට ඉදිරිපත් කල නවකතාවකි.

එක් නිමේෂයක එක් අවාසනාවන්ත සිදුවීමකින් සිය මුලු ජීවිතයම කණපිට පෙරලෙන ඇය කවිතා නොහොත් මා. ඇය ධෛර්යමත් කාන්තාවකි. සිය බලාපොරොත්තු එකින් එක සුණු වන විටද ඇය ජීවිතයේ එල්ලී සිටියාය.

සෑම කතාවකම දෙපැත්තක් ඇත.
සෑම සිද්ධියක්ම අපි පතන අයුරින් අවසන් වන්නේ නැත. නමුත් එම එක නිමේෂය ඔබේ මුලු ජීවිතයම වෙනස් කරයි. එය සතුටකින් හෝ දුකකින් අවසන් වන්නේ ද යන තීරණය ඔබ සතුය. නමුත් එම තීරණය කිසිවිටෙකත් පසු තැවීමට හේතුවක් නොකර ගන්න.

කතුවරයා කතාව ලියා ඇත්තේ අවසන් මොහොත තෙක් පාඨක සිත් තුළ කුතුහලය මැකී නොයන ලෙසටය. ඒ හේතුවෙන් මම මේ කෘතිය අත් නොහැර එක හුස්මට කියවගෙන ගියෙමි.

ජනවාර්ගික අර්බුද හේතුවෙන් අනේක ගැටලුවලට මුහුණ දුන් කවිතාගේ ගැඹුරු චරිතය මට නූතන සාහිත්‍යයේ හමු වූ අපූරු චරිතයකි.

මෙහි අවසානය පිළිබඳ ඇතැමුන් දුක් උනත්, මට සිතෙන්නේ කතුවරයා නිවැරදිම අවසානයක් ලබා දී ඇති බවයි.
