Not gonna lie...this was not my favorite in the series...

...However, I can't really explain why that is right now without giving small details some might say constitute spoilers.

description

I will say that I still consider this book a must read for the series and for AZ fans in general.

Some miscellaneous cameos alone make it worth every single page.

Also, a lot happens in this book to set it up for the next one - which promises to be fucking EPIC.

I am so excited for it, I could scream.

Also, for those looking to start the series, this CANNOT be read as a standalone.

In fact, to get the full enjoyment, I would suggest starting with Twist Me.

So good.
So worth it.
So, go download it.

Fate made us enemies. I made us lovers.
In a different world, we were meant for each other.
This is not that world.

First of all, I have to admit that I thought this is the last book of a trilogy. So, I was basically expecting two things from the story:
1. Sara accepts Peter and his actions and finally stops nagging and starts admitting that she likes bad boys.
2. Peter and Sara leave in the sunset happily together without the CIA, the FBI, the Interpol, the Scotland yard and most of the weapon sellers in the world running after them.

And these two things, more or less I got. More less than more. Because there is another book coming apparently. With new-old enemies. And with most of our beloved heroes from “Twist Me” trilogy, “Capture Me” trilogy and “Tormentor Mine” series in danger. So, if you really want to enjoy the Tormentor Mine series and the last coming book, I strongly recommend to read the “Twist Me” and “Capture Me”. And these trilogies are pretty good actually.

Now about this book, unfortunately Sara kept getting in my nerves because she couldn't make up her mind. There are two points of view in the book by Sara and Peter. And while I truly enjoyed Peter’s chapters, I was rushing through Sara's chapters because her mind was a mess and I had more serious things to do than reading about all her guilty thoughts.

Peter on the other hand was a joy to read. Yes, there were some moments where I was rolling my eyes like . And yes there were moments that I was laughing out loud when I was supposed to feel worried like .
But overall he was the perfect man -apart from the fact that he is a cold-hearted assassin who killed Sara's husband, waterboarded her, kidnapped her and made her his bitch.

So apart from these insignificant facts, he can cook perfectly, he protects her, he lets her work uncountable hours without complaining, he organises the perfect wedding with her favourite band, he buys her the perfect ring, the perfect house and the perfect car. Oh and they have perfect sex.
Actually they never talk. Every time Sara complains, they end up in bed and she has an orgasm or several orgasms. And she is exhausted. And he puts her to shower and then he lets her sleep. Maybe after a few orgasms in the shower. It depends on his mood, because normally Sara is too tired to object. Every single time...

Anyway, I enjoyed the book. It was not the best in the series. And maybe it should have been shorter. But I am definitely reading the next one to see what will happen with Peter and Sara.

“What happened?” Dropping the backpack on the bed, I rush toward him. “Do we have to—”

He catches my face between his big, rough palms and slants his lips across mine in a hard, violently hungry kiss. We didn’t make love last night—I passed out early from jet lag and Peter considerately let me sleep—and I can taste the pent-up lust in this kiss, the dark fire that always burns between us...

I don’t think you know how excited I was to get my hands on this book. Peter!! That’s really all that needs to be said. I knew I was going to be in for one heck of a ride and Anna Zaires did not disappoint.

I feel like I only read about half of this book. In all honesty, I barely skimmed Sara’s parts. Once again, she angered me to no end. I know, I know, it’s me. I just can’t wrap my head around her character. I just can’t and I’ve decided that that’s okay. In the grand scheme of things, despite the fact that this is her story too, she’s irrelevant to me. Peter alone was the driving force of this book. He alone kept me captivated by this tale. As the many times before, he was and is the ONLY reason I’m loving this series.
I’m as obsessed with him as he is with me.
… as wrong as it is, I belong to him, mind, body and heart.

Now can someone please tell how she can say things like that and STILL act the way she does?

We stand like that, holding each other without words, and it feels so right, in all its wrongness.
It feels like we belong like this, like we were meant to be.

Then why do you carry on the way you do all the time? It wasn’t until I got to the end that she finally started to make some sense. And it wasn’t even her who explained it for me. Once again, it was Peter, in all his awesomeness, who provided some much needed clarity. Now I get it! She wants to feel forced, like she has no choice, in order to be okay with loving him. I call bullshit, but that’s just me. Maybe. I’m sure there’s gotta be someone else who feels the way I do. I couldn’t care less about this woman, however, for Peter’s sake, I wish her well.

This book had so many moving parts and some interesting guest appearances of characters from previous books. That’s about as spoiler-ish as I’m going to get. Hope that whets your appetite and you decide to one-click this series of dark deliciousness for yourself!

4.5 stars, rounded up!! 💕

This is the second to last book in Peter and Sara’s story, and a lot has changed. Sara is starting to admit her growing, complicated feelings for her captor, while Peter is learnings that with love comes sacrifice. Their relationship has evolved to something resembling a partnership, but is that just an illusion? And more importantly, does Sara even want that?

Nora and Julian are in this book, and not just for a cameo. They are integral to the storyline, and it was probably my favorite part. I’ve read their story but not Capture Me, so I enjoyed this book just a little more than the last. It was awesome to check in on the Esguerra’s.

As always, Anna Zaires does a great job of creating an antihero that the reader can’t help but love. Peter’s obsession with Sara knows no bounds, and because of the loss that took place in his past, his possessiveness isn’t exactly rational. It’s hard to blame him, though, especially when we know exactly to what extent Sara is the focal point in his life. She’s the motivation behind everything he does, whether it’s to be with her or to make her happy. Make no mistake about it, though; while Peter is evolving when it comes to Sara, he’s still a sadistic killer. That fact is at the very core of who he is, and it tinges everything he does with a touch of darkness. Peter himself is as intriguing as any antihero Zaires has created, which says a lot.

Thankfully, the final book releases tomorrow. The cliffhanger in this one wasn’t too intense, it was just a way to setup the final installment of the story. It’s a relief that Sara and Peter are closer than ever, because they are likely going to need to be to overcome this next threat.

Side note: it’s been a while since I read the first two books, and my reference point for “dark” reads has definitely changed. I no longer consider this dark, I just think it has dark elements to it. I’m not changing the first two, because that was my opinion at the time, but just know that this story doesn’t even compare to the other ones I’ve recently labeled “dark”.

Destiny Mine by Anna Zaires
GENRE: Dark Romance
NARRATION: Dual POV Hero/Heroine
BOOK DETAILS: Book #3 Tormentor Mine trilogy
Book 1 Tormentor Mine
Book 2 Obsession Mine
AUDIO AVAILABLE? Yes

THE STORY:
This is book 3 in the Tormentor Mine trilogy series you really have to have read the first two books to understand the storyline of this. it’s recommended you also read the Twist Me trilogy prior to starting this trilogy.

The story picks up right where book two left off with Sara recovering in a private Swiss clinic from a near fatal car crash. Sarah is still raked with guilt and anger over her husband’s death and her ever growing feelings towards her captor.

“Even when we are oceans apart you are the only one I want - the only one I will ever want.”

description

MY THOUGHTS:
I absolutely loved the first two books in the series. I have to say this was my least favourite as Sara and Peter spent so much time apart and there was a lot of fill in fluff leading up to their reunion.

Peter is bold and unafraid in expressing his intentions towards Sara. He almost comes across caveman like and it’s is unbelievably sexy. Don’t we all want a Peter? A man who will do anything and stop at nothing to have you, a man that fiercely loves you and worship you. The only price of course is your freedom and the fact he is an assassin.

The Dominance and dangerous elements to Peter are amplified in the audio version of this book, hearing his Russian accent makes him one hell of a sexy killer.

Sara’s character again frustrated me in this book, she seems more concerned with what people think than how she truly feels. There is a lot of character growth and development for Sara in this instalment as she worked through her guilt over being in love with her captor.

The ending totally took me by surprise, I am dying to get my hands on Destiny Forever Book#4 in the series.

“You need me to make it hurt sometimes, to take control and force you. To take away the other choices, so you can embrace the one you really want.”

MY RATINGS: (All ratings are out of 5)

I haven’t read a book in a long while, and only Anna Zaires could propel me to.

I’m so excited that there is going to be a fourth instalment to Peter and Sara’s love story. Because I am committed to this illegal, violent world Anna Zaires has created. All the characters involved. All the spin off’s created. The original story where it all started with the abduction of Nora by Julian, a man who needed her like air to breathe. I’d recommend it highly because Twist Me is one of my favourite series ever. And all the books written are completely safe with all protagonists being sexually exclusive.

My previous reviews divulge more information. For now, the previous book ended with Peter being offered a hundred million euros in exchange for Julian’s death so his arms empire can be overtaken.

Peter’s relationship with Julian is fickle. Though employed by Julian in the past, the two did not end on the friendliest terms, Julian holding a personal vendetta against Peter who had endangered Nora, Julian’s wife (as bait) in order to save Julian’s life when he had been taken captive by terrorists.

For the first fifty percent of the story Sara and Peter are separated. He’s done it for her, to have a life with her. But she needs him. He’s given up everything for her. Including his vendetta to avenge his deceased family. There’s something incredibly sweet about them.

“Hi, ptichka.” Fighting the urge to reclaim those lips, I lower my hands to her shoulders, squeezing gently. “How was your day?”
“It was good.” She still sounds a bit out of breath. “How about you?”

Someone needs to call me ptichka. 👅👅

But something felt lacking. The cameo appearances from Julian, Nora and Lucas were exciting. But there wasn’t enough development between them as a couple. There weren’t enough conversations or time spent together despite craving that time to be together. Lucas/Yulia in the previous series had that development where they were very similar. Nora and Julian had that in spades despite being completely different; her interest in his business, her aptitude with weapons, training and running, her education, the need to know everything about him and being so young and naive at the same time. I personally don’t believe there was enough talking time of things they share in common, or traits that Sara has developed because she loves Peter. But I’m excited about the next book.

My favourite scene was probably Sara’s parents meeting Peter:

“Well, that was not what I expected,” Mom says as the elevator doors slide shut. “He’s… interesting, this Peter of yours.”
I grin at her. “You mean, gorgeous and domesticated? Yes, I agree.”
Dad snorts. “If that man is domesticated, I’ll eat my foot. A savage, that one. Without a doubt.”
“Chuck!” Mom frowns at him.
“Didn’t you see the way he looked at her?” Dad retorts as the elevator doors open on the first floor. “I’m surprised he didn’t club her over the head and drag her off to bed in front of us.”
“Dad, please.” The blush that had just left my face returns, magnified tenfold. “That’s not—”
“Well, of course I saw that,” Mom says as though I’m not there. “That’s not necessarily a bad thing, though.”
“It is when you are dealing with a man like that.” Dad glances over his shoulder, as though Peter might be listening—which, knowing his stalker tendencies, he might very well be.”

4.5-5 ptichka Stars!

I seriously loved this book. I know a few people have complained about the pace and were upset about . But I enjoyed the pace and found the story was still intriguing despite the lack of action.

Peter was just so amazing, he doesn't top Julian for me but he is up there. His devotion, obsession and constant need for Sara is so palpable. The author makes his obsession so abundantly clear with his every thought and action. His world begins and ends with Sara.

"My Sara. Finally, I have her. She's mine, and soon, the world will know it."

Sara's hesitancy about her relationship with Peter is still there but her walls have pretty much completely crumbled. She still feels guilt and anger over her husbands death and thinks she is betraying him by accepting Peter.

I have to say that the best part of this story was the ending because it clearly indicates that this isn't the end for Peter, Lucas, and Julian. THE STORY WILL CONTINUE!

I feel like anything I say could potentially be a spoiler so I'm going to end the review here. I will say the we say a bunch of Julian and Lucas in this story. And if that isn't incentive to read this book I don't know what is!

"You’re every wet dream of mine, every fantasy and daydream.

When I first started the Tormentor Mine series by Anna Zaires, I was completely taken by her words. I was so transfixed and hopelessly obsessed over them. This series held me prisoner and I soaked every single word and scene. The Tormentor Mine series absolutely tortured me. Caused emotional harm. And I loved it. It is books that cause torment that are absolutely amazing. Every book in the series made me ache and starve for me. But it is Destiny Mine that made me a lunatic and an addict. I waited such a long time after the events of Obsession Mine. I needed it like an alcoholic needs its next drink. When I got to read Destiny Mine, I inhaled and then devoured it. This book is EVERYTHING!!!!!!Destiny Mine made me crazy. Crazy over the plot. Crazy over the characters. Destiny Mine RAVISHED me. Destiny Mine BURNED me. Destiny Mine CLENCHED me. My heart. My soul. My ovaries. EVERYTHING. Anna Zaires definitely wrote a stellar third book. I was HOOKED.

Rampant. Gripping. Possessing. Ensnaring. Indulgent. Crazy. Destiny Mine was a mind blowing and heart melting dark romance with a fierce plot of vengeance, love, obsession and thriller. I craved Destiny Mine. Craved the dark. Craved the suspense. Craved the dominance. Craved the sexiness. Craved the savagery. Seriously, Destiny Mine needs a standing ovation. Wait a minute, it deserves an Oscar. Everything was spectacular and just gold. It is books like Destiny Mine that makes me proud to be a romance book blogger. The high paced action that engulfed me. The hugely charged violence that destroy you. The dynamic and addictive characters that question your insanity. Books like that deserve to be on some billboard and viewed to the world. Anna Zaires can write dark. She can make you emotional with her words. She can make you succumb to the dark with her descriptions and vivid mind. I want to be her mind. She is creative and definitely adds her passion and soul to her books until you feel it. I felt it tenfolds. Destiny Mine was unforgettable and provocative suspense featuring a possessive and obsessive anti-hero and strong hero in a gritty and menacing romance.

Peter and Sara are freaking gorgeous couple to read. Their chemistry is illuminating and electrifying. They just scorch the pages with their passion and love. Sara has grown. In the first book, I was annoyed at her. She has strength in her and makes me love her a lot as a character. In Destiny Mine, you feel the struggles of her mind. The struggles of being a captive to a lover. Peter just keeps getting sexier and sexier. He is extremely possessive. And I felt it alright. He ultimate devotion to Sara made me swoon. No matter how obsessive it was, I freaking loved his protective nature to Sara. He is dangerous. He is bad. He is a killer. But his love for Sara will make you drool.

I am so excited for the last Tormentor Mine book. I can feel the goosebumps. I know it is going to be truly epic. I highly recommend this series. If you love dark and dangerous, you need this series in your life.

When Anna Zaires releases a book, it is DROP EVERYTHING AND READ!!! Super #blessed to be a part of this ARC team because the Tormentor Mine Quadrilogy is wrapping up to be one of my favourites! For real, when Anna apologized for prolonging the series with another book, I was like, GIRL, MORE LIKE BEST DAY EVER (basically on par to when I found out Ella Frank was making another trilogy for Tate and Logan. Still not over it.)

I never really want to give much away because this goodness speaks for itself, except, obviously (or not?), please start this series from the start! If you're new to Anna Zaires I would even read her other trilogies, whose characters cameo in this one! It'll make you that much more thrilled to see them :)

If you're daunted by trilogies (in this case, quadrilogies!) don't be. One thing I really respect is that Zaires always releases her books in a timely fashion- enough so that I don't have to re-read anything prior (but always do anyways!). Her characters are also well suited to a longer story format- trust me, you'll be glad she didn't try to cram all this in one go. It's one of the things I love most about her work. The development of characters and relationships alike is subtle, organic, and masterfully written. None of these emotions are forced. It is raw, real, and I've definitely teared up more than once reading something of hers.

I loved watching Sara slowly let go and allow herself to fall in love with her captor and the darkness inside him that called to her. It was, understandably, a long journey, but in Destiny Mine we eventually see her get there- which is why I'm so happy their story doesn't end here. Sara has finally reached a point where she doesn't feel guilty for not always wanting to actively escape- hopefully we can now witness some moments of mutual marital bliss!!

Peter Sokolov is the alpha we DESERVE! Hot, possessive, lethal, and completely and dangerously in love. Already dreading the end of this series, but still... I could not be more excited.

***A side note- if you have an Amazon account, please consider reviewing this there!! While Goodreads reviews are great, Amazon reviews are about 1000x more helpful to authors in getting their books read! Anna Zaires is one of my favourite authors, she seriously deserves all the reads! I'm also pissed as hell because Amazon isn't letting me... for "not complying with our Customer Reviews Guidelines"???- probably because I mentioned I was it was an ARC in a previous review. And meanwhile they leave reviews of top products when people get something free with their next purchase in exchange for a review, lmao. SO MAD. If anyone knows how to deal with this, let me know for sure. But yeah. DO IT

Having read and loved both the previous books of the series, I've been waiting for this one almost desperately. I have to say that this was my most anticipated book of this year.

To be honest, the beginning was little boring. It’s just Peter and Sara far away from each other. Both are badly missing each other. Atleast Peter knows that they are soon going to be together for good. But Sara was completely clueless. She didn’t even knew whether he will come back or not. Maybe Peter should have at least given her some heads up. But it’s fine given the circumstances.
The last part took speed and was interesting. I loved Peter. And about the book having a fourth part. Well, to be honest, I’m not angry. I would love to read it. The epilogue has already made me curious. Sounds interesting.

5 STARS for Anna Zaires’ highly anticipated third novel Destiny Mine!

His obsession created us. . . .

The Tormentor Mine Series continues to blow me away with book three Destiny Mine. The story picks up right where book two left off with Sara in a private Swiss clinic, recovering from a near fatal car crash in Cyprus while trying to escape the Kents. Sara still continues to be ambivalent about Peter, and these mixed feelings for him are an important theme throughout the novel as Sara eventually faces her family and friends - who question her five months hiatus from her life in Chicago. Sara’s confusion over desiring her tormentor (and husband’s murderer) shifts as she gains further insight into what she truly needs from Peter:
I need Peter to be bad, so I can be at least somewhat good. I have to hate him in order to love him.
The dynamic of Sara and Peter’s relationship is thoroughly explored in this book and I really appreciate that the author took the time to really tackle the issues of their relationship as Peter contemplates how to provide Sara everything.
He understands, because he’s my dark, terrifying mirror, his cravings both inverse and parallel to mine. He loves me, he’s demonstrated that in the most vivid ways, but some part of him also needs to hurt me, to punish me for the pain of the past.
Even at the cost of Peter’s own goals:
I either take Sara, or I accept the deal […] I can’t have both.

I have been itching to read a captivity themed story where the captor must face the consequences of his actions by his civilian peers, and where the captive must resume her life as if everything has gone “back to normal”. While I can’t go into too much detail here, I can say that this story promises to deliver answers to a lot of the problems that were fashioned by Peter’s actions in book one and two. Peter is my favourite character and is a bit of a chameleon – integrating himself into other peoples’ lives while still maintaining his DARK “international man of mystery” status. 😁 While he is driven by revenge and has a domineering personality his obsession with Sara doesn’t cause him to react spontaneously, in fact every decision he makes throughout this story (over a long period of time... 😩) is calculated in such a way that will be advantageous for him and his future with Sara. Peter is willing to make sacrifices without truly changing his domineering nature.
“You need me to make it hurt sometimes, to take control and force you. To take away the other choices, so you can embrace the one you really want.”

Anna Zaires is a masterful storyteller who pushes boundaries and realistically executes key exchanges between characters that is most gratifying. The plot is tightly written and situations that create further complications for the characters are thoroughly explored. Ms. Zaires’ leaves no stone unturned no matter the problem and does so while keeping true to her characters!
I love the twists in this story! And I love how she crafts her stories in such a way that pushes her characters to their limits!

Destiny Mine will not disappoint! Expect a slow burn as Sara and Peter must deal with the realities of their situation. Expect a Julian-Lucas-Peter reunion. Expect things to get messy! Anna Zaire’s knows how to deliver a story!
Enjoy!

5 unbelievable stars.

Let me begin this by saying that I had not read the first two of this series. That, however, did not deter me from being able to pick up where the previous two books had left off. The author did an exceptional job giving just the right amount of backstory to not leave me in the dark. And also enough backstory to prompt me to go back and read this series in order. Now, that being said let me say that this book knocked my socks off. It was well crafted. The plot was ON POINT. Talk about suspense and anticipation. Good Lord. This author and the specific mellifluous way that she weaves her words is nothing short of bliss. Sublime bliss. I am truly in awe.

This book was more about an extreme situation and two unlikely characters finding truly unequivocal love (although that is a huge part of it), It is about finding love and light amongst the dark. Not everything is black or white. Sometimes it is in the gray area that someone can realize that it is okay to find love outside the box. She created a character, Peter, that is bad juxtaposed with good. I shouldn't love him because of his actions but then I do BECAUSE of his actions. Quite the conundrum. The author then creates Sara. Sweet holy hell, Sara. A woman that is both a victim and a woman battling with herself. She has guilt, after all, what woman would fall for her Peter if they had also been in her shoes? The dictates of society and her family and friends would never understand. Yet, as she learns that sometimes it is okay to color outside the lines. He loves her and she loves him. The feelings are real. This isn't the story of unrequited love. It is real. It is Raw. It is EVERYTHING! AAlso, this author knows how to give fantastic steamy moments. Sweet holy titfire. “For as long as we’re both alive.”

I can’t help but award another 5 sparkly stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 to Anna Zaires’ latest dark romance. She is definitely the Queen of capturing the undiluted essence of forbidden longing and desire.

Destiny Mine is Book 3 of her Tormentor Mine series and takes place in the same world as Twist Me and Capture Me. It contains some major developments in the entire storyline that crosses through all three series of the Twist Me empire.

Peter Sokolov is an ex-Spetsnaz (Russian special forces) officer turned assassin-for-hire, who became obsessed with the widow of one of his own vendetta targets. Dr. Sara Cobakis is a young physician-prodigy who was unaware of her husband’s double life before he was killed by Peter and afterwards struggles with her internal battle of lust and guilt as she falls irresistibly for her husband’s killer.

Anna’s writing is so exciting, emotional, tight, thrilling and intoxicating that you’ll want to finish it in one sitting and then read it over again! At the heart of this allurement, which refuses to let the reader go, is Peter’s promise to Sara that he would never let HER go.

“Even when we are oceans apart you are the only one I want - the only one I will ever want.”

What would it be like to be loved that deeply? To be watched so closely? To be controlled so completely? The premise sounds like dark fantasy but Anna makes it feels so entirely real. She delves into the psyche of her characters and gives voice to their thoughts and motivations in an uncannily insightful manner, making each action and each development seem inevitable. I can’t praise her writing enough - I can only encourage you to experience this for yourself!

(I received an ARC for this book but my voluntary opinion is sincere and entirely my own.)

I love AZ and her books they are always a pleasure to read and up until now I was loving this series as well. But I just can't do it. Sara is the bane of my existance. She annoys me so much. Over the past two books we have heard that her husband's killer, the assassin, bla bla bla and yes this time is no different and I've had enough.

AZ writing as always is flawless and the story flows well although I wasn't particularly keen on where it is heading.

I'm going to skip book 4. Different strokes and all that.

"This is what I want from him—and it’s definitely what I need."

Anna Zaires always gives us the alpha we want and need in her books and she continues to do so in her latest book, Destiny Mine, the latest installment of the Tormentor Mine series. Peter Sokolov is EVERYTHING you want in an alpha anti-hero! Sexy AF, dominant yet gentle, predatory yet protective, deadly yet comforting, loyal to his love and willing to burn down the world for her - oh and a scary bedtastic lover! But are those deliciously wicked qualities enough to make Sara acquiesce to her destiny with her obsessive tormentor? That is one of the many questions Anna Zaires poses in Destiny Mine.

"You are mine, ptichka. For as long as we’re both alive.”

When last we saw our tormented pair, their future was in question. Sara was recuperating from her failed escape attempt in a Swiss clinic. She was trying to understand her feelings for Peter and he was contemplating their future and what he would have to do to ensure they had one together. Were they forever destined to play this cat and mouse game? Would their relationship always be one of obsessive captor and tormented captive? Destiny Mine sets out to answers these questions as forces beyond their control conspire to keep them apart. But is that what Sara wants - to be free of her obsessive lover or is she now as obsessed with him as he is with her? Can distance and time dim their connection or will it make it grow hotter than lava in a simmering volcano, waiting to erupt and consume them?

"My future with Sara depends on it."

In order to keep the woman he loves, Peter devises a plan as dangerous as he is. A plan that will bring him face to face with a ruthless arms dealer hell bent on eliminating his biggest competition and Peter's deadliest enemy -Julian Esguerra. The tension builds as old rivals face off like gladiators in the coliseum. Can he pull it off? Will he make it out alive? What will be the cost for a life with Sara?

"We’re approaching the moment of reckoning, I can feel it."

At the heart of Destiny Mine is Sara coming to terms with her feelings for Peter and all of the inherent contradictions they contain. "I need Peter to be bad, so I can be at least somewhat good. I have to hate him in order to love him." The guilt Sara feels for loving and wanting a "monster" like Peter is ever present. It hangs over them like a toxic cloud. Only Peter's steadfast love keeps them weathering the storm of her emotions. He never waivers in his feelings for Sara. If anything, his obsession with her grows more intense with each passing day. He will give Sara anything in the world - except her freedom from him - on this he is intransigent. Can Sara reconcile her lethal lover's past fatal transgressions? Can she live with the knowledge that he will always be a man who plays in the darkness and can she admit to herself that she craves it...?

“You need this.” “...you needed that, didn’t you, ptichka?"

I could write my own book about my intense feelings for the Tormentor Mine series - for Peter. From the moment that Anna Zaires introduced him in the Twist Me: The Complete Trilogy I was drawn to him - much like the symbolic moth to the flame. You feel his icy heat in his intense stare, the prickles along your skin at his awareness, the breath your unaware you are holding until it rushes out when he touches you there... The magic of Destiny Mine is that Anna Zaires makes you feel every gentle caress of Peter's fingertips on your cheek, every delicious stroke of his hands on your warm "hidden" places, and every harsh tug of his fist on your scalp as he pulls your hair and drives you to your knees. You can feel Sara's love, desire and fear of Peter as if it were your own. You live vicariously through her from page to page, questioning your own feelings, desires, needs and darkness... Because to love a man like Peter you have to crave the darkness as much as the light. In Destiny Mine, much like Twist Me, Anna Zaires has written a book and characters that will stay with you long after the last words are read. Yes, Peter I did need this book and the next one... and you do too!

I was provided an ARC of this book for an honest review. All opinions of this book are my own.

Destiny Mine (Tormentor Mine #3)
By: Anna Zaires
5 For As Long As We’re Both Alive Stars

After the ending to Obsession Mine (Tormentor Mine #2), I counted down the days until this would land on my kindle!!! How in the world could I take my next breath with the man of my dreams mentioned at the ending in the way that he was?????

Diving right into this one to find out what would Peter and Sara be up against. Would Peter truly head to Columbia to talk with a man who vowed to kill him if he ever saw him again?

We experience the daily battles that Peter is up against. Wanting to make Sara happy and truly give her the house with the pet and kids. Yet struggling with how it could ever truly happen with the Fed’s and every other department after him.

Sara is truly the best! She sees how difficult it would be for Peter and her to have a ‘normal’ life. Yet when faced with a separation, she struggles because of the love that she has formed with her tormentor. She truly does love Peter but….

Absolutely loved the story! Got the well deserved answers we needed from book 2. Anna Zaires sure can write a thrilling, captivating, nail biting story. Oh and toss in some super hot bedroom scenes!!!

Bring on the final book #4 Stat!!!!

I have to hand it to Anna, she can weave a tale that spans multiple series and maintain the stories so well. You find yourself in the beginning angry with the male characters but she alleviates that with such detail as to what created them that you end up feeling for them and rooting for them.
When I finished Destiny Mine I was crushed that there were not more pages. I am an avid reader of a wide variety of genres, but have rarely had a book grab my attention so thoroughly that I was obsessing over when the next one will come out. The story is very well written. You can see the scenery, the characters and their emotions. Of the 3 books in the Tormentor Series, this one really highlights Peters fierce obsession of Sara and the inherent need to control everything around her. But at the same time it becomes plainly evident that he does love her and she isn't just an object of his obsession. It also finds Sara examining her feelings for Peter. Those of you who are Twist Me fanatics - You will be happy. Once you finish you will be on the edge of your seat waiting for Forever Mine to come out.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys dark romances. I have ready several but quite frankly, I have a hard time getting into them because they just aren't Anna's. If you are new to Anna I recommend reading in the following order: The Twist Me series, The Capture Me series and finish up with the Tormentor series. Don't forget the Krinar Captive and the Krinar Chronicles. Read all of them. You will thank me later.

Dear Destiny Mine,
You are still Obsession of Mine.
Anna Zaires did this again, she managed to crush all my expectations about this book and delivered something unique, sweet, twisted and so aching!

If you read Twist Me or Capture Me series, you couldn’t miss mysterious and ruthless Peter Sokolov and should be familiar with his ultimate vengeance plan toward the people who harmed his family. He lived for this revenge and nothing brought him the joy except revenging his lost family. I really enjoyed how tender and sweet this mysterious man was toward Sara( his unwilling/wiling captive🤣) Right from the start, I was fascinated by Sara’s sane behavior and her struggles not to fall in love with Peter. Because, it was a right thing to do, she refused to be weak and couldn’t simply forget about her career and parents. I respected her for that. But, Peter was impossibly sweet, kind, tender, attentive, protective, he was every girl’s dream.

“Even when we are oceans apart you are the only one I want - the only one I will ever want.”

Love is all about the choices we make.
Love makes us to compromise.
Love gives us the strength to change and grow in order to win someone’s heart.

I think, Peter did everything in his power to win Sara’s heart, to finally prove his unconditional love.
I don’t know how to continue my admiration toward Peter. He never speaks, he believes in actions and right choices.

This book gave me all the feelings. I forced myself to slow down the reading process, I didn’t want this journey to end. And I’m so happy that this third installment isn’t the conclusion of this captivating story. Anna’s writing was as magnificent as ever, storytelling was as captivating as ever and characters were as unforgettable as ever.

And then there was one ........

One last target. The person primarily responsible for the death of Peter Sokolov's wife and child who has proven to be the most elusive. No matter, as if Peter knows anything, it's that everyone slips up at some point. It's just a matter of time before that happens or Peter's extensive resources are able to locate his prey. Then, and only then, can Peter move on.

Sarah Cobakis has been abducted by the man who killed her husband though their relationship is complicated. Though her brain makes the case of "Stockholm Syndrome" her heart disagrees. The only way Sarah might have a chance of realizing fact vs fiction is to leave Peter, something Peter says he will never allow. She's his and will remain his forever.

When a life threatening emergency intervenes, the two will be challenged and need to decide what they're willing to do to have a future. The question as to whether that future will be together or apart is open ended as the US government wants Peter, who is at the top of their "10 most wanted" list, and will do whatever it takes to get him in custody.

* * * *

This is the 3rd installment in the "Tormentor Mine" series that continues the Peter/Sarah saga. For those who wonder, nope, this cannot be read as a stand alone. It's mandatory to have read the previous installments.

As an ongoing fan of this author and series, I was excited to get my grubby little hands on an ARC review copy of this book. Did it live up to my expectations? Well, yes, and no.

I do realize it was just a matter of time before something had to break. The two were in a limbo relationship because of outside factors. To date, that's been ok because of the evolving relationship and world building necessary. If this story hadn't progressed, I would not have been happy. As a side note, I had my fingers crossed that the 'moving forward' would include Julian Esguerra in some way. Happy times as the author fulfilled that wish.

Secondary characters. Did I mention that Julian & Nora make a cameo? Other characters from other series also make appearance but the one character who I needed to be a part of this story is the unknown factor. Did the author finally give Peter a chance to right the wrongs of the past? Yup. This is when I say that you need to read this book to find out, but, if you've read the previous installments I'm 100% sure you'll grab this one too.

So, if a romantic suspense story line, adult content erotic scenes, a measure of BDSM, and intrigue are what you're looking for, this will be a book to check out. My one grumble is that there is one last installment in the series (untitiled, no release date) that looks to be a barn burner based on the way the author ended this one. Not exactly a cliffhanger - more like an TV end of season teaser/hook to keep the reader guessing and frustrated.

Destiny Mine is the much anticipated 3rd installment in a series that has inadvertently revolutionized dishwashing for women across the globe. Ever since reading Obsession Mine, I personally get excited thinking of Peter whenever I see my kitchen sink. (If that isn’t happening for you, you might want to go back and reread book 1, or check with your doctor.)

But I digress.

I’ll be honest, Anna Z. kinda sorta fucked us over with this book as far as the ability to craft a decent review, because you’re essentially traipsing through a landmine of spoilers everywhere you turn, and one wrong word about who does or doesn’t get killed or how many hot bondage and backdoor erotica scenes there are where you wanna cut a doctor bitch just so you can take her place underneath Peter could land you in hot water. (Or preferably a hot shower in a really sexy blowjob scene featuring Peter.)

So I’ll just say that Destiny Mine contains a ton of set-up for book 4, which will be the final installment of Peter & Sara’s story. This book also really delves into the complex emotional and psychological hurdles for Sara as a grown woman unwittingly attracted to and falling in love with the criminal vigilante (Peter) who once waterboarded her and executed her husband for his involvement in the death of Peter’s family.

I can see how there may be a few frustrating moments for some readers with this book where you wish Sara was just a little more shallow or in possession of a lower emotional quotient and inferior moral compass so that she could get over her self-loathing at loving her husband’s killer faster—you know, so that the rest of us (who all pretty much agree her late journalist husband was a giant boob compared to Peter at this point, right?) can get back to enjoying our Peter sexy-time. But then we might feel compelled to scoff at her flat, one-dimensional character development.

As a dark romance novel critic, it’s often a tough call whether you wanna go the impatient horndog don’t-give-me-storyline-and-feelings-with-my-erotica route, climb the self-righteous soapbox, or simply opt for a pseudointellectual rant in your book review.

Not gonna lie, I paid $5.99 to have sex with Peter Sokolov. Straight-up. And I’d do it again. (But I’m pc enough to pretend to care about Sara’s feelings, too, so that I come across as a better person in my book review.)

But in all seriousness, at the end of the day, I like Peter too much to want to see him with a blow-up doll version of Sara who lacks inner conflict and emotional depth. And for me, an emotional payoff heightens the sexual payoff in romance and erotica novels. I am very much invested in these two and looking forward to more of them in book 4. :)

Anna Zaires is the queen of damsel in stress stories. Her fantasy is addictive and writing amazing. The way she writes is not about just the story, nor just the knowledge about military tactics, nor Russian ways, nor the strength and will to fight and carry on. It is more than all of that. It is about fining love, beauty, trust and toughness in the most unexpected forms, it is about understanding that there is no light without finding darkness first.
Can't wait for the final book of the series to come out

My goodness, I finally finished this book. I haven't read the other series. Twist me series and the other one. I don't remember. They said it was overlapping with this series. Well, I'm glad it didn't give me any trouble reading. I only read book #1 of twist me series. I still liked Peter so much better than Julian.
