Knitting Pattern: Premature Baby 10in Cardi and Hat Set

KNITTING PATTERN This sweet little knitting pattern is for a tiny premature baby knit, just 10 inch chest, using wonderfully soft 4ply (UK) knitting yarn. I created it because I wanted to make tiny baby clothes that were a more natural fit for premature babies. Since this cardi is for such a tiny little premature baby, the sleeves have been made specially to enable the baby to be dressed as easily as possible - it has wide sleeves which then close over with a button to the cuff. The back and fronts are knitted in one piece to minimise uncomfortable seams. The hat is a simple beanie which features a little reverse stocking-stitch border. This design uses Wendy Peter Pan 4 ply (UK) yarn which is really soft to the skin as well as machine washable. 2.25mm and 3mm knitting needles are required. It is knitted flat using 2 needles and is written using English terms. Cardi - 10 inch, actual size 12 inch Hat - circumference about 10 inch This design is lovey knitted in traditional pink and blue colours and the buttonhole bands are given for both boys and girls. It would make a lovely set to donate to your local NICU unit. My patterns cannot be copied in any format without my permission but I am very happy for people to knit up items to sell.
