rescue his fellow agentThe next exciting Special Crimes Unit storyFBI agent Radley Tumberg must rescue his fellow agent, Honor Remington, from a spiritual sanctuary where she’s being held against her will. But when he reaches her, posing as her estranged husband, he discovers the motives for her capture are deadlier than he expected. Can they escape the sanctuary and find evidence that its leader isn’t what he’s pretending to be?
'She'd never been so scared, so terrified. She'd never been so certain that she was about to die.'
I really enjoy discovering new authors. Especially when they've already written more books because then I can go back and read them one after the other. I saw this one on the shelf at Walmart and the cover drew me in, then the blurb on the back did the trick. I was invested from the first page and further reading only confirmed my opinion that Shirlee McCoy knows how to write suspense! The plot was great, her characterizations vividly done and I never did guess the culprit until the reveal. The main characters indeed seemed real to me and I'm very glad I picked up this book. I've already downloaded another book in this series and looking forward to reading it.
Well, this might just be my favourite Shirlee McCoy book ever! It is everything you want in a Love Inspired Suspense novel x100!
Great team dynamics include a tantalizing glimpse at the other members of the FBI Special Crimes Unit (this is book three in the series but reads magnificently as a standalone.) Honor and Radley haven't worked together before. She's usually computer geeking while he's out in the field but they suddenly get up close and personal when Radley is sent in to rescue Honor from the clutches of a cult.
It's heart-stopping, teeth-clenching, shoulder-checking action all the way through. I even had the shiveries during the 'quiet' scenes as I anticipated what kind of mayhem was only a page turn away. Awesome edge-of-your-seat stuff.
And the romantic development -- the perfect blend of laughter and angst with a healthy dose of toe-curling. And the quips! Some seriously witty wordplay going on here!
Pretty good! I did figure out the bad guy but still very good! FBI agent Radley Tumberg is sent to rescue a fellow agent from a religious sanctuary that turned out to be anything but good. Honor Remington thinks she going into this sanctuary to find and save a friend without anyone knowing who she is and thinks they believe her cover story but instead she is drugged and received terrible burns. She’d have probably died if her co-workers hadn’t been concerned and that her boss sent Radley after her. Honor and Radley grow closer during the escape and the other attempts on her life and know if they want a future together they need to figure out who is trying to kill her!
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Dangerous Sanctuary. This is the third book in the FBI: Special Crimes Unit Series. I really enjoy Shirlee's books and this one is no exception. This book is well written, full of adventure, and fast paced. It's filled with faith and I love that. You will love this book.
FBI Computer Forensic Expert Special Agent Honor Remington goes to Sunrise Spiritual Sanctuary to find her best friend. She believes she is in trouble. She wakes up when a man calls her name. He says he is with the FBI but she doesn't remember anything. Her hands are in bandages and she has a raging fever. As he talks to her it all comes rushing back. Someone is trying to kill her.
FBI Special Agent Radley Tumberg is sent by their supervisor to find Honor and bring her back. He is posing as her estranged husband. What he finds is the woman out of her head with fever, her hands burned, and infected. He must get her out of here. How had he worked in the same agency with her for years and not known what a wonderful, beautiful woman she is? Can he get her to safety before they recapture them?
A horrific journey from a crazed mad man and his deceived people. They must trust each other and trust God to get them out of this mess. God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him work.
I always enjoy Shirlee's books and this series has been a blast to read. This story has a underling theme and that is trust. You see it in the way Honor and Radley talk to each other plus the people they relate to. I like how she starts the book with a problem and it branches out from there. There is more than 1 problem going on and it centres on Honor. There is a mystery going on as to why this person wants Honor gone. The action is fast paced and will have you turning the pages to see what is happening next. There is suspense as well for we don't know til the end who is after Honor and why. Its kinda sad for a person should accept the love given and not want more. I look forward to the next book. I wonder who is next. Will it be Henry or will it be Wren?
Dangerous Sanctuary (FBI Special Crimes Unit) Shirlee McCoy
Book 3 in this series definitely doesn’t disappoint! Radley saves Honor from the Sanctuary where she went to find her friend, Mary Alice and from there the roller coaster ride of their life begins. Who wants Honor dead? Twists and turns that keep you reading from beginning to end with a big surprise ending. Strong characters in search of the truth with a strong belief. Love this book and look forward to more from this series and Shirlee McCoy.
I am really enjoying the FBI: Special Crimes Unit series by Shirlee McCoy. Dangerous Sanctuary is the third book in the series, and it is so good. It has a year's long friend that isn't communicating, a trip to a spiritual oasis that didn't end up being spiritual or a sanctuary and just enough romance. The narrator was great. I can't wait to read book number 4.
This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the third book in the FBI: Special Crimes Unit series. I read the first two books in this series before picking up this book, and I feel you could read this book as a standalone without any problems. I was pulled into this story right away, and I did not want to put this book down.
This was a pretty good book. But it just seems like there should have been more. I was really anticipating some big shocking surprise on who the killer would be but honestly I wasn’t really surprised. The writing was good though.
This was a good book. It had everything I look for in a book: intrique, mystery, a faith in God and romance. This book has all of these ingredients in abundance!!!
The main characters are dynamic and Devoted to their duties and their faith. Finding love amid a difficult situation and proving happy ever after does exist
