4.5 stars — This was most definitely my favourite story in the Aspen Falls series! I LOVED it!
The strength of this story lies in the individual stories of Leah and Kellan, and how they slowly converge. The romance was lovely, don’t get me wrong, but that’s not what kept me coming back to this story and wanting to hear more. It was the plot, and my connection to those two characters and what they were going through.
Melina was a total sweetheart, and while I didn’t feel we got as much time with her, I loved what I saw and how she supported Kellan. She seemed super sweet, caring, perfect for her role as a social worker. You could truly tell how much her work meant to her, and how seriously she took it. I loved her sweet crush on Kellan, and his accompanying crush on her, and I cheered when they finally crossed that line into more territory. They really fit so well with one another. They had great chemistry, and their romance gave me butterflies.
Leah’s story was both crazy and not. I felt for her as she walked that line between what she’d been told growing up with Robin, and what she was starting to observe about the outside world. How hard must it be to have your belief system shaken and have to figure out what was *truly* right and what was wrong? Sometimes I was a bit skeptical about her not recognizing/remembering things from when she was taken, but I forget that I remember nothing from when I was 4. Truly. I was enthralled with her story, and loved watching her face down her demons and try to get to what was real…especially since that meant opposing her friends.
When reading the previous books in this series, I always got the impression that Kellan was much older…but I think that’s partly b/c of what he went through and how that shaped him. He was such a good guy down to his core, and my heart broke for the tragedy and loss in his past. He was completely affected, and seeing him struggle when faced with Leah and the missing children’s cases just…UGH! It killed me! I can’t even describe what I loved about Kellan…he was steadfast, strong, compassionate, and an amazing leader.
The plot was really exciting and intriguing in this one! I couldn’t believe all that happened, and it had me on the edge of my seat quite often. I couldn’t wait to find out if my theories were true, and how everything was going to play out. And I was wholeheartedly satisfied with how it did.
All in all, this one was a total success for me! I kind of wish we’d learned more about Cricket and JJ and what happened with all of them. Or maybe a reunion with Bobby. But otherwise it was great!
It’s so easy to get caught up in this story. I loved following the three characters. Got a major case of the big feels and love how this story unfolded.
In and out. Simple. Try to break the record and get everything in under 8 minutes. This was a routine robbery. Until it wasn't. Leah got caught when Chief Kellen Marks decided to check on his parent's house. Now she is cuffed, in police custody and scared. She's messed up and there will be punishment. She's been taught how cruel the police will treat her and when Chief Marks and his officers are gentle and kind, she is confused. Then when her own people rescue her and they are the ones who are violent, they are the ones she is most scared of, she starts to question everything that she has been told. This puts her at great risk. Chief Kellen lost his little thief but he can't get her out of his mind. There's something about her that opens old wounds. He's long kept a tight hold on his emotions but this case has him raw and feeling. Not just about the past and Leah, but also about the beautiful social worker, Melina he called in on the case. For the first time in years, he wants more in life.
Daylight Robbery is my absolute favorite of the Aspen Falls series. These characters jumped off the page with their emotions. Kellen was so strong but burdened with his grief, his loss, his guilt. He was so worried about falling apart and letting others down that he forgot to care for himself. Leah was tragic. To be manipulated, loved in such a toxic way, and wrongly used and to still be caring and protective of others weaker than herself showed remarkable character; despite what outward appearances might look like. And Melina was the gentle soul needed to guide the broken, fragile souls she wanted to love. She gave them the safety to fall and the support to rise again more whole. I have never wanted a HEA any more than I did for these characters. Now I would like a follow-up book. I want to turn the page with Kellen, Melina, Leah. I need to know that Leah gets a real chance at normal, that she's not further hurt. I need to know that JJ, Cricket, and the little ones are okay. I need to know what happens with Robin, John, and Stella. But mostly I need a happily ever after for the little ray of sunshine and her daddy in every way.
Wow, I have to admit that this one really got to me. Kellan's situation, Leah and the other kids, and Robin. I'm not sure how to express my feelings about Robin and his treatment of the kids.
Kellan lost everything when his daughter Rae disappeared. Presumed dead, his wife left him, and emotionally unable to take a chance on letting anyone else get close to him, he lived for the job. When he happens upon Leah stealing from his family's home, he finds himself becoming invested in more than just solving a case. She reminds him of everything he lost, but he's also determined to save her with the help of Melina.
Melina was not what I was expected. I liked Jarette's sister and think she is a good fit for Kellan, someone she has always found attractive, but unattainable. When asked to sit in on the meeting with Leah, until her parents could be found, she jumps at the chance to work with Kellan. When Leah is broken out of jail, and Melina is caught in the crossfire, he decides that having her involved was a mistake and smoothly shuts her out.
Leah was the unexpected surprise that brought it all together. Raised to believe one thing, she gives the police a run for their money, but begins to questions things when she finds herself unexpectedly trusting in Kellan.
As things start to come together, Kellan realizes that his feelings for Melina are not going to go away, that his not dealing with Rae's "death" couldn't continue, and he will do anything to solve the case and help the kids. And as usual, just as those things start to come together, all hell breaks loose.
I loved how this ended...for the most part. Kellan is truly a good guy, and the fact that he gets his happy ending was well deserved.
I know this was a great read when I finish the last page and I'm wiping happy/sad tears off my face. This was a beautiful ending to wrap up the Aspen Falls series. Kellan Mark's has shut himself off from the world emotionally after the disappearance of his daughter Rae nearly ten years ago, however these memories are all bought back to the surface when he catches a girl breaking into his parent's house. After bringing her into the station for questioning and asking for assistance from social worker Melina, they realise this girl is a mystery and very important piece in a puzzle when she escapes via help from a jail break.
Now Kellan must face his old demons in a fight to rescue this young girl Leah and get her story and all the while learn to open his heart to new possibilities that he never thought he could have again. I laughed, ugly cried and was genuinely extastic with how it all got wrapped up. All the other children living with Leah were all so well written and I just wanted to know all their stories too, it felt like two separate stories merging into one timeline, I loved every minute of the suspense and drama, could not put this one down, simply brilliant!
This book closed with golden key the Aspen Falls series. I have always wanted to know Kellan's story and the disappearance of his daughter, and this book fills us with emotion with all the events and memories of the past. Leah doesn't have many memories of her past, only that she was raised along with others to be the best at what she does. However, when she is arrested by police officer Kellan attempting to rob his parents' home, she realizes she will have to pay a heavy price for the life she takes. After arresting Leah, Kellan begins to have several memories of his missing daughter and must deal carefully with this case to find out what is really happening, for this he relies on the help of the social worker Melina. The attraction between them has existed for some time, but neither has made any move toward this. When the station is attacked for Leah to be released, Aspen Falls Police realize that this case is bigger than they thought, and Kellan will do everything to find Leah and find out what's going on. At the same time, he and Melina need to figure out what to do with the feelings that only grow between them. The end of this story was thrilling and surprising. I loved this book and the whole series. I highly recommend the reading.
Melina Pryor is a social worker in Aspen Falls, she is called in to the police station to help with a teenager that was caught robbing a home. Kellan Marks is shocked to discover a couple of teenagers robbing his parents house. After calling backup, and a foot chase, one of the kids is taken into custody. Kellan takes an emotional beating when he realizes that the teenage girl is around the same age as his daughter, who disappeared many years before. Melina just wants to help the girl, and the man she has come to love. Absolutely fantastic book with lots of suspense and an engrossing, powerful, emotional plot that can make you cry. Fascinating, unique, and well written characters. I loved this book!
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. I really enjoyed “Daylight Robbery” it’s the last book in the (Aspen Falls Series). Melissa Pearl has written another fantastic, addictive story and I found myself saying “just one more chapter” until I reached the end. This Book has lots going on, plenty of mystery and suspense that really held my interest and kept me glued to it. I loved the Interesting, Entertaining Storyline and the super, engaging characters. Their intriguing chemistry and interaction had me hooked on their story from the first chapter. It’s an enjoyable, entertaining, must read romance story and I loved reading it.
Ending a story with an emotional sigh is a good thing, there's questions and possibly more to the story but I like it ending there where I imagine my own HEA. This police chief is a lovable character with a heart breaking past. Through the story I kept thinking could it be or is the author throwing a red herring and I'm about to be heart broken for him? The story was every parents' nightmare, not knowing where their child has gone. I think this one is my fave of this series, it kept me glued to my kindle. I loved it and highly recommend this book.
Wow, what a powerful story. A new-age Fagan with a group of teenage thieves. He kidnaps them when they're young. And, through fear, intimidation, and lies, makes them believe they are unloved and unwanted--except by him, of course. The romance between Melina and Kellan helps offset the grittiness of the story and the revelation about Leah will blow your mind. A first-class read.

SO happy for the happy ending after everything that everyone has been through. Absolutely love Kellen's character and what he tries to do to save who he loves. Amazing series great ending to it.
A quick and enjoyable read. Enough twists and turns to keep me interested and excited to read more. A beautiful love story. A bit predictable at times, and I wish it had been slightly more complicated, but it all made sense and worked well within the context of the story. I would recommend this book!
The sixth and final book in the Aspen Falls series it is a well-written book and if you have been following this series is one you do not want to miss. One house break-in leads to so much more. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Wow, another great. The sixth and final book in the Aspen series. A robbery that doesn’t go well, perhaps a romance later on. Had to keep reading to find out. Wish there was more to come.
Yet another gripping page-turner to add to the tally of the fabulous Aspen Falls series. Kellen, Melina, and Leah burrow their way under your skin right from the start and steal you heart as they face their individual and collective struggles. You’ll root for the trio and share in their heartbreaks and their moments of levity. I can’t recommend this book and the rest of the series highly enough!
Melina and Kellan's emotional love story was beautifully written, and I loved the special moments between them. Daylight Robbery is my favorite Aspen Falls novel! The storyline captured my attention from the very beginning and the suspense was done perfectly. Leah's story was heartbreaking, and the unpredictability of what would happen to her next kept me on the edge of my seat. Perfect ending to the series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary Advance Reader Copy.
I was privileged enough to receive an advanced reader copy of this book from the author for a voluntary and honest review.
Daylight Robbery wraps up the Aspen Falls series. In this book we are dealing with Police Chief Kellan Marks and Social worker Melina Pryor. I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well written and had enough chemistry. I was hooked from the very beginning. Amazing story and wonderful writing! All characters are three-dimensional and believable. The storyline is intense, it's gripping in the best sense of the word. Perfect ending to the series.
Daylight Robbery is the sixth and final book in the Aspen Falls series, and it is definitely the one that tops them all for me.
Chief Marks has been a stoic character throughout this series, and we finally get more information on just why and how he is the way he is. Not only that, but we get a sweet romance between him and Melina, the social worker who helps him love again.
Don't be fooled into thinking it is 'just' a sweet romance though. Oh no! We also get 'Jason Bourne' behaviour, which although it made me wince when I was writing it, made for an excellent addition to the story, really showcasing the 'skills' Leah has, and how prepared to do anything to get away from the police, and their brutality.
This is an amazing, heartfelt story, that I am happy to say does have a HEA, sadly unlike the majority of missing kids cases. Emotions run rife in this story, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
There were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. The pacing is smooth and keeps you on your toes until you reach the ending. The characters are all believable, both the main characters and the supporting ones.
In my opinion, this is the best book of the series, and absolutely recommended by me!

Daylight Robbery is the final book in the Aspen Falls series. This series has gotten better and better with each book. This book is so good. I loved reading this series and I'm excited to see what's next!
The Aspen Falls series ends with a “Blockbuster” story filled with emotion, suspense, and some tender romance. Friends of this series are already acquainted with with leading couple and their backgrounds, Police Chief Kellen Marks and Social Worker/Jarrett’s sister, Melina Proyer. This book has an additional leading role of a teenager and professional thief, Leah. Leah’s arrest sets off an action packed storyline. Her story is complex, intriguing and yet tender. As much as I liked this captivating book, I couldn’t rate it with 5 Stars, as the surprise revelation was too predictable. Rating: 4.25 Stars.
This was an amazing book. I'm so glad, I read this story! It kept me engaged! I loved Kellan and Melina. I loved their story. Lots of twists and turns! This book made me really emotional. It was a great story to end the series, but I'm really hoping for more books in this series! Want to see more adventures and cases for the Aspen Falls Police Department! Thank you for the wild ride, Melissa Pearl and Anna Cruise.
