His Bought Fiancée (Wedded to the Sheikh Book 1) By: Holly Rayner Hired To FOOL Others... They End Up FOOLING Themselves!!! When her friend talks her into going to her High School Reunion, things don't turn out GREAT... In fact, it's a disaster of Epic Proportions... Running out after seeing her Ex seemed sensible... That is until she's OUTSIDE... That's where she's realizes she looks like a HUGE looser & a COWARD! UGH... NOT Happening!! Snagging & Propositioning the first Long, Tall, Drink of Godly GOODNESS off the street she finds to be her STAND-IN Boyfriend sounds like a wonderful idea... AND, it works like a Charm... But, NOW... The SHOES on the other FOOT... She's Playing STAND-IN, but the stakes are HIGHER... She's not Playing the GIRLFRIEND, but rather she's being PAID to Play the Fiancée... She'll be "His Bought Fiancée," hired to FOOL his Parents... But instead, they're just FOOLING themselves.... I LOVE Holly Rayner's books; she's my go to girl when I'm looking for a Moderately Clean, yet certainly Se*y story! Whenever I see Holly's name on a cover, I know it's gonna be a good read :) It's gonna be a Feel-GOOD, let myself go piece of self-indulgence, & let me tell you... Holy HOTness... Has she ever hit it outta the ballpark again with this Grand Slam by giving us another truly Spectacular performance! Okay, okay... When doesn't she! LOL :) I was granted an ARC of Holly Rayner's "His Bought Fiancée (Wedded to the Sheikh Book 1)" via Booksprout, & of course I'm ecstatic to recommend it to others, because of course it's an excellent, no a Truly Fabulousssss read!! Trust me... this is a One-Click, straight into your library, Read! Don't miss out, because NO Matter the settings & or character type she's writing about, Holly Rayner always brings it home for her readers. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given. Until next time... Happy Reading!
I like Holly Rayner's books. However, this one is a disappointment. I feel that the overall idea of the story has potential but the story itself lacks substance. Alyssa, the female lead, was always overthinking things. Alyssa's life was just miserable until Ali came into it. She got caught up in the illusion of the fantasy of being Ali's fake fiancé, that when she came to her senses she had to confront the reality that it was fake. This was a serious let down for Alyssa. "She’d just been too foolish to see it. Too hungry for change. Too desperate for meaning." Too desperate is the key word here. When she’d lost Ali," she had been forced to wake up and pay attention to what she’d had all along. Parents who loved her. A supportive best friend. A yearning to make a difference in the world. All these things, Alyssa had taken for granted." I feel a more positive spin on Alyssa's character would have improved the story. Also, when she went to her high school reunion, it referred to her ex-boyfriend Derek. He was a reporter for the Times. This was an opportunity for the author to add to the story. There could have been a little excitement added by Derek finding out that Ali was a sheik and wanting to interview Alyssa and Ali. It would have been fun to see Alyssa exert herself and turn Derek down. It would have been interesting to have Derek chasing after Alyssa and Ali for a photo op. Of course, Alyssa and Ali would run away and laugh about it. Ali on the other hand was quite dull. His character did nothing for me. It seemed he too was unhappy with his life and tried so hard to live up to his parents expectations. He always felt that he failed at that. It was a little pathetic that as rich as he was and all the things he could do with his wealth, he did not do anything worth having. He had to resort to lying to his parents just to get them off his back. But it backfired on him. Not only did it upset his parents, but he also lost his friendship with Alyssa. Anyway, I just feel this story could have been better. A better storyline, a better plot and better characters. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a very quick read for me and I found myself wishing it was just a tad longer. The characters were wonderful and there was great chemistry between Ali and Alyssa, but I wish we’d had more time to flush them out. The story is told mostly from Alyssa’s perspective with only about 3 or 4 chapters being told from Ali’s, which resulted in us only scratching the surface of his character while we got to go in deep with Alyssa.
I really enjoyed getting to see Alyssa grow as the book went on. We started off with her feeling stagnant and unhappy with her life but with no idea how to change it. Then along comes Ali who brings a lightness to her world and makes the crazy dreams she's had seem possible. Now I hate the cliche, “Her life sucked until a beefy he-man walked in and she fell in love and now her life is awesome.” And this book came oh-so-close to making it happen. But the author did a great job in making it less about the fact that Alyssa fell in love, and more about the fact that she went through eye opening experiences and decided for herself what she needed to change.
My only real criticism of the book is that the ‘dramatic’ parts were a little weak. Pretty much all of the scenes that created tension between characters were due to a lack of communication. And then were solved by, that's right, you guessed it-- Communication. I understand that it is a valid reason for conflict to arise, but when the main reason a character is choosing not to communicate is because they don’t want to ruin the mood, I get a little annoyed. Grow some ovaries and talk to the damn person!
I wasn’t expecting to like this book as much as I did. It does have some issues, yes, but overall I found it sweet and rather heartwarming. This is the first Sheikh romance I’ve ever read so I have nothing to compare it too, but based on this story I will most likely pick up another and will definitely be continuing this one.
(Note: There is no explicit sexual content in this book.)
I loved this book. Alyssa is not looking forward to going to her high school reunion and after seeing her ex she runs for the door and as she reaches the outdoors she decides she can't leave but she can't go back in alone so she sees this gorgeous guy coming down the street and she asks him to accompany her to a party and she would pay him $50 and he agrees. Ali meets this beautiful woman on the street and so they go to her party and talk to her ex, dance, kiss and then he takes her home and she tries to pay him but he says no so she writes her phone number down and they part. Alyssa waits for almost a month for Ali to call her and when he does he asks for a favor and she says yes and when they get there he introduces her as his fiancée and she finds out that he is a sheik. After Ali's party Alyssa finds a $2,000 check and she cries but when he calls again she goes out with him again and when they come home he kisses her again and drops another $2,000 check and she vows to break up with him the next time they meet and for months they go on like this back and forth and then Ali says his parents are coming to visit could she go to dinner with them and she says yes because she is falling for him. Ali's parents are mean to Alyssa and she breaks up with Ali and a month passes before he calls her again and he begs her to meet him and she does and they go to his parents to talk to them and they tell them everything and how much they love each other and then they start to get along and then one day they go on a trip and Ali asks Alyssa to marry him for real and she says yes. I loved this book.

Alyssa was dreading her high school reunion but her friend convinced her to go. When she saw that everyone was paired up and doing so well even her ex boyfriend she made a beeline to leave the reunion. Then she realized that she would be talked about for leaving so she asked a stranger to pretend to be her date for the night for fifty dollars. Ali is shocked by what the gorgeous woman is asking for but he is intrigues so he goes with her. They have a great night together and she tells him that if he ever needs a fake girlfriend just to give her a call. Alyssa never dreamed he would ever call her but when he did she went to see him. This second evening with him has her meeting some famous people however she didn't expect to be introduce as his fiancé. Alyssa is stunned when yet again he sneaks a check to her without her even knowing. Upset when he shows up again she confronts him because she wasn't being with him for money. Will Ali figure out that Alyssa is the woman for him before its too late?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Ali and Alyssa is sensually hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any book lover.

This is a story about two lonely people Alyssa and Ali, who realises that their lives and careers are not going in the direction they thought it would be at this point in their lives. Alyssa went to college and became what her parents wanted her to be and working at a job they approve and now they are constantly telling her she needs to get married. Ali is a sheikh of a small country in the Middle East and has been in the U.S for over ten years, over seeing some of his father's businesses, runs around spending money and having a different wonen every week. To his parents, Ali is wasting his time and needs to come home, marry a princess, they pick for him, cause it's his duty to the serve family this way. Ali and Alyssa meet on the street, when Alyssa asked him to be her fake boyfriend for the night and promises to return the favor when he needs help. This is a light hearted story about two strangers meet, fall in love at first sight and of course a little bit of a language barrier, both trying to please their parents instead of themselves, but love always fines a way to the right people. I am volunteering to leave a review for a ARC of this book.
Alyssa has to attend her ten year school reunion and she feels as though she is a failure so she grabs a total stranger off the street and asks him to attend with her. Sheikh Ali is shocked when he is accosted by a woman on the street but she intrigues him so her goes along with her ruse. They have fun together and start to see one another more When he needs a fake fiancee to introduce to his parents she steps in to help him but his family recognize the ruse and call her on it hurting her in the process She admits to him that she has grown to love him and he is shocked and she leaves A month later he calls her and wants to meet again but will she stay away or give him another chance. This is another great Holly Rayner story her books are always a pleasure to read

At times, it's just really good to read a romance with no hot and heavy steamy s@x scenes. This latest story by Holly Rayner fits into this category perfectly for me. It's a sweet and clean romance about two people - Alyssa and Alic. She's just seen her ex with his wife and pushing a baby so she goes out into the street and grabs the nearest man she finds. This man is Alic and he's gorgeous as well as being an Eastern Prince [not that she knows this at the time]. He is wanting to get his pushy parents off his back about getting married so she has just fitted perfectly into his scheme. I really enjoyed this page turning story by Holly. Her characters, as always, are engaging and believable. Their storyline is unique and interesting and kept me absorbed in the story. Pretty simple, uncomplicated read. It was more like icing on a mini cupcake; sweet, uncomplicated, not very filling, but hits the spot occasionally. This read was what I expected it to be: completely unrealistic and idealistic. Nothing wrong with that on occasion. The few things I didn’t like were: 1) The amount of times the female mc said “Yeah”, 2) the resolution with his parents happened way too quickly and easily, 3) the instalove-after a few dates the main mc is declaring her love and calling it off because he doesn’t claim the same. A few dates. Really? 4) the end of the book felt more like an epilogue. The story’s natural end felt like it should have been with the two mcs resolving differences and getting together, not necessarily married. That was nice, but the book felt longer and a bit dragged on at the end.

This is the first book in Holly Rayner’s Wedded To The Sheikh series. A cute story that was fun to read. Imagine grabbing a stranger off the street and asking him to be your fake boyfriend for a night. Desperation makes people do strange things and what's more desperat than wanting to make a good impression at your reunion. A gorgeous sheikh and one night that may last a lifetime. Likable characters and an entertaining story. I read a reader copy via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review.
The title is kind of misleading, but it is a good romance. It is not every day you meet your future on the sidewalks of New York, but it is what happens to Ali and Alyssa. The scene at the restaurant was classic and well written. This is the first book of Ms. Rayner’s I have read, but it will not the last. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it. I did review this also on Amazon, but for some reason did not show up so wanted to make sure it was seen because the book is good
This story is certainly a feel good story. Of course there are the bad moments and the almost or completely (depending on how much of a wuss one is...) the tearful moments, but then again there are also the happy moments and the feel good moments. All in all, this story more or less has it all that needs to be present for a good story. I have by now read quite a few stories written by Holly Rayner and this one is no exception from previous ones. A good story and quite enjoyable to read.

This is an amazing read full of adventure and heartfelt. Alyssa is a paralegal and works at the same law firm as her best friend Lucy. Alyssa receives an invite to her High School Reunion and does not want to go alone. Alyssa goes after Lucy talks her into it and finds she is not happy with her life after talking to her classmates from High School. She decides to head out early but runs into someone she tries to steer clear of.

A hilarious rom-com that is both heartwarming and frustrating at the same time. Alyssa needs a fake boyfriend for her 10 year high school reunion. Ali needs a fake fiancée to get his parents off his back. As they begin a friendship of sorts, both find what they never knew they wanted. Filled with lies, hilarious situations, heartache, tears, passion, and love. His Bought Fiancéewill having readers laughing, crying, and falling in love with Alyssa and Ali from beginning to end.

I loved this book. Definitely worth 5+ stars. Well written. Great characters. Hooked from beginning to end. The author writes in a style that allows me to watch a movie in my head rather than just reading a sequence of words. Holly Rayner is one of my favourite authors and this story is definitely up to her excellent standard.

Rayner chose to take the obvious route to romance. His Bought Fiancee brings a dash of fairytale to reality when a damsel in need becomes a princess indeed. Alyssa gets more than she bargained for when she tries to deceive. Standing in the shadows of heartache puts her in the right position for a surprising love story. Ali and Alyssa began as a means to an end. Will that end be happily ever after?
As soon as she saw her ex with his wife and baby it hurt so she grabbed the first man she could for a pretend boyfriend. What she did not know was that he was a sheikh. Then he needed a pretend fiancee and he will pay her. Things will get interesting as he hopes to be able to keep her as his. Follow them as they work it out

This was such a lovely feel good story, sometimes a sweet, no nonsense, without all the bells and whistles of swinging off the chandeliers sex life is just what you want😊 very sweet, a later epilogue would’ve made it perfect but still it had a lovely HEA 😊 I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a sweet read. The romance of just picking up a stranger off the street to finding that stranger is really a sheikh is just part of it all. These two have a chemistry from the beginning, I just hated it was all covered up at times. I can’t wait for more from Holly. I’m voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Wow! This is a really enjoyable read. It is a compelling, passionate read that is emotionally deep and beautiful. I was captivated from the first page. It is a fast pace, witty, funny, and exciting read. The characters are sweet and perfect for each other. Definitely recommended!
