The Infinite Tree is a collection of new poetry that is organized into four chapters: Short Poems & Haiku, Seasons & The Passage of Time, Death Tributes & Rememberances, and Philosophy & Existence. The central theme is mortality and the paradoxical cyclical nature of time. At the end of each section is a brief prose passage explaining the poet's inner thoughts, and a list of meditative questions that welcomes the reader to further explore the themes.
Sample poem:
The Great Circle
The ice gives way To changing tide Heat comes quick And in its stride We bid farewell To winter storms As sun and sweat Become the norm In time, this too Will end its course And yield all strength Unto its source For nature's circle Never ends And winds up right back To begin again
This book is an improvement from the author's previous book of poetry. This book has more poetry and more insightful explanations. My favorite poem is "Zen and the Art of Not Practicing It."
