Rancher turned gunman Clay Brentwood is in pursuit the Marlowe Brothers in western Arizona but he finds that, despite the fact that they are outlaws, they seem to have friends in high places that are determined to stop Clay and help them get away. Clay stays determined and navigates many obstacles as he follows their trail. Along the way, he picks up a mongrel dog he calls Ol' Son. It has been said that a dog is a man's best friend and Clay will need one before his encounter with the Marlowe Brothers and their friends is done!
Not enough room here. Suffice to say, besides being a writer for many years - Stringer for several newspapers, my own bi-line for articles in SAG and AFTRA mags., short story writer, screenwriter, and now two books, I'm also a blue water sailor, been a carnival barker, wrestled an ape on exhibition, rode the rails as a hobo for the experience, rodeo clown, storyteller, stand-up comic, MC, electrician, power lineman, owned several companies, circus clown, over 20 years as a prof. actor; Stage, Film and Television, along with some other stuff I can't think of right now. As my good friend, Jimmy Stewart once said, It really is a Wonderful Life.
Mr. McVay never lets his readers of good stories down. The stories are full of excitement, thrills and down-right mean, dirty bad guys. Looking forward to more of Mr. Clay Brentwood, Texas Ranger.
I have to say these books will grab you. Once I started this book I did not want to put it down. I wanted to see what was going to happen next. Was glad to see Ol’Son would make it. Look forward to more books on Clay Brentwood. Thank you Jared for a great read.
A great story exciting, involving our friend Clay Blackwood, Texas Ranger on the trail of three brothers who have gone hog wild. Killing, robbing and just doing whatever bullies enjoy doing. Well, Clay follows these three rescuing them from desert Apaches who capture and torture them. Then the three fools escape except for their brother Luke, whose mind is Sun baked just a mess. Then Clay's finds himself in San Francisco on the Barbary Coast searching for two of the Marlow Brothers who have been shanghaied and while aboard a fight occurs between the crew and the Bully Boys. Oh yes, can't forget Ol'Son a dog friend who Clay adopted while tracking the Marlow Brothers..a truly great companion as all pets are, especially dog lovers. I truly enjoy reading adventures involving Clay, I hope he finds a nice lady friend, so his loneliness will end and he can start a family he so strongly wants...I say more power to him and we all wish him good luck..
A JM. Western (CBB. - 7)/Three Bad Guys and a Chase All Over the West
Jm. has. penned a western novel about our adventurous Texas Ranger who had been assigned the job of tracking down there brothers who are alleged to be extremely smart and tricky thrown in with dangerous. The trip begins in Texas and ends in San Francisco. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
I love the way the author keeps me so focused and interested wondering what is going to happen next. Fist fighting, fast drawing six gun shooting, hard riding, raw, wild western at its best and I recommend it to anyone reading this review for I can’t help but give a five star rating.
This was a good adventure , lots of action. Ol' Son protected his human partner at every danger, because Clay kept losing his prisoners. 😂😂, and they used lies and bribes to escape the jailers.
If you are a lover of Western’s these are the best ever!! I read a lot of Western’s but these are definitely 5 star. You won’t want to put them down and I’m just sorry I have read the last one. Mr McVay you have topped them all!!
This book was a very good read. The characters and action in this book made it a definite page turner. This entire series is a definite page turner. Would highly recommend this series to everyone that enjoys a great western story.
From one rousing adventure to another, Clay pursues the evil and cunning brothers across the continent. Meanwhile, I fought the invasion of the misplaced commas.
