Landen is successful, wickedly intelligent, and handsome. And he knows it. The man is arrogance personified.
I admire his brains, almost as much as I admire his body. Too bad he's such a jerk. I've had enough of men like him and I ’ll do whatever it takes to keep my distance.
Then he kissed me...
Now, we can't keep our hands off each other and I'm discovering there is so much more to Landen Weber. I'm falling for him, hard and fast. But he hasn't told me the truth about his past, and lies by omission are still lies.
I know how this will end, and I won't let him break my heart, even if it means walking away. But Landen has something else in mind and he's not going to give up.
Born and raised in Texas, C.C. Wood writes saucy paranormal and contemporary romances featuring strong, sassy women and the men that love them. If you ever meet C.C. in person, keep in mind that many of her characters are based on people she knows, so anything you say or do is likely to end up in a book one day.
A self-professed hermit, C.C. loves to stay home, where she reads, writes, cooks, and watches TV. She can usually be found drinking coffee or wine as she spends time with her hubby, daughter, and two beagles.
I wanted to really love this book. Is an office romance, and I love those, but it just didn’t for me.
😒 Why I didn’t love:
First, I don’t know why they liked each other. I just couldn’t get it. He’s hot, she’s hot, and that’s it?
Second, it didn’t have the development that I was hoping for.
Third, they just let the whole problem that Landen had with his company unsolved. And that’s was one of the problems that the relationship had.
Fourth, where that fuck is the intense part? All of the characters said “oh Landen is intense/hard to handle” and here that fuck is that!?!? It didn’t show!! And I’m pissed about it.
And the sex scenes? They were weak, and considering that Landen himself say he liked to take control in the bedroom, he definitely didn’t, at least I couldn’t find it while reading it.
😆 What I liked:
The friendship was great and the writing was easy and fast to read, which means is that I didn’t take me long to finish it. And sometimes it was funny.
Landen is successful, wickedly intelligent, and handsome. And he knows it. The man is arrogance personified.
I admire his brains, almost as much as I admire his body. Too bad he's such a jerk. I've had enough of men like him and I ’ll do whatever it takes to keep my distance.

This was a smart, sassy, fun enemy to lovers story. I really enjoyed Chelsea and Landen's characters. They were well matched and their chemistry was off the charts.
I loved this story and I love this series.
"I voluntarily read an ARC of this book which was provided by the author."
What a great read! I haven’t read many office romance novels but this one tops the list. Unlike with CC Wood’s paranormal books, I haven read the others novels in this series and it’s a true testament to her writing that this can truly be read as a stand-alone.
I know many authors state that with some of their series but I was able to read along and fall in love with Chelsea and Landen without wondering about the other characters.
Chelsea is a funny and feisty, doesn’t hold anything back kind of woman. Her circle of friends (from the previous books in the series) are a close knit band of women with a strong support group. And when it comes to man troubles, there’s someone available to listen. They were such a great and funny group of gals.
This book cracked me up and melted my heart. The personalities were so lively I couldn’t help but giggle with Chelsea and drool over Landen. Oh, that Landen. He was so dreamy! <3
I just love CC Wood’s writing and the characters she brings to life. Her stories are always so uplifting by the time you’ve reached the end. It’s not just a happy ending you read, but a happy ending you feel. *smiley* And this book left me feeling all kinds of happy.
Yet another fab book by C.C Wood. I’m a huge fan of this author and for good reason. She never fails to write an enthralling novel! Landen is the take charge sex god, that is finally going after what he wants... he’s wants Chelsea. Chelsea has been hurt a few times before and finds it hard to trust. She’s always waiting for the man to leave. But she’s more than met her bossy match with Landen. This series is amazeballs! I’ve enjoyed every one of these stories immensely! I recommend this and any of C.C Woods books! 5*****
3.25 stars. This was a pretty good book. Chasing Chelsea is Chelsea and Landon's story. Chelsea works for a company where Landon is a client and friend of her boss. When he comes in the office, Chelsea is annoyed by his confident, playful personality. She doesn't really like him, but he does like her. Landon begins to pursue her, starting at her boss's wedding to one of Chelsea's best friends. They find they have good chemistry and Chelsea realizes she doesn't really dislike Landon like she thought. They begin to spend time together and fall for each other.
I have read and enjoyed some of Ms. Wood's paranormal books, but this is the first contemporary I have read of hers'. I liked it, but maybe not quite as much as her paranormal books. I found the writing style a little different. There is a lot of detail on every little thing the characters do and I found the book felt a bit long. I also found their speech a little non-realistic.
It took me a little while to get used to Chelsea's personality and come to like her. I think she is supposed to be feisty and sassy. She really is abrasive, which she even admits. She was rude to Landon and seemed to dislike him for no reason at first. He annoyed her, but I didn't understand why. I found her to be negative and unpleasant in the beginning. She also admitted to playing games with him. But after she began spending time with him, Chelsea mellowed out a bit. I liked Landon. He was a sweetheart who was amused by her personality and really liked her long before she ever realized it. The two of them do bicker a good bit, but it is in a playful way.
The story was interesting and entertaining. I liked that the couple got together fairly quickly and much of the book was about how their relationship progressed. Their relationship development was pretty natural. I thought they were a good match. The big conflict kind of came out of nowhere and wrapped up a little too close to the end. Still, I did enjoy Landon and Chelsea's story. I like Chelsea's friends and want to go back and read their stories too.
Overall, this was an entertaining read! I enjoyed seeing Chelsea and Landon's relationship develop and I look forward to more from Ms. Wood in the future!
My first CC Wood book and she didn't disappoint. As a matter of fact, I was completely enthralled with this fun, witty and sexy book.
And even though this is part of a series, I have not had the privilege of reading the other books, but I was not lost when reading Chasing Chelsea since the books are about different individuals in each book.
Chelsea and Landen were a definite catch. Even though she wasn't too keen on starting anything up with Landen because of his arrogant ways, and his cocky attitude, but deep down that was just his exterior persona, not who he really was internally.
Landen had to show Chelsea who Landen truly was and he's been wanting to for a while now. When he gets the opportunity to show her the real Landen, Chelsea isn't disappointed by what she sees.
I loved the banter between Chelsea and Landen, they were definitely a cute couple and seeing and feeling the chemistry between them was remarkable.

Chasing Chelsea was slightly better than the previous book in this series but I think I am done with all those "I can dish out relationship advice like nobody else but when it comes to my own, I'm less than useless" or "tell me what's happening in your life so I can build the bridge between mine and your (next) book" scenes. It was in all of them! *annoyed*
Fantastic read! Loved Chelsea and Landon and their little play bickering with one another. I loved how they would set bets with each other. This was a very cute read I really enjoyed and do recommend reading it.
Chelsea Archer has always been annoyed by the very presence of Landen Weber. The man loves to argue with her and keep her on her toes. But, the worst part may be that she can't stop thinking about him in a very... unprofessional manner. Luckily for her, she only ever has to seem him during the safety of work hours...
Landen isn't the man that Chelsea thinks he is, and he will prove it to her... but first he has to get her to agree to letting him give her the chase that she has always wanted...

This book was the fourth story in the highly entertaining NSFW series, which highlights a group of fabulous friends and their path to finding love. In this story we have Chelsea and Landen, and their bickering turned full blown relationship...
Chelsea is an intelligent woman who knows her worth and isn't afraid to ask for nothing less than she deserves. Her attraction to Landen is something she would never act on, because he is a client from her office, and secondly... he is a total jerk.
Landen has wanted Chelsea for a very long time, but the opportunity to approach her has never presented itself. When they are paired together in a wedding party, Landen isn't above using the opportunity to introduce Chelsea to what type of man he truly is behind his cocky exterior.
This book was sexy and a genuine study in the intricacies of maneuvering a relationship in the real world. Chelsea and Landen's characters were lovable and fit in perfectly with the previous couples from the series. And, while I enjoyed this book, after awhile I felt like the story kept going in the same repetitive relationship loop, which ultimately had me losing the momentum and flow present in the beginning of the story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
It's been awhile since I've read a good office romance and now I remember why I love them. This book is so much different from what I'm used to from this author but I'm no less pleased. She can really tell a story that hooks the reader right away and keeps them so engrossed in the story that they don't even realize its come to an end. I really need to go back and read the other books on the series because I'm kinda hooked.
This book was given to me at my request and I provided this review voluntarily
Absolutely adored the sass and quick-witted humor of Chasing Chelsea. CC Wood does a great job of whipping up the palpable chemistry between Chelsea and Landen, as they pushed each other’s buttons. It was a fantastic story that had me laughing, swooning and wanting to give them both a push.
I have read books by C.C. Wood before and I have really enjoyed them. I don’t read too many office-romances, but I had to give it a shot. I am so happy that I did!
Chasing Chelsea followed a woman named Chelsea who was in her late twenties. She had a good job with a boss who happened to be marrying her best friend. Chelsea was smart and I don’t think she realized just how smart she really was. She wasn’t doing so great in the relationship department. Every time she went on a date it seemed like they never wanted a second date. This girl is awesome and Landen Weber took notice.
Landen was a client of Chelsea’s boss so he frequented the office many times. He was witty, charming, and loved to pick fights with Chelsea. He was tired of Chelse not picking up the signs of him flirting so he made the first move. He kissed her and everything changed from that point on.
Chelsea was a fun character to read about because she is a badass. She doesn’t let anyone walk over her and would rather say what’s on her mind and apologize later. I wish she could have seen how awesome she is and how much she deserved to be happy from the beginning. She hasn’t been in relationships because she has a hard time trusting people and really don’t we all. She opens her heart to Landen…he’s so persistent and hard to resist…and he couldn’t help but break it with lies.
Landen has a mysterious background. He pays attention to detail, he is SEXY and he knows it, and yet he can’t help but be a jerk sometimes. I know it’s all for show. His jerkish tendencies usually come out when he is afraid to talk about his feelings.
I loved these two characters. They had so much in common but their differences made them so perfect for each other. Ultimately, they shared the same fear…having feelings for someone and not having them be reciprocated.
Chasing Chelsea brought back my love for office-romances. Excited to catch up with the previous books in this series.
Rating: I give Chasing Chelsea 4 Non-Fat Mocha with extra chocolate syrup stars because it was flirty, wistful, and an overall good office romance that will have any romance reader falling head over heels in love with the story.
Oh how I was waiting for Chelsea's story!! The NSFW series is what started my love of CC Wood books, seriously read In Love with Lucy - it's free! And fall for these crazy characters and the men that love them.
Chelsea and Landen have such a fiery chemistry, even if Chelsea doesn't want to own up to it. And even better than Landen's in Chelsea's friend's wedding and she has to be escorted by him. So of course shenanigans are going to ensue.
Definitely a good to read series that makes you laugh as you fall for the characters.
Chelsea 100% ruined this book for me. She is so full of herself.... and I reckon she’s got herself a drinking problem... but my judgey bullshit aside... I could have done without Chelsea’s self importance... dude, there’s a word for people like Chelsea... we call them “Bitch”... Landen deserved better (IMO anyway)
I absolutely love this series!! I love catching up with old characters and getting to know each of them a little better with each book!! Loved the chemistry between Landen and Chelsea!! Can't wait for Grief to find her HEA!!
This series just keeps getting better and better with each book! Characters that you connect with, characters you root for. Characters that you simply love. This is a must read!
So refreshing to read a wonderful book with a couple who doesn't mince their words and is truly honest with each other. I loved Chelsea's forthright nature and called Landon up on all his faults and he didn't let her hide behind her insecurities either.
Chelsea is a blunt, no nonsense, tell it like it is kind of girl and this aspect of her personality scared men away. She was tired of being what she calls “the aggressor” in the relationship. She wanted a man who came after her for a change. Except Landen. Sure there was a whole lot of chemistry, but she hated him. At least she thought so until an unexpected kiss changed everything. I enjoyed this book. Landen’s arrogance got him into trouble a few times and he was lucky that Chelsea didn’t strangle him. It was great to catch up with the rest of the crew and I love the introduction of a couple new characters in the mix. Great read! 4 Stars!
Chelsea is Chris' EA -- she's underused and a bit unhappy, especially when Landen - a client and BFF of Chris -- comes to visit and gives her a hard time. Their banter isn't as funny as it is weird... but he's so intense and controlling (which is a turnoff for me) that I couldn't get into him.
The drama in this is real -- he totally f's up and lies to her (by omission - but it's the same!) -- and this was really well handled.
