How does a decorated Irish Ranger end up living in America as a highly-skilled international assassin? It was what Quinn wanted, and what he thought he’d be doing for the rest of his life. Until fate thrust two innocent children into his path.Someone had put out a contract on ten-year-old Charlie McAndrew and his sister Sophie. The FBI was getting nowhere. Valuable time and resources were being squandered trying to catch Quinn for past crimes instead of worrying about a sinister organisation willing to go to any lengths to protect itself from exposure.Quinn could have walked away. Was he really willing to gamble his freedom on saving the lives of two kids he’d never met before? It was a no-brainer for the tough former Special Forces operative. He knew deep down that he was the best hope of keeping the two orphans alive. Without him, they would be dead within 48 hours. So he stayed. What followed was a dangerous and soul-searching journey that changed Quinn in a way he never thought possible.
Joe McCoubrey is a former Irish newspaper editor who is now a full-time action thriller writer. His first full-time job after leaving college was as a showroom salesman for a car-parts company. At coffee break on the first morning he walked to the nearest cafeteria, and kept on walking - he never went back! At the turn of the seventies he joined the Civil Service based at Stormont, the seat of the Northern Ireland Government, and watched behind the scenes as some of the country's most momentous events unfolded. These were the early dark days of the 'troubles' - events that reverberated around the world, and somehow served to push him towards his real passion of writing. He became a journalist, later a Newspaper Editor, and then a partner in an agency supplying copy to national newspapers and broadcasters. He switched careers to help start a Local Enterprise Agency, providing advice and support to budding entrepreneurs in his native town, and became its full-time CEO. He retired to concentrate on his long-time ambition to be a full-time writer. His previous novels have all been published to critical acclaim.
These include:
'SPENT FORCE' 'ABSENCE OF MERCY' 'ABSENCE OF RULES.' 'SOMEONE HAS TO PAY' 'DEATH BY LICENCE'
When he's not writing Joe is always available to help new authors. Over the past year he has edited and formatted more than a dozen titles for first-time writers.
Joe McCoubrey has lived all his life in the beautiful Irish town of Downpatrick, made famous by its association with the national Patron Saint, St. Patrick.
