As demi god, champion and great leader of his home islands, Nuada leads his people, the Tuatha Dé Danann, from their home after they are destroyed by violent natural events. He settles his people on the island that will eventually become the great Ireland. Now mortal he must negotiate the path of leadership in a new land where enemies wish them dead and allies lose their minds.
Born Gillian Bridé Madell in Taree, New South Wales, Australia to newspaper owners Mr David Thomas Mills Madell and Jeanette MacDonald. When she was four her family moved to the town of Mareeba, Queensland; a rural area of the north, where she grew up.
As the third child of seven, she learned to amuse with words from a very young age. Raised with the newspaper industry around her, she found herself drawn to the word; writing her own brief stories and thoughts down and sharing them with her young friends.
She ran a successful business with her husband, Barry Johns, for several years, however, at the gradual loss of her eyesight, she eventually decided to go back to her true passion of writing. She has had several articles published and her first book, “Magic and Mayhem: Tree of Knowledge” was published in 2006.
She now lives in South-East Queensland with her husband, six children and granddaughter. After a short break from the industry, she returned once more to her field of writing, she was pleased at the release of her books in the Magic and Mayhem series. “Tree of Knowledge” in January, 2010 (a re-release, re-edited of the original), followed by “The Winning Game”, "Blight in the Ocean" and "Demons and Dangers", which became the world known christian Magic and Mayhem series (MM series) in the name Gillian Duce. "Nuada," and "Sawney Bean", under the name Gillian Madell showed her more mature writing style. "Wisdom: An Insight," a Biblical philosophical book written in the name G.B.D.M. became an overnight best seller, while her children's picture books, "Pirate Sam Claus," and "Santa Lives Up The Street," show her flexibility as an author.
Having a mind for mental exploration, her philosophical poetry and such works have been published in several languages in the name of G. B. D. M. or in G. B. Duce Madell. These books and publications are works that she continually produces and is often quoted on.
Her middle reader "The Lives and Karma of Jeremiah Blum and how he met his match," was released in 1 August by Hawkwood Books, UK.
Writing as Gillian B Duce Madell, "Outer Space," was released on the 14th February, 2023 by Hard Works and Books.
Gillian still writes articles and other works under an anonymous name which she carefully guards the actual name of in order to keep her working identities separate from one another.
