Fans of Modified, Volume 1 will enjoy this second installment in the short story series, filled with super powered geeky characters, profanity, and sexy situations. Pick up your copy today and get Modified! Please note - Modified is a serialized story. Think of each volume more like an episode of a TV show than a fully contained novel. For this reason, it's only going to make sense when read in order. Reader Discretion is If you are offended by strong language, sexual situations, or short, serialized books then for the love of God don't buy this series.
Originally a Jersey girl, sunny Texas is where I now call home, in a town way up north in the panhandle called Wellington. Along with the man of my dreams, I have two children: a rambunctious little girl and a sweet but vocal little boy. Three cats, three dogs and an inordinate amount of pet hair complete my household. For fun I like to read YA, horror, and existentialist fiction, as well as watch cartoons, movies, and sometimes even cartoon movies. I try not to take anything in life too seriously and I tend to smile often.
My new favorite author strikes again. These short stories can't come fast enough for me. I love the superpowers that kate has and how she uses them. She's just learning how and that what makes these stories fun. I hope I don't have to wait long for the next in the series. Go Kat Stiles.
This series blows me away. I'm literally addicted to it. And the reasons are obvious. The story is gritty and real, and it extremely sexy yet classy. But the biggest reason is Kate, the main character. She just so easy to literally fall in love with, that proverbial, “real woman,” you meet at the club in your fantasy and you wanna take home to mother, too.
Kat Stile's writing is on point to be sure. She crafts her scenes in such a way that forces you to keep turning the pages. The stories are just too short. Add superpowers to this well-oiled literary machine and you have a grand slam. In Modified Volume 2, the last scenes are off the charts. Kate is a teleporting, telepathic vixen and intellectual intercourse with Alex toward the end is the best I’ve ever read. You guys have to check this series out.
I have often thought that if I were to try and write sexy stuff it would inevitably come out as more funny than sexy. I imagine by now this has occurred to Kat Stiles too. I said I’d be back for another quick romp with Kate, Vi and the others in Modified, part 2. The second installment is as much fun as the first and; yes, I am eagerly looking forward to part 3. Part 2 picks up exactly where we left off; Kate trying to get used to unaccustomed powers and - not for the last time - worrying about an inconvenient corpse. She still really wants some kind of sexual release; a condition Vi is more than willing to exploit. Then… well, maybe not. Check it out for yourself. Highly recommended for light reading over a drink on Saturday night.
I found the first instalment irritating, but intriguing, I’m afraid I just found this one irritating, especially Kate who just got more annoying as the story progressed.
The first book was fun but a little wild, this one was structured and paced even better, feeling even more planned. Loving the flirting between (forgot MC’s name just now) and Vi, interested to see if Steve really is a bad guy, rooting for Raj to get that nookie, and definitely interested to see how these powers evolve!
great continuation of series (received and read as part of the box set of vol 1-5) see my review of box set for a more detailed review on this series thus far.
this book was given to me for free at my request (as part of a box set) and I provided this voluntary review. *based on the audio version
The writing is okay, and is as stylized as warned, but it is too short to quality as a "book" and doesn't have a chance to tell any story before it ends.
