I admit I began reading this and worried if the pacing was too slow. It would take two years for Sabrina to get over her grief? But she returns to her hometown and begins living again, with her parent's support, her best friend's encouragement- taking things slow and at an even keel. Sure, it's alarming to run into a guy who is charismatically charming and familiar- her best friend's younger brother! Josh has grown up and is dreamy, funny, and unwittingly takes her breath away. But then there is another guy who wants her attention, which distracts a little from anything taking off with Josh right away. He has a music career taking off and he must think about that, even if chemistry is revolving around him and Sabrina. I must admit, at this point of the story, I quickly turned the pages. There was something magnetizing about these two characters dancing around each other. Her feelings were growing and she played tug of war with herself, because letting go of her past life with her deceased husband felt heartbreaking. The author certainly lures us deeper into Sabrina's dilemma. The words are descriptive and you feel you are right there, absorbing every decision. I loved the ending of this heart-felt story. It was beautiful and touched the soul. I recommended reading this with an open mind and know that it is right that it took the time to weave a beautiful love story.

Second Chance is about the grieving and brokenhearted Sabrina who tragically lost her husband. Struggling to move on, she moves back to her hometown Haven, South Carolina from the busy New York city condo she shared with her departed. Overcome with emotion, she struggles to move on but with the help of her old best friend Meredith and the sweet and overwhelmingly handsome Josh, Meredith's brother. Falling for Josh, Sabrina struggles with the guilt of trying to move on. ⠀

Second Chance is such a wholesome, feel-good read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sabrina is sassy, willful and extremely strong; I found her character to be really quite inspiring. Her commitment to pushing through the bad to get to the goodness and happy parts of life is truly special. ⠀

Sometimes life jurts

Such a true to life tale of starting over after tragedy strikes unexpectedly. Warm and uplifting, but so very true of the struggle to over come a tremendous tragedy. Sometimes that struggle is ugly and difficult but worth the effort in the end. Highly recommended for your reading list.

Romance isn't my normal genre but this book found its way on to my Kindle and it was definitely worth the read. I found it slightly predictable at the end but as my wife has said people read romances because you know they will have a happy ending before you start.

The characters are well written and the plot isn't forced.

There aren't really words to fully describe how much I enjoy this book! It's full of such emotion that I can't help but laugh and cry right alongside main character Sabrina. I want to have lunch with her sometime, and be her BFF (sorry, Meredith!) And the ending is just so touching - this is definitely one of my go-to books when I need an emotional pick-me-up!
