Hope Hill is in a fine mess. Her wayward little brother owes a lot of money to a very bad man who is in charge of a shady organization called The Flesh Factory. He will only be allowed to live if Hope pays up – with her body.
The Flesh Factory uses people as commodities. Human trafficking, sex slavery, underground porn, snuff films, you name it, every perversion under the sun is catered to.
Hope is just your average young woman, plunged into the darkest of nightmares. Once she falls foul of The Flesh Factory’s ideals, she will pay in the grimmest way possible. Her new world is one of unimaginable suffering of the flesh. A world from which there is no escape and dying is a luxury she is not allowed.
This is an extreme horror novel. It is hardcore splatterpunk and not for readers of a sensitive disposition.
Sam West is a British, extreme horror author with more than forty books to her name. If you like your fiction dark, gritty, gory, perverse and truly terrifying, then you're in the right place.
I was skeptical of this one due to the mixed reviews. It's extreme horror! There is plenty of sex and gore in this one. It did take a while to get to the gore, but once it got there it was awesome! The hallway of baskets!!! I guess you'd have to read this story to know what I mean. Being forced to be a sex slave is a touchy subject, but this was done perfectly. The ending was a bit laughable, in a good way.
This is one of those books you hear about and hear about, and I've been meaning to read it for so long now... I finally did, and wow... At first I was annoyed by the ridiculous number of typos and misused words. If she's skinny, then I suppose she looks emaciated, but in this story, "Hope couldn't help but notice how emancipated she was..." Constant mistakes like this kept drawing me out of the story, but for the most part, it was exactly as I expected--horror, gore, and erotica all mixed together...until it wasn't.
At 70% in, the stupidest, most ridiculous thing happens. At first, I thought Hope was just seeing things and that what I was reading was part of her LSD induced psychosis because Mick had been feeding her drugs. This is what I fervently hoped because the alternative was...just...so...dumb.
I was wrong.
Beyond that, everything was based on Mick and his desire to perform these satanic rituals. "It must happen at midnight, you see, it is not an old wives' tale that it is called the witching hour." Umm, except the witching hour isn't at midnight, and a simple google search would've told the author that. It was all so frustrating, making me want to scream, "What has happened to the world?" or as it is written in the book, "What has happened to the word?"
Flesh Factory: An Extreme Horror Novel by Sam West, is a good entertainment. The story is unexpected. I recommend it if you’re looking for extreme violence and extreme deviance.
“You’re going to die, Doctor, the demons are coming.” Suddenly, she jumped to her feet and began to shout. “The demons are coming! You’re going to die! You’re all going to die!”
In a matter of seconds the staff nurses burst into his office. It was with great sadness that he watched the young woman being injected.
This book is all over the place for me. Too much going on that does not mix well together.
Hope, a 29 year old woman is trying to save her brothers life after a large debt he has with the wrong people.
First off she tries prostitution....her morals won't let her go through with selling herself.
Second, she is then abducted to the Flesh Factory by the "heavy" that works for the ring leader of the Flesh Factory. She wakes up naked and must bring herself to orgasm THREE......YOU HEARD ME....THREE TIMES or she will be severely punished. Oh by the way....she will be watched by the leaders of this joint...hey no problem she is "wet" anyway. I guess being abducted turns her on.
Third, she comes face to face with the man, Rohan, she tried to prostitute herself with the night before. He works for the flesh factory as a "tormentor" but he so easily let Hope go the night her morals took over.
Fourth, Rohan has fallen IN love with Hope. She is the first woman to make him feel something he never feels.
WHAT? The tormentor fell in love after 10 minutes with Miss Morals??
I kept reading because I wanted to like this. This had to pull itself together but in the end.....
My quota of eye rolling and skimming was maxed out on this one.
Yeah I am putting this in porn genre. The plot didn't make sense to me at all. The driver has known the main character all of five minutes, but he wants to rescue her even as ghost. It got interesting when we were introduced to the weird medical experiments going on. I could have had a whole book on that alone. The ending was dumb. Two thumbs down.
More sick and twisted fun from the disturbed mind of Sam West! It's not just a series of torture scenes--at the heart of the tale is a heroine named Hope who fights for her life. But will she survive the Flesh Factory?
This ended very strange. I still do not understand what I read.
This started off very kinky. I was actually kind of into it, and then it just went crazy. Most of the extremely horrific stuff that happened in this book was almost like snapshots. It wasn't detailed, It was just going to a list of horrific things. Strange to say, but this book had a strong potential at the beginning to be something a bit different, but I kind of fall flat at the end. I don't regret reading it
A girl is taken as collateral for her brothers gambling addiction, being taken to the flesh factory she is in the process of becoming the perfect sex slave for the boss.
This was a good read that was super engaging. I loved the scene with the room full of doors. Definitely a good read.
Since I'm still in the middle of a reading slump, I have a hard time choosing a book from my TBR. This time I let a random number generator help me.... maybe it was not the best idea. 😅
I don't even remember why or when I added this book to my TBR.
Flesh factory is for the fans of hardcore horror. It's a mix of gore, horror and erotica.
It was a short book. Was a bit all over the place for me. I don't really want to go into the details, because I don't wanna be the cause of nightmares.🤣
The latest offering from Sam West is slightly different to his previous stories and very different to what the reader may be expecting. I anticipated yet another Hostel rip-off, which the horror fiction world is currently saturated with and instead was presented with an onion of a story which kept evolving into something completely different to what it started off as. It still has the classic West elements of copious amounts of bloodshed and stomach-churning gory descriptions as well as graphically sordid, inelegant sexual activity. All topped off with a stunning plot twist and a climactic ending.
Sex without an emotional connection makes us no better than animals. It makes us dangerous, viscous, soulless. But if you love someone, sex is transcendental. It will make you a better person. Love will save you Rohan and I hope that one day you find it.”
A horrific nightmare is taking formation in the life of Hope Hill, a young woman nearing thirty who’s seen some of the worst things imaginable in her short life. Tasked with easing her younger brohEd, Ben, from when he was nine and she was twenty, she couldn’t save her parents who died horribly a decade prior. As her brother began slipping through the cracks, he turned his pain into an obsession with gambling, turning thousands of dollars into a debt he no sooner could pay. Lost without a chance of repaying the brutal man who held the rope to his thirst, it was Hope who tried her hand at prostitution to aid in her brother’s survival. Yet turning tricks wasn’t something she could allow herself to do, as she turned down the first John to call to her from the shadows. Rohan Sanders was blessed with boyish good looks and charismatic charm that could lure just about any woman to her knees for him. Yet with his line of employment at the Flesh Factory, he was assigned capturing woman for the House, where their trainings began and they could be sold off to the highest of bidders. With the sickest of fantasies being catered to..... beastiality, S&M, Ritualistic Torture ....... no matter the clientele, there were always girls to please and die for. After stumbling home from her run in with Rohan, she is horrified to discover a brute of a man in her hone, and even sickened to see her brother tied and raped to the floor. With his survival only in her hands, she agrees to come To the Flesh Factory to pay his debts, but it’ll come with a horrific price tag.
Mine, to do what I want with. No. Mine to set free.
Upon her first steps into the s Flesh Factory, her shyness was whisked away as with her clothing, as she was forced to self pleasure herself with the eyes of a crowd leering at her naked flesh. A natural born submissive, she caught the eyes of the show runner, Mick, who took to her beauty and claimed her as his own. With a deal to be crafted allowing her freedoms after a year of his services, she agreed, even with the horrors she knew awaited her. A sex slave in training, she was kept to the prime of her health, where Rohan watched and tried to set her free. Upon discovering the treason of his employee, Mick drugged the young girl on LSD, and when the demons in the shadows became too much she snapped and stabbed Rohan to death. Haunted by his ghost and the love he swore to adorn her with, she witnessed the slaughter of TV oh sands before turning a gun on Mick himself. With the ghost of Rohan guiding her, she slipped from the Flesh Factory, her life never to be the same. Her brother executed in front of her, she felt nobody was left for her in this world, even as the demons continued to dance in front of her eyes. As she began screaming for mercy from the spirits surrounding her, nobody could believe the true monsters unleashed that night of slaughter.
When she peeped at him through splayed fingers, he had the face of the devil, complete with horns. His face was red, his eyes a glittering, reptilian yellow. He blinked, but he blinked with sideways eyelids, like a lizard.
“Come on,” he said, reaching for her hand. “I’ll be as gentle as possible…”
He’s the devil oh yes the devil the king of the shadows on the wall… No! It’s the drugs yes the drugs the LSD... Stop!
Once the doors of perception have been opened in the mind, they can never be closed again…
I guess I am sheltered from this type of life, but realize there are things like this that do go on in real life. Mind blowing that these type fetishes actually exists in the world. To each his own, I guess... book good...contents out there.
Oh, this was such a good read. I absolutely loved the beginning 'dear reader' part. People have a hard time understanding they are reading fiction and that it's not real! And may not even be who the author is in real life. Loved the story! Another great one from Sam.
I don’t think I took a proper breath throughout this book until the very last page! Wow…it’s crazy to think things like this do happen which what makes this story so engrossing!
Absolute insanity, but absolutely terrifyingly enthralling at the same time!
Think of the worst acts of depravity a person can inflict another. Now times that by ten and dig down deep for you haven’t hit the disturbing debauchery you will read in Sam West’s Flesh Factory—I loved it! In this sick and twist tale, you will find the darkest part of humanity staring back at you as a well-funded Satanist has created his demented version of a way to get the Devil to come and offer him a place by his side. The Flesh Factory is more than just a place that is meant to turn unexpected women into sex slaves; it has much deeper, revolting, and morbid secrets within its wall. Michael Cooper, or Mick as his employees call him, holds a pack with the Devil, or at least he believes, that will shock them all. The problem is he has fallen in love with a beautiful woman who is not one of the usual street walkers his goons collect and bring to the factor for rehabilitation to be sold—she pure, or was. Mick has every intention to break her and make her his own but his ‘breaker,’ Rohan Sanders, has fallen in love with and will shatter Mick’s plans. This book is on the will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is filled with the most unspeakable acts your nightmare hasn’t even considered and will have your skin crawling. Fantastic imagery brings this nightmare to life. Hold on to your socks, take a deep breath, and then drive into an extreme horror of depravity and insanity at its finest.
Though I have enjoyed other works by Sam West, this one I did not. Too short, some of the factors didn't meet up & what started out as a great fetish sex trafficking gig became a drug induced trip & then there was the mention of demons & packs with the devil?! Too many weird ideas thrown into the mix I think. "Pleasures of the flesh" is too reminiscent of Clive Barker's character, Pinhead who also quoted, "I have such sights to show you". So this particular story was a fail for me.
This book deserves a higher rating! It's shocking, yes, it's horrific, yes, and it's absolutely absurd, yes. But what else would you expect going into it? It deserves 5 stars for not being afraid to shock people. It's what you bargained for, an extreme horror novel with plenty of shocking moments. One in particular which made me feel terrified. (for those of you who have read it, the baskets. Yes, I'm talking about the bloody baskets!)
Hope is needing to go to extreme measures to save her brother's life, after he gets into huge debts with bad people. In exchange for wiping his debt, they tell her she needs to spend a year at the flesh factory. But the flesh factory is worse than anything she could have ever imagined...
I think this is my first one of Sam's, and honestly it was better than I expected. It came together well, with a surprise little twist at the end which I didn't expect! Good read!
Wow what a trippy book. If you like twisted and lots of destruction this book is for you. Just when you think you figured out what's happening with Hope something else happens.
This book was very nicely done. Very twisted! I expected the depravity to be completely different. I expected it to turn out in a different manner. I was surprised by the ending and the goal of the flesh factory’s leader. Overall, a fun, gross, gruesome, grotesque, and crazy ride!
This story really grabs you, has you itching to see what happens next and there are so many twists that catch you off guard. As usual Sam West books leave you wishing for more but a great read and highly recommended 👍
Disturbingly-fantastic and shockingly-twisted! Demented and horrifying! Intense and riveting! Suspenseful and addictive! Dark and complex! A jaw-dropping, psychological thriller at its best!
