So far, I have mixed feelings about this book.

On one hand, there is a lot of good information about food allergies that I know to be accurate, based on previous research and experience with food allergies.

On the other hand, the entire book is a big sales brochure for the author's BioSET(tm) <--- don't forget the TM, it's after EVERY mention of "BioSET" in the whole book- which, frankly, gets annoying.

The author is a chiropractor... ok... I'm willing to suspend my reservations about chiropractic... but then it gets a little woo-woo, with the theories about how the foods' energy fields get in the way of the patients' energy fields... which... um, ok, maybe I'll even try to go along with that... but then she starts talking about how many patients are even "allergic" to their own blood and internal organs... and... yeah, I'm out. My suspension of disbelief can only go so far.

And I HATE it when pseudo-scientific books mention "research suggests" or "clinical studies [of the BioSET program]" but then do not reference said research or "clinical studies" (which I suspect is actually "a few of the patients I treated in my office v. some allergy sufferers in the general population who have not made any lifestyle changes")

Although the whole book is pretty much a marketing tool to get BioSET(tm) therapy- she DOES actually describe how to do it at home, either with a partner or by yourself. Basically it involves "applied kinesiology" (muscle testing) along with acupressure points. It doesn't seem dangerous in any way (i.e. can't hurt), and although my BRAIN says "this is a load of hooey", my body is desperate enough to try anything. I'm willing to TRY it, although I don't have high expectations.

I WANT TO EAT FOOD! I'll try anything.

The author mentions that her acupressure points are based on NAET (acupuncture for allergies). Anecdotally, I've heard positive things about NAET. Anyone have any direct experience with NAET? I actually think I'm going to try acupuncture for allergies & fatigue.

Has anyone else read this particular book, and/or tried the methods described in it?

p.s. for MCS friends, the author also says this works for chemical and environmental sensitivities as well.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an alternative way to deal with their allergies, altogether.

Being someone that has been struggling with digestive issues, this book gave me a fresh perspective on what the underlying issue could be. I found the content incredibly valuable, which might help me achieve my goal of optimal health. I recommend this book for anyone that has digestion problems, food sensitivities, or allergies, but those are just my particular interests. I hope this book brings you value too, and may health be found along the way.

The Food Allergy Cure: A New Solution to Food Cravings, Obesity, Depression, Headaches, Arthritis and Fatigue by Ellen W. Cutler. In this book the Author tries to get across that even though you may not actually have a food allergy that there are a lot of us who have food intolerance to different foods. She also explains how you can do your own at home testing to find out what foods you may have allergies or intolerance with and some solutions to deal with them.

I was given this book when I went back to Ellen Cutler's office in Mill Valley to restock on enzymes. Have not read it yet, but will.
