Jade, a highly trained former soldier, knows that she's not girlfriend material. The dark secret she keeps hidden reminds her of that fact every day. But, when a regular patrol brings a tall, leggy blonde her way, this bear shifter will have to find a way to break down her walls.
Waitress Emma has worked hard all her life to take care of her alcoholic mother and carve out some semblance of a life. But an encounter with her mother's latest beau leads to Emma witnessing a murder. One where the killer turns into a panther.
Overwhelmed and now the sole witness, Emma takes off on the run. She ends up in Falhurst and runs straight into the Jade. The beautiful green-eyed woman intrigues Emma, and the sadness she carries around calls to the fixer within her.
But there won't be much time for fixing. Because the murderer that's chasing after Emma is more than your average rogue shifter, and the power he wields will soon prove that...
Chloe Peterson is the author of heartfelt lesbian fiction. She loves writing stories that celebrate the diversity of the LGBT community. Chloe relaxes by watching home building shows and reading fan fiction.
These are just casual reads, for shifter romances. There's nothing massively in-depth about the lore or the overall stories. The characters are interesting and unique enough, but the romance and such is often a bit insta.
I do enjoy them, for the fast-paced, mostly feel good reads they are, with no real angst.
This a tad better for me because i am acquainted with the characters but the writing style is still somewhat no fluff kind. This story evolves round Jade her past and her present situation in finding someone close but one she denies herself for fear of her past.
Wounded Bear is a good adventure story, but it needs additional proofreading and editing.
Peterson's second Whiteheart Clan novella follows the same pattern as the first book. A small group of lesbian shifters stumble upon a woman being targeted by a gang of powerful shifters. The new woman finds a love interest within the Whiteheart Clan and a plan is hatched to foil the bad guys.
Green-eyed Jade is the Wounded Bear and Emma Parker assumes the role of the distressed damsel. The very human Emma tries to save her mother from her latest sleazeball boyfriend by catching him in the criminal act. She sees much more than the drug deal that she anticipated and gets caught as she witnessed it. Running for her life, her junker car breaks down where Jade and Rowan happen to be patrolling for their security company.
The plot doesn't thicken as much as it unfolds. Place and character names are spelled inconsistently. Editing mistakes should have been corrected. The Whiteheart Clan series has potential and a diverse array of shifters. The good guys use their intelligence, morality and complimentary skills to gain an advantage against overwhelming odds. This story could have much better than just 2.5 stars. The next book in the series is called Changed Wolf.
This being the second book in the Whiteheart Clan.ta. Another good read and story. This time about a human called Emma who witnesses a murder by her mother's boyfriend and he she's her and him and his lady's chase her but she managed to escape them. Now the story begins and she meet the Whiteheart Clan .This about an interesting story but a little short well worth a read though. The author Chloe Peterson. did a good job writing this.
Perfect read when you want some peaceful alone time.
It's a mellow read and I enjoyed every minute of Emma and Jade meeting and liking each other as soon as they met. Jade is a very important part of the Whiteheart Clan but with a severe case of broken heart and guilt. This one is the second book of the series and it just gets better and better.
Chloe Peterson has a great sense of ebook readers attention span. I have read a lot of shifter literature and I promise this series is great fun. Chloe doesn’t require a major time commitment but works to insure you enjoy the story and leaves you wanting more. So far it is a 3 book series and I recommend each one.
I love it how jade and Emma like each other from the moment they meet each other and how jade was struggling on with her past but she open up too Emma and tell her about it and Emma didn't judge her she told her she care about her.
Just as the rest of the series, 5🌟's all the way. Enjoyable novel with magic, trauma, rollercoaster emotions and intense Love 😍. Don't miss out if you have not started yet.
Ms. Patterson continues to hit them out of the ballpark. Wounded Bear is a fnished shifter story with plenty of romance, fun , adventure, and dealing with an important issue of ptsd.
