From the armpit of Hell to Lucifer-only-knows-where, West Virginia (Sue me! I lost the directions.) at the speed of light with my new bestie, Bert the imp and my hooker alter-ego, Lola without a plan or a clue. Yeah, that's the way we roll.

Ten days is all I have before the love of my life marries the Princess of Hell and my dreams for a smokingly hot happily-ever-after goes up in flames. It's DEF CON 666 and this girl is outta time and outta choices.

One of these Witches better have a plan to turn this Not-Quite Hellhound into a four-legged, butt-sniffing daughter of Cerberus or Satan himself is gonna make an appearance and we're all gonna be flambéed.

Time is running out, my fur coat is nowhere to be found, and all I can think about is jumping that Hunky Hellhound's bones…. Hades help us, who does a girl have to kill to get a quad shot, no foam, caramel macchiato in this one-horse town?

Hang on! Devilish Dips and Eye-Popping Mayhem coming up!

Mom of two rockin' girls, Reader of everything, Author of The Dragon Guards series and many more surprises to come!

I am a sarcastic, sometimes foul-mouthed, not afraid to drink a beer, always southern woman with 2 of the most amazing teenage daughters,
a menagerie of animals and a voracious appetite for reading who recently decided to write the storied running through her brain. I read my first book, Dr Suess' Cat in The Hat by myself at 4 and was hooked.
I believe a good book along with shoes, makeup and purses will never let a girl down and that all heroes of all the books
I have ever read or will ever write pale in comparison to my daddy! I am a sucker for a happy ending and love some hot sweaty sex with a healthy dose of romance.
I am still working on my story but believe it will contain all of the above with as much SPICE as I can work into it. CHEERS!

REVIEW

Let me start by saying I have loved all the books in this Not Quite series and Heidi well she blows the rest right out of Hell? LOL.

Heidi has the mother from hell if you know what I mean and well after a really bad accident Heidi wakes up not quite on earth anymore.

Heidi then meets none other than Lucifer’s daughter who wants to be her best friend. Heidi though sets her sights on Luci's man. Hunter is everything a woman or in this case a hellhound could want and more. Just one problem. They got to go to West Virginia for the help they need.

This book is hilarious we get an imp, witches, demons, hellhounds and Hades himself.

I would recommend it if you want a funny short sexy read. This author gives us such a wide variety of paranormal and I love everything she has written thus far.

Terrific sassy character that you will love

Wonderful characters especially Heidi! Foul mouthed, obstinate and full of confidence. Being sent to Hell due to a contract made by her mother she meets her soulmate. Too bad that he is marrying someone else unless she can change that. Terrific fun filled dialogue in a fast paced read that will have you routing for her.

This was first released on my blog " Lecture toute une Aventure"
Strange, it's my first attempt in Kindle worlds as those are not accessible outside the USA and i wasn't expecting this at all however when i've read this i needed something light, something funny and this story really fit those criteria.

You are expected to take this lightly , second degre but if you do it could mean a great time. Heidi find herself in Hell...won't tell you why ( novella so better be short to avoid spoiler) and it's different that what you may think. While she is learning how to be an effective agent^^ she encounters crazy witches, enamoured imp, and a lot of other curious or funny characters.

However it's not an easy road when she find herself in love with a real hellhound who by the way is promised to the big boss 's daughter Lucy...all that with a second personality Lola in her head speaking bluntly and not the best advisor in the universe. While Heidi try to set everything right, fate doesn't plan to make it smooth for her.

Humour, action , blunt language..;this short story is perhaps not to everyone taste but i spent a good time.

Series: The 'Not-Quite' Love Story Series
Collection: Robyn Peterman's Magic and Mayhem Kindle World Collection
Designation: Book Five of The 'Not-Quite' Love Story Series, Standalone Novella, No Cliffhanger

My Rating: Five Fabulously Funny Stars*****
Oh my goodness! Julia Mills has sent me into a side-splitting, full-blown fit of giggles - again with Heidi: A 'Not-Quite' Hellhound Love Story, the fifth release in her new fabulously funny 'Not-Quite' Love Story Series. And if you're a Robyn Peterman fan, Heidi is keeping company with 14 other very gifted authors in Peterman's new Magic and Mayhem Kindle Worlds Collection. I'm completely smitten! These are just the cutest little stories - ever! I adore Robyn Peterman and it's no secret that I'm a diehard Julia Mills fan but seriously, this fast-paced, laugh-out-loud-funny, supernatural romantic comedy series is absolutely extraordinary. I love it! Heidi has everything you need to make a great read! Like what, you ask? Well, it has some knee-knocking danger, a whole lot of diva drama , boat-loads of snark, sass and humor, a generous helping of dreamy romance and of course, an adorably sweet happy-ever-after ending. (Don't even try to convince me that Heidi and her hookerish alter-ego Lola are not both drama queens and yes, I totally made that word up) Oh, and did I mention humor and romance? Okay, I know I mentioned it but I just wanted to emphasize both because you'll laugh so hard, people will think you're crazy, then you'll start wheezing until your sides hurt. So just a friendly warning, folks, it's best not to read this one in the public. I think my baby-dog Christina thought her mommie was having some sort of seizure! lol... It's one of the most unique, imaginative and hilarious stories I've ever read. It's also well-crafted, well-written and well-edited with a beautifully written first-person narrative with a perspective from none other than the smart, sassy, ever fashionable in black leather former lawyer and currently shiftless 'not-quite' hellhound Heidi Burn. I fell head over heels for all the characters in this story. They were captivating, engaging, endearing and will not only keep you in stitches but will also steal your heart. I even loved the bad guys! Who would have guessed that Lucifer would have been such a hot hunk?!? Well, maybe the hot part. If you love hot, rocking sexy and hysterical paranormal romance, then this book is definitely for you!

Heidi Burn is having one helluva bad year! Not only does her mother announce on Heidi's twenty-ninth birthday that she is now a servant of the Dark Lord Lucifer, but she's also bartered Heidi's mortal soul in exchange for dark magical powers. Geez! I guess you could call her a real witch of a mother...literally! Then, on her way to court, Heidi is mowed down by a bus when the heel of her Jimmy Choos gets caught in a crack on the sidewalk and she falls directly into its path. Oh no! Oh, did I forget to mention that Heidi is a hotshot attorney...make that, WAS a hotshot attorney. And now, the newly dearly departed Heidi has become a brand new resident of Hell...and is a Hellhound with her very own torture dungeon! What??? Unfortunately, there are a few little problems. One, she can't shift into a hellhound. Who the heck has ever heard of human hellhound and especially one who can't shift? And two, wouldn't ya just know the hunky seven-foot tall gorgeous hellhound with whom she has just met and is instantly smitten, is none other than the fiance of the princess of hell! Yup, she has the hots for Hunter, the man engaged to Lucifer's daughter, Luci. But the plot thickens! As it turns out, Hunter is also completely smitten with Heidi... because she's his one true mate! Oh my! But wait...there's a whole heck of a lot more to the story! It seems our black, leather-clad dominatrix fashionista Heidi is also 'The One'...a harbinger and integral part of a long believed prophecy believed by the Hellians. They think Heidi is 'The One' who will ultimately be responsible for dethroning Lucifer, the King of Hell himself. And make no mistake, Lucifer has no intention of being dethroned which in layman's terms means Heidi is in big trouble and may wind up dead a second time but this time, as nothing more than a steaming pile of....ashes. (I bet you thought I was gonna say something else, didn't ya?) What's a girl gotta do to claim her man and hopefully not be killed by Lucifer or Luci in the process? Well first, she has to somehow stop Hunter and Luci's wedding which is only 16 days away. According to Hunter, all is well since his Aunt Matilda has the answer. But wait...there's even more! Imagine Heidi's surprise when she discovers she only has 13 days, not 16, to escape Hell, find a way to travel topside to get to Hunter's other aunt, Beatrix in West Virginia, find a way for Beatrix to restore her missing magic that allows her to shift, quickly learn how to shift into a hellhound, sneak back into Hell, challenge the Devil's one and only daughter to a dual and miraculously, somehow, beat daddy's dearest little girl...without getting killed...all the while trying to stay out of Lucifer's fur-lined handcuffs and heart-shape bed! Yikes! Easy Peasy, right? What could go wrong? Don't ask...a whole lot! Join Heidi, a white witch named Cassie and an imp called Bert (who just happens to be in love with Luci) on one heck of a wild road trip to find dark witch Beatrix aka Trixie in West Virginia. But the million dollar question, will Heidi and her hooker alter-ego Lola along with her merry companions be able to complete 'mission impawsible' before it's too late? (impawsible...hellhounds have paws...get it? lol... I know, it's a terrible pun.) Anyway, we'll see!

Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am! Will I read this author again? Absolutely! I can hardly wait to see what Mills has in store for us next! And finally, was I entertained? Totally and compeltely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

I LOVED LOVED Heidi! She was hilarious! Hunter...yum I love that hunky hell-hound! He's sexy and funny...did I mention hunky? Heidi had her soul sold by her mother no less to hell which she isn't happy about but hey...what can she do? She's dealing with her new life...errr afterlife in hell. She meets the Princess of Hell Luci and her fiance, Hunter but sparks fly and lo and behold Hunter stakes his claim and did I mention he's hot? Heidi will sorta do what she's gotta do to get her man. There is a bit of a twist....Luci and Hunter have a contract to marry but Luci is in love with an Imp Bert who is kinda beyond cute for an imp. They race against time to change their future and there are lots of twists and turns and although this book is slightly longer than her NOT QUITE series it is delightful and a must read!

Hell will never be the same!!

Heidi is a bad-ass, sarcastic attorney who has a mother no one would want. On her birthday she finds out that her mother sold her sole to the devil. When she dies suddenly she finds herself at the gates of Hell and becomes BFF's with Lucifer's daughter, Luci, to survive.
Hunter is to marry Luci in three weeks time, not knowing why it was arranged when they didn't love one another. When Hunter sees Heidi he knows she is his mate and possibly the answer to a prophecy
he really didn't believe was real.
This book is a fast read filled with a take no shit heroine who is sassy, strong, determined and funny.
I highly recommend this book, you will have a whole, new image of Hell.

Heidi was a successful lawyer until her mother (a witch into the black arts) bartered Heidi's soul to Lucifer. Heidi has died and is now in Hell and she a Not Quite Hellhound who becomes best friends with the Crown Princess Luci (Lucifer's daughter). Heidi is introduced to Hunter, a gorgeous Hellhound who also happens to be Luci's fiancé, until he tells Heidi she is HIS MATE! Interesting since he's to marry Luci. So who gets who? Oh the goings on in Hell!!

I loved this book, the main characters as well as the witches & imps. The shenanigans will have you laughing. Just love Julia's snarky humor too. If you have read Julia's others Not Quite books, you'll love this one too!!

Heidi is an awesome character. She had me laughing out loud a lot throughout the story. Heidi is so full of snark and sass and I just couldn't put the book down.

The story-line was phenomenal. I was glued from beginning to end with every twist and turn of the page. It was so incredible that it kept me entertained and I highly recommend it.

When a book is filled with such amazing characters, sometimes you just can’t help but latch onto even the supporting characters. Heidi and Hunter have that animal magnetism we all crave to have infused into our lives! The journey this author takes you on to overcome Heidi’s obstacles had me laughing till my tummy hurt. Heidi’s resolution actually seemed almost too simple but nevertheless I truly appreciate the HEA. Another great comical PNR! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.

A different direction for this author that showcases how amazingly her mind works.
An extremely witty, very cleverly written, tongue in cheek book.
I have to say I have read a couple of the others in this series through box sets and though I enjoyed them I didn’t love them.
This one was very enjoyable and the plot was a great ride along story making this my favourite so far. Will be reading the rest.
This is my honest review of this book.

Heidi has been screwed over by her mother for the last time and this time it landed her in hell literally. Will Heidi be able to find a way to keep the love of her life from marrying someone else? Will Heidi get her Happy Ever After in Hell?

This book was hilarious. Have to admit that I have read most of this authors Dragon Guard books and not many of her others, but I loved this one! I loved Heidi's snark and her determination to do what it took to keep the man of her dreams. Great read!

I laughed so much reading Heidi's story. Her & Lola's antics kept me rolling in laughter. Hellhounds, demons, witches & Lucifer himself kept me in happy tears. Hunter & Heidi are a match made in hell (well where else would hellhounds be?). The heat between the two is steamy. This book was a fun & fast read.

This is a fast and hilarious read about Heidi, a sucessful lawyer until she learns her soul has been bartered to Lucifer by none other than her own mother, a witch of the dark arts... so Heidi dies while crossing the street and wakes up in Hell... and it's wicked funny to watch this twisted adventure take place. Lucifer's daughter Luci, the Crown Princess of Hell becomes Heidi's BFF... Lucifer has arranged for Luci to wed Hunter who is a Hellhound, but when Hunter and Heidi meet the draw is so freaking powerful, so simply undeniable. They are true mates... and Hunter claims his mate in the most incredably decedent and sinfully delicious way......what about Luci? Just so happens, Luci is in love with an imp named Bert.... Yep, this is quite a mess.. but wait! There could be a way, if the legend is right, the future could be changed...Heidi has to be the one to bust out of Hell, find the witch that can channel Heidi's inner HellHoud and then break back in... but it's a race against time. Can she do it before the wedding day? And more inportantly, can she do it without Lucifer finding out?

This is so fun, humorous, and awesome!!! Loved it! The story is interesting, entertaining, and there's sexy times too! I love that it takes place in Hell, and I loved all the characters. The main character, Heidi, is snarky, sassy, and quirky, and I loved that she is resilient and makes the best out of a screwed up situation. Heidi's mom sold Heidi's soul to the Devil, so now Heidi currently resides in Hell, where she meets Hunter; a hellhound shifter, who she immediately wants to climb like a tree, but unfortunately, he is engaged to the Devil's daughter, Luci, so Heidi isn't too pleased. Hunter also wants Heidi, and wants out of the engagement to Luci because it was arranged by Luci's father and Hunter's father, so there isn't any love between Luci and Hunter. Luckily for Heidi and Hunter, there may be a way for them to be together, but Heidi needs to go on a mission to make it happen. There are some very hot scenes between Hunter and Heidi, and they are so cute together! This is a quick read with lots of funny stuff! So, definitely read it! Looking forward to more by Julia Mills!

Be prepared to laugh and have a great time while reading this book. While it can be confusing at first you will quickly pick up the snarky innuendoes , comments and have a good time. Each character is original and unique bringing their own special touch to the storyline. Finding your true love in Hell of all places is not a common theme however the struggles to reach and keep that true love were definitely trying and torturous. . Lots of drama, action and silly antics keep you turning the pages to find out if Heidi gets her man ( or hellhound in this case). While part of a larger "kindle worlds series" it can be read as stand alone, but be warned you are going to want to pick up the rest as soon as you finish.

Omg lol I freaking loved it!!!!

This is Hedi and Hunter's story lol let me tell you what a story. Hedi is a cut throat attorney that is until her mom sells her soul to Satan. When Hedi dies at the hands of a bus well she is hell's new hellhounds. When she meets Hunter she's automatically smitten by him. Just one problem he's engaged to be married. Oh not just any gal but the freaking princess of hell herself. "OY" Hedi's undead life can't get no worse right. Wrong lol Hedi will have to go top side to get her power back another thing her mother stole from her. Poor Hedi she just can't catch a break or break the someone's neck. Omg this was such a great adventure. I absolutely loved this book. I love the characters and truly hope we see more of them soon.

This story was hysterical and fun to read as Heidi finds her mate in Hell but he is engaged to Satan's only daughter. You can't stop reading as you want to know how Heidi handles all this bizarre situations she finds herself in the middle of. Loved this book.

OMG! Too funny! I chuckled and laughed through the whole story. Luci, Bert, Hunter and, of course, Heidi make for a very interesting group. Throw in Hunter's aunts and you have all the chaotic fun Hell can handle.

Heidi's tale is the first"not quite" story I've read, but if this is what they are like, I'm going to have to check out the rest.

What a crazy mix of characters and situations. I loved it! Heidi is a non-shifting Hellhound who falls in love with Hunter, another Hellhound....only problem is, he's engaged to Luci, who happens to be Lucifer's daughter. Hilarity ensues as they try to find a way out of Hunter's engagement.
