Meet Jeremy Heston. Before he changed history, he was nothing but a little boy with a simple life. He never showed a sign of the horror that would one day come.
When tragedy strikes the Heston family, Jeremy's parents have no choice but to admit Jeremy into intensive psychiatric care. Will the therapy help? Or will it give birth to the monster that will lie dormant within for the following 20 years?
Also included: the first chapter of the first full-length Jeremy Heston novel, INSANITY.

This book is a prequel to the Insanity series. The book starts with Jeremy Heston as a child and ends with him as a grownup.
The story begins with how Jeremy started his life and how he became the unheroic, unhinged, ultimate loser that he is in Insanity.
This story is good for those of you who have never seen a man who has been so unhinged so completely. But the truth is that he is a very real man who has been able to overcome his fears, and challenges them.
I've read the Insanity series and must say I liked the little insight into his childhood. Was a very good read and left me with 1 question.....did this trigger his insanity.....if he is even insane
A tragedy has upended Jeremy's life. His parents can only think of one thing to help their son get over the loss. This prequel is intense and makes you think about what you would do if you faced the circumstances the Heston family does. Although this is just an intro into the novel that lays ahead it is worth the read.
Epic reread February 2024. I'd probably rate this slightly higher - like a 4.25 🌟 read rounded ⬇️ to 4 🌟.
I've suffered with severe depression and mood disorders for most of my 53 years, and in theory, I'd love to have a solution to "erase" that part of my brain, but tbh this left me feeling very unsettled and with a feeling that this was so very wrong.
A good example of the genre. It's akin to driving by the scene of an accident. You don't want to look, because of what you might see, but you keep looking anyway.
This was a great start to a story. I really wanted to read more. It reminded me of why I don’t like short stores. They leave me wanting to know more ad the story ends.
Finally! Finally answers to most of my questions. Erased is the prequel to Andre Gonzalez’s Insanity Series. Now I understand why Jeremy did what he did. What a fascinating background and insight into mental illness. Mr. Gonzalez must have done quite a bit of research into the world of psychology to be able to go into such depth as to what made Jeremy “tick”. I am so glad he did this. I thoroughly enjoyed all the books in the series, but they left me curious as to what made Jeremy do all the horrible things he did and how his brain worked. Why did he think the way he did? I truly believe that everything we do as an adult stems from something in our life as a child. I hope Mr. Gonzelez comes up with another series as gripping as the Insanity one.
‘Erased’, simple word meaning to remove, as a book title, it held an intriguing interest for me to find out ‘what’. I found a story that was far from simple. An accident left a happy family with loss and despair. Page turning reading began with the shocking treatment for the 8 year old brother to cope with the loss of his little sister and ended with the treatment worked. The story was far from over, it was the prequel to Andre Gonzales ‘Insanity’ series. The first chapter of Book 1, ‘Insanity’ is included and I’m even more shocked and intrigued with the brother, Jeremy’s story. ‘Erased’ is a short, great goodread that will leave you wanting more. Definitely the 3 book series is next for me.
I received a free copy through Voracious Readers Only for a honest review.
This is the first story I have read by Gonzalez and I enjoyed the novella. You have the ability to pull people into the world of grief and the lengths some might go to make it go away. You also show what some will also do to exploit people in pain for their own personal gains. You are not told the doctors true intentions but in your heart you know there is more to this story. The concept of the story is very realistic and makes you think "would I go to the same lengths to deal with a tragedy?" I give this novella 5 stars for the real life concept and can't wait to read the next book to see how Jeremy's life unfolds.
This short prequel to the Insanity series is shocking and incredibly sad. It also makes you both understand and sympathise with Jeremy - the protagonist in the series - more, and wonder if he would genuinely have been found mentally ill if this had been discovered in book 2. Anyway, a sensitively written but excellent prequel to the Insanity series, and one that all lovers of the series should definitely read. NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions
"I love you, too, Mommy." Erased is billed as a prequel to the Insanity series but is definitely best read at the end. It tells of the sad death of Jeremy's little sister when he was just eight and how his deep sadness over it is resolved. It is a sensitive peek into a little boy's head yet horrific in the implications. There are several reasons why this could not have occured, but a clever idea nevertheless and in part illuminates the Jeremy of the following series. Very short, unfortunately, and quick to read, it is a disturbing story worth considering.
This short story prequel gave me even more insight into the mind of Jeremy Heston. It made me wonder if the events in this short story had a direct impact on Jeremy's "experiment" in Insanity, the first book in the trilogy. I really enjoyed this short story and look forward to reading Replicate the conclusion to the Insanity Series.
A loving big brother sees the most horrific accident involving his little sister. The memories destroy the young child to the point that his parents seeks professional help. Of course, a loving parent would do almost anything to help their child. But...
I received a free copy of this ebook, but I review because this is one delicious set up for the series!
Death in the family takes its toll on 8 year old Jeremy. Especially since he witnessed the death of his 6 year old sister. His life takes a turn for the worst and his parents find someone who could possibly turn it all around for him, but at what cost?
A prequel to a set of books which really intrigues me so will be checking them out. Writing style is spot on.
He was just a small boy but there is a monster inside him. Follow his tale as his parents get him out in a psych unit. Fun is shows how it all starts I received an advanced copy and I enjoyed it so much that I want to review
This prequel grabbed my attention right away and didn't let go. I'm still pondering what this could lead to next. I definitely want to read the next book to find out. I recommend this to anyone that enjoys a mystery served with a side of horror.
This novella provided a little more insight into Jeremy's early life, but added more unanswered questions. A little creepy and somewhat twisted what this doctor did in terms of "helping" Jeremy. Overall, a kid story and great writing!
I read to be moved. This story did exactly that. Even in tears, I couldn't put the story down. With a breaking heart I walked through this story with Jeremy. I look forward to continuing the ride during insanity. Thank you for moving me.
I got this book sent to my email for free. After reading it I am definatley going to read the other three books . I heard this book is kinda like a movie with Jim carey? not sure never watched it but I liked the idea of it .
Having read all the books in this series, this prequel gives such insight into the "why" of Jeremy's actions. An excellent book that you won't want to miss.
What a story, gives us insight as to why Jeremy did what he did. I read it at the end and it worked well. There seems to have been a lot of research done on mental health.
My heart is broken. I'm glad there are more books in this series. Perhaps my heart will ache less. Or more. This story just totally ripped my heart out.
Jeremy and Amanda are brother and sister. One day while playing outside Amanda is hit by a car and dies.
Jeremy is broken by her death that his parents decide to hire a psychiatrist to "erase" her from his memory.
I guess this is a prequel to a trilogy. This story alone has piqued my interest into the trilogy. This was a quick easy read that left me with dread and uncertainty.
Don'really know what to say. It was somewhat interesting and puzzling too. Have read all the insanity books which were really way worthy of 5 stars. Maybe this should have been in the beginning of the first Insanity story, with a fast forward thro7gh the years.
