An in depth treatment of early heresies - gnosticism, nestorianism, monoteletism, monophysitism, etc., their philosophical foundations, and the Orthodox Church response to them. The author often points out how those ancient issues foreshadowed the dogmatic and ecclesiastical errors in the west, that will finally result with the great schism. The book starts pretty much from ground zero, but some familiarity with ancient philosophy or with theology is presupposed.

A fascinating deep dive into the theology of the early church. If you ever wondered what the foundation was of your own religion as a Christian, this book will blow your mind.
