Favorite Lines “Damn, little ole me sent the big ole dragon man running home.”

I was shocked by this book! I thought of all our sexy dragon warriors that Royce (after all his advice and pushing the other men to claim there mates) would be the smart one and let fate give him his other half with a smile but....NO NO NO Royce the gentle giant turned into a big jerk! I understand why he's scared to a point but he's taking it to far! He won't let the past stay in the past!
Kyra can't believe that Royce is her chosen one. He won't even look at her. She's a spitfire! I love her! She's my new favorite heroine of this series! If anyone can knock some sense into that big lug it's her!
Andrew that traitor is still up to his games. He's crazy!!! This crazy dragon takes payback to a whole new level. I'm almost scared to see what he has planned next.
Julia Mills is becoming one of my most favorite authors. Her writing is so easily to fall in love with, her characters are the kind you can talk about with your book circle and fall in love with. She's just an amazing author!
Also this cover is spectacular!
I would tell everyone who loves some yummy paranormal romance that this is the book for you! Actually this whole series is for you!

I really wish I could leave more than 5 stars. This is Royce's story. And what a story it is....AMAZING!
Royce is the oldest of the Dragon Guard. He is the Gentle Giant. Stubborn, Proud, Loyal, and Loving.
Kyra is a White Witch with a smart mouth and is very tiny. But big things come in small packages, and she is the proof that proves that statement true.
"You do know I won't melt, right?" She yelled. "That was the Wicked Witch of the West. I'm the Short Sarcastic Witch of the South."
I absolutely love both of these characters. Who would have thought that a Little Witch, of 5 foot 2, would drop Royce to his knees.
Royce has problems believing that she is truly his mate. Why would the Universe do this to him? "How could the Universe in Her infinite wisdom pair him with a magic practitioner?" He hates witches, White witch or not. He sees that she is completely good, but his past is haunting him. Will he get his head out of his butt and claim what is his? And will Kyra be able to forgive him for all the hurt he has caused?
"Kyra, mo ghra', every second that we were apart the hole in my heart grew larger until I was sure I would cease to exist without you. Having you here, really here, is a blessing and one I will not squander."
Will the Dragon Guard, with the help of Kyra, finally catch and stop Andrew? What will happen with Royce and Kyra. Will Sydney's powers keep growing and will they find out about her past and Emma's?
I don't think I can wait for the next book. I need it now. Julia has me completely hooked on her sexy, alpha Dragon men. She always leaves me wanting more.

This is Royce and Kyra's story...
The universe created them to be true mates but it's a hard sell for Royce. When he feels the pull to mate with Kyra, He is angry and feels conflicted, How can he mate with a Witch, even a beautiful white Witch? All he can see is the past when he watched helplessly while his Mothers best friend Ilsa, also a white Witch, butchered his Mother and unborn baby sister. Ilsa was with the family for years, she helped raise Royce and his brothers but just as his sister Rhianna was about to come into the world, she was killed before she even took her first breath, they were betrayed by some one they all trusted.
Now he is faced with another white witch, no matter that she the daughter of the Grand Priestess Calysta St. Croix, Who has immense power. No matter that Kyra St. Croix is the most beautiful little thing he has ever seen at 5' 2" with Platinum hair flowing to her waist and Violet eyes. Royce is sur she will give in to the dark side at some point, some day.
Meanwhile Andrew is at it agin, he wants the Golden Dragon Gurad dead for what he believes was a betrayal. He is gathering forces with as many dark forces as he can and believes he will have his revenge this time.
But Kyra's magic is strong and she can see a little of what Andrew is planning so with the help of the wear panthers they work towards a plan of their own to counter attack to capture Andrew..
This was all I've come to expect from our Golden Dragon Guards and more! I loved seeing old friends and meeting a few new ones too! There was a lot going on through out this one but it flowed smoothly from scene to scene so I never felt like I was missing something. The characters stayed true and strong from the previous installments into this one.
This installment is every flavor of Brilliant! I am so needing the next installment, the ending is a true shocker and now I am racking my brain trying to figure out why and who would have the audacity to take Grand Priestess Calysta!
And I think Devon is in for a world of shit from Andrew! I just know that Jane Doe is his mate and Andrew wants her too! I can't imagine how crazy it's going to make him when he realizes that she IS THE ONE CREATED JUST FOR DEVON!!

I believe this is my favorite of The Dragon Guard series. Royce and Kyra are electric together, even if they were off to a really rocky start. I always thought of Royce as a gentle giant and Kyra, being petite, made for an interesting relationship. You will go through a series of emotions reading this...I love these kind of books. Please read it, you won't be sorry!!!

Normally I love this series but there was just something missing in this book. I didn't feel a connection like I did with the others in this series. Kyra may be a little dinky thing but her voice and her attitude and sauciness overruns the fact that she's tiny, "that is really what you think of me? That I could hurt a child? That I could hurt any of the people that I have come to love as much as my own blood...maybe more? You really think I'm a monster, don't you?" She's adorable with her manners, "a burger and fries sound awesome." She stopped, her eyes got wide and she stammered, "I mean is that...ummm..do you want...or do you like...oh hell! Do burgers and fries sound good to you?" When Royce gets his head out of his a** I loved how playful he could be, "she carefully pulled the ribbon, untying the perfectly crafted bow and laid the ribbon across Royce's chest. He laughed out loud and asked, "Am I gonna get unwrapped soon, too?" I'm hoping the next book in the series sits better with me.

I have to say that I am totally enamored with dragons and Julia Mills only elevated that enamored into obsession. Royce an Kyra were absolutely perfect for each other Royce being the dragon with the heart of the teddy bear even if he didn't realize it. Kyra the 5'2" white witch that I affectionately nicknamed firecracker. I was swept away page after page. For the Love of Her Dragon has a fabulous story line with a unique mix of characters. I now have a very soft spot in my heart for Royce that I didn't think I would find. This is the forth book in The Dragon Guard Series and I think maybe my favorite. I highly recommend this entire series as it is one purchase that you won't be sorry you made. So grab a glass of wine a box of tissues and get acquainted with The Dragon Guard!

Wow, just when you think that this series can't get any better, Julia Mills knocks it out the ball park again! If you've not read the other books in the series then they are a must read! The series follows a clan of Dragonshifters as, one by one, they find their soul mates. Dragonshifters are men and dragons who occupy the same space, with the dragon residing inside and called when needed. Each of the men are more stubborn than the last when it comes to admitting that they have found their soul mate. Royce is exceptionally stubborn and this is his story.
Royce's soul mate is the beautiful, feisty, independent, strong Kyra St. Croix, who is not afraid to speak her mind. Ideal for Royce except for one small problem: she is a witch; a white witch but still a witch. Royce's tragic and traumatic past have a great deal to with do his present and his reason for keeping his distance. Can he ever overcome his past?
With Andrew still at large and determined to take his revenge on his brothers and those they care about, there is still plenty of danger to overcome. Will they be able to find out his plans in time? Will they able to stop him in time?
Royce's story is an emotional journey that only he can take and complete. It is a life born from tragedy and fear of the unknown; fear that he will lose himself; fear that he is betraying his past for his future. Kyra has her own issues to deal with but she so desperately wants to be part of Royce's life and knows that she is his destiny and fully accepts that.
Their story is different from those that came before, in that both come from the magical world and both know a lot about the other's magic and powers and destiny. There is little explanation needed. Watching their story unfold and the emotions they go through, it takes you on an emotional rollercoaster.
Julia Mills has done it again and produced another installment of the highest quality. If you weren't in love with Royce at the beginning of the book, you will be by the end. Under Kyra's attention he starts to live again and flourish, once he accepts his destiny.

This is book #4 in the Dragon Guard Series and Julia Mills does not disappoint. I fell in love with Royce back in book #1. The big blue Dragon Guard with a heart of gold. Royce was always there to offer wonderful advice to others. Well in this book he has become a JERK. He knows who his life mate is and regardless of the other guards or even his brothers interference he wants nothing to do with her. Kyra is a white earth witch one of the most powerful of her kind. She fell victim to Andrew back in book #3 but in the end chose good. She has been a great aid to Rayne and the others. But does Royce see the good??? NO because he can not let go of the past. A past that was horrible yes but not done by the hands of Kyra.
Anything that could go bad does in this book. They are all yet again faced with Andrew the traitor and with Kyra’s help they join forces to yet again try to capture or kill him.
Kyra is rejected, humiliated and treated so badly by Royce .. Can she ever forgive him? Can he finally accept what the goddesses and fate decided long ago?
Well grab your copy and find out !!! and WOW we get 2 shockers at the ending.. Yes Julia will keep me reading for sure !!! Can not wait for the next book.

Royce doesn’t like witches. Not only does he not like them, he can’t stand them & he doesn’t trust them. So when he starts to realize that the Universe has chosen a witch for his mate he is confused, resistant, & angry. He avoids Kyra as much as he can & when he can’t he has as little interaction with her as possible.
Kyra, on the other hand, has known for 25 years that her true mate is a dragon. And she suspects early on that that dragon is Royce. She doesn’t understand why he wants nothing to do with her. She only practices white magic. She’s sassy but she is a good person. Why does her true mate want nothing to do with her? It’s true, Andrew fooled her into helping him but as soon as she realized what was happening she aligned herself with the Dragon Guardsmen in the fight against Andrew & the wizards trying to destroy Royce’s brethren.
The Universe is NEVER wrong! Is it wrong this time? You will have to read the book to find out. And if you have read & enjoyed the rest of the books in this series you will NOT be disappointed in this one. I think it is my favorite so far.

I have been waiting for Royce's story since he stole my heart in the first book and I am not disappointed. Julia Mills has worked her magic yet again.
Royce and Kyra have a rocky start - hey, who doesn't with Andrew still at large? However, this goes back to before Andrew and Royce has some heartbreaking past trauma to work through. Kyra is a little bundle of dynamite, sent by Fate to blow his issues apart. But she certainly has her work cut out for her.

Royce – the biggest and oldest member of the Dragon Guard has truly met his match in the form of a 5’2” white witch named Kyra St Croix.
As much as I have loved Royce in the last 3 books, in this one I wanted to kick his butt. He was bent on holding on to the past. No matter what anyone says to him, he continues to hold a grudge.
And of course, Andrew is still out there causing his own special brand of trouble.
I really loved this book. There was so much depth and emotion in it. Kyra is spunky , bright, loving. All the things Royce needs, but it takes him a while to see that, and it’s almost to late.
I think that this is one of Julia’s best books yet, and I can’t wait for the next one.
As much as I have loved Royce in the last 3 books, in this one I wanted to kick his butt. He was bent on holding on to the past. No matter what anyone says to him, he continues to hold a grudge.
And of course, Andrew is still out there causing his own special brand of trouble.

OMG....this is an absolutely great book!!! I have loved the Dragon Guard since book 1 and they just keep getting better!!
Royce is the biggest and oldest of the Dragon Guard and hates witches but when the Universe shows Kyra to to be his one true soul mate he refuses to accept it and causes them both to be miserable. Circumstances force them together as they try to stop the traitor Andrew. As Royce spends more time with Kyra he realizes that Fate does not make mistakes.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves a great story with sexy alpha dragon shifters.

AWESOME, Love love these characters, Royce is one the oldest of the dragon guard, and when he finds his mate he can't believe it is a witch, a tin feisty white witch, but with his past he can't let go of can he accept her and believe that the universe does not make mistakes?
This book had more conflict and Royce he was kind of a butt head, but finally came around and had to do alot of making up to Kyra for the way he was acting, and let go of his past to look for the future...

I love everything about this series. Each book is unique and spellbinding. This book is no different. This is the fourth in the series. Absolutely loved Royce and Kyra. This story will have you laughing and yelling at the characters. This is a must read for everyone

In her previous book “Haunted by her Dragon” we are introduced to a feisty little White Witch of the earth Kyra, (she practices white magic) and she’s one feisty little fire ball with a mouth of a sailor. We also find out she is Royce’s intended. But what we didn’t know was all the back story for these two and what a back story it is.
Royce and Kyra’s story opens with Royce MIA or actually living in a cave for the past 13 days hiding from his intended. When his brother Rian, Head Elder of the Blue Thunder Clan of Dragon Shifters comes a calling again is when you learn of the back story with Royce and why he will not allow fate to win. You see when he was young it was a close family friend who lived among their clan and helped raised he and his brothers and was also a White Witch who for some unknown reason allowed the power of dark evil magic take her over and single handedly dealt the most tragic and traumatic blow to his family. Royce has never let this go. As much as he saw the good in Kyra she was a witch and there was no way he was going to plan a life and a future with a witch and chance history repeating itself.
Kyra St. Croix was the daughter and heiress of Grand Priestess Calysta St. Croix, the leader of the oldest and most powerful coven of Earth Witches in the world. Kyra passed every test that was thrown at her when her right of succession had been questioned, completely based on her father being human. Kyra had a strained relationship with her mother at best. So on her fiftieth birthday when the dragon tattoo appeared and her mother wanted to parade her in front of every dragon clan to find her intended mate Kyra bolted. She lived on her own for 25 years when fate would have it and she met her destiny.
The first few chapters of this read had me choking up 4 different times. My heart ached for them. Royce was so stubborn and when he finally blew up with his brethren Kyra was there to hear it all. The hurt he inflicted on her was beyond belief. The look he saw in her eyes at that moment crushed his heart. But what was said was said. After some soul searching and a spiritual visit from his mother Royce set his sights to make it right. Knowing he would have to earn her trust. He knew she was his fated one and he needed to make things right.
As the reads continues you hear about a Prophecy where a powerful white witch, sworn to the earth, of regal lineage must mate with a dragon of royal descent marked by devastating loss and the heart of not one clan but two. We don’t find out what this is all supposed to mean but I noticed in the Epilogue it is brought up again. So maybe just maybe we’ll find out. Poor Kyra gets a visit from her mommy dearest. The battle continues to bring down Andrew and OMG what a battle. At least one of the main bad guys a Master Wizard is disposed of with the help of Kyra’s Aunt Della. BUT Andrew gets away.

Here are his words and I so melted; “Kyra, mo ghra’, every second that we were apart the hole in my heart grew larger, until I was sure I would cease to exist without you. I know our life together won’t be perfect, nothing worth having really is, but it will be ours and anything we have together is better than the pain of being apart. All I want is to be by your side, to be your mate, to love you every day that I draw breath and even the ones that come after. So I ask you, Kyra St. Croix, will you be my mate, now and forever……Always together?”
Judging by the Epilogue the next book should be jammed pack with action. Seems a lot will be happening with Devan. Andrew is working his way up to something and Kyra’s mother has been kidnapped, but by who is the question. I can’t wait for this read.

This is a paranormal romance with a touch of mystery. The fourth book in the Dragon Guards series. This can be read as a stand alone being it is descriptive enough but it does continue from the last book. This is another book with an amazing hunk of a dragon... did someone turn on the heat. I recommend this for adults only being there is some fire between the dragon and his woman. Kyra the woman of Royce's dreams is an half human, half witch... what an amazing combination. I really love how she has a forgiving heart but the mouth of a sailor. And I completely understand Royce's hesitancy and grief, I wanted to hug him. Such an exciting read, I need more DRAGONS please.

WOW!! For the love of her dragon is a great book. I absolutely loved it. I was hooked from the first paragraph. It captured my attention and held it to the end.
This is Royce and Kyra’s story and be forewarned that as the reader you are about to be frustrated, laughing a lot, frustrated again, and the all-out drama of this story filled with twist and turns that you want see coming. It was an amazing read that pulls you in and takes you on the journey with the characters. You are right their routing for them and wanting them to succeed, experiencing everything they do. Also, the secondary characters add a lot to this story and help bring that something to it that makes you want to learn more about them.
Kyra is a White Witch with a very sarcastic attitude, who is funny and kind too. Royce is the oldest of the Dragon Guard and He is stubborn to the point of frustration, extremely Proud, Loyal beyond belief, and when he Loves; he does it with everything he has, and suspicious of all witches to the point of conspiracy.
Royce has a problem believing that Kyra is his true mate. Why would the Universe do this to him? He hates witches, White witch or not. He sees that she is completely good, but his past haunts him too much.
Will Royce be able to get over his past and let it go so, he claim what is his? Will Kyra be able to forgive him for all the hurt he has her caused?
This was an amazing read, which you will want to read again and again. I can’t wait to see what Julia Mills creates next in this series.

What a great addition to the series. I have since the first book had a soft spot for my Dragon man Royce. Am I a lover of redheads, not exactly but Royce just nudged his way into my soul. Once again Ms. Mills relays a wonderfully exciting story in her world of Dragons. She has created an emotional rollercoaster that brings to the forefront the ability to move on from past experiences and preconceived notions. Though not completely, Ms. Mills tries to give us the stages of Royce's turmoil in letting go of prejudice and overcoming tragedy in the wake of finding the one the Universe has chosen for him. I enjoyed the pairing of the main characters, and I like the idea of a "tiny" wisp of a witch being strong and feisty, not just flaccid and vulnerable. Bringing Royce's mothers voice into the fold was also well thought out and touching, though I wish she had had a stronger more dominant force toward Royce. All in all I really like this addition to the series. I am still completely perturb that Andrew has not met the death he so deserves, this guy has gone on long enough and I think we need a new villain. I am already waiting impatiently for the next release, Devons story will surely be one to delve into with bated breath!

Kyra, a white witch, is struggling to right a wrong she unknowingly committed. Finding out she inadvertantly aided a hatefilled dragon - shifter had left her stunned and royally pissed off.
When Royce and Kyra meet, sparks fly and they each know the other is their mate - although Royce's hatred of all witches stands to keep them apart. Unable to break through Royce's shell, Kyra does the next best thing, she avoids him. After all, its hard to for a man to break your heart if you aren't around him.
This was a wonderful story that brought characters from previous books together to fight an evil force. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Royce meets his match in Kyra. These two are very strong in their emotions and must adjust to one another like any couple. Royce stuck in the past with his refusal to accept a witch as his mate. Kyra coming to terms with what Royce's feelings does to her, she builds a wall between them.
As the continuing story of Andrew trying to destroy those he feels betrayed him by not rescuing him from the sorcerers. He's the evil fiend everyone loves to hate in my book.
Ms. Julia weaves a fine tale as she continues to get better and better at her craft. You don't just get your feet wet with this story you just dive right in and become part of it as it becomes a page turner of epic proportions.
So do yourself a favor if you love dragons and strong heroines then pick up this series. You won't regret it and I believe this series is worth its weight in gold. As for Ms. Julia she leaves you wanting more and even toys with you as you learn Devon finds his mate in book five as well as finding out who has kidnapped Kyra's mother Calysta.

Thanks to Wicked Reads for a free book to read and review. I happen to like Dragon shifter books, and this one has an interesting twist. Royce's mate is a white witch, the same kind of witch that killed his mother and unborn sister. So the stereotyping begins....all witches are now bad, even if the fates chose you one to be your mate. Kyra is a short white witch that is full of life, and she friends easily. She had friended a man who wanted to turn her magic against the dragons, but luckily in the last book she got through and nothing bad happened. Now Royce uses it as a crutch against her to prove she can't be trusted. She picks up the fight with the dragons to help them win against evil, and pray her heart can withstand being so close to her soul mate, even if he denies her. This book was intriguing and overall I gave it four stars.

This series just keeps getting so amazing!!!!! In this book of Dragon Guards it's about Royce Alan O’Reilly and Kyra Renee St. Croix. Now Roce has always been a favor of my cause he is just a sweetheart always the one who does the cooking and always there to help anyone out!!! Now Kyra is my kind of witch she is a white witch and has a great heart but she is very sassy and independent!!!! Now when you find your soul mate you think everything be easy but think again never that easy. So love the ride these two go on to find each other!!!! This is a so must read!!!!!

This is Royce & Kyra’s story. Kyra is a white witch & is a very strong minded woman. Royce is one of the Dragon Guard & has an intense hatred of all witches. Unfortunately these two are destined by the Universe to be Mates for life.
The story that ensues is a fun story, with some great banter between Royce & all the other Dragon Guards, and there is some amazing chemistry between Royce & Kyra.
There is also the back story of Killing a traitor, which leads to an exciting battle.
I really enjoyed this book & look forward to the next instalment.

I absolutely love the Dragon Guard Series so when the opportunity came to review For the Love of Her Dragon I was all over it! Who doesn't want to read a sexy dragon shifter story?
I have to say I enjoyed the pull back in the sexiness. Yes there is plenty of steamy scenes, don't worry, but in comparison I think this was more tame. In it's place was angst and it was heart breaking angst at that. I loved the build up and the background story to Royce and Kyra's fate. However, I felt there was something missing. Almost like when you do a recipe and it tastes good but just missing one thing to make it perfect. I have been trying to wrap my brain as to what I feel it is and I am not sure if it's because I felt Royce deserved better *ducks from flying objects from Kyra lovers everywhere*
Although Kyra is strong and independent and I felt her rejection and pain, I just thought Royce was getting the short end of the stick at times. I think there was also a pulling back of the connection between the two that made me doubt their fate. Yes there was passion but in other books there was NO MISTAKING that the two were suppose to be. Where Royce and Kyra fought it so hard I almost thought it that they were not made for eachother.
Of course, like all the other books we get a sneak peak of what to come and I am INTRIGUED and super excited for the next one. I already have goose bumps and can't wait to read it!

~ 4 For The Love Stars ~
For the Love Of Her Dragon is book four in the Dragon Guards series by Julia Mills. I love reading about dragons and this one in the Dragon Guards series is by far my favorite so far. This book can be read as a standalone, but best read in order to get full scale of characters and plot.
For The Love Of Her Dragon was a great read. I loved the conflicting emotions our leads have. Kyra St. Croiz is introduced briefly to us in Haunted By Her Dragon and I knew from that brief interaction I would enjoy her. She is a feisty, strong and independent woman as well as she is aware of the supernatural world. Royce O’Reilly is the oldest dragon in the MacLendon Force. He is loyal to the those he calls brothers, a fierce warrior, and a gentle giant. I enjoyed the relationship developments and the sex is steamy. I liked being introduced to Royce’s family and the Blue Thunder Clan. We do get more plot development and the prophecy is mention again, but it is more about the leads dealing with their past, expectations, and emotions.

I loved this! Each of the Dragon Guard series has been great. So much detail in this world and written so that you are immersed in it immediately. It’s not necessary to read the previous books to enjoy this one, but it is so much better if you do. There are bits and pieces that you might not understand unless you’ve read them all but they are worked in to give you a rudimentary understanding. Like the treacherous Andrew!
Royce is lucky that the mating bond is so strong or he would be soooo screwed! Kyra gives him chances because she wants his love, but she’s no pushover. Royce just about destroys her love with his behavior. He would have been served right if she had turned him into a toad a time or two! But being the dragon he is, he would probably have never forgiven her. Her understanding when she finds out why he rails against their bond is heartbreaking. When Royce finally figures out how bad he’s screwed up, he mans up and does everything he can to keep Kyra in his life. Even if he uses her body’s responses against her!
A wonderful story line, great characters and vivid descriptions bring For the Love of Her Dragon to life.

Royce had a lot from his past to battle and get through to be with his mate Kyra. she is powerful full of spunk and says it like it is. she is perfect for the gentle giant for sure. now that they are together hopefully the prophecy will come to light and help them with Andrew and the auctioner. poor dev not knowing how to help his mate. that will be an interesting story. and who the heck has kyra's mom hmmm that will be interesting too for sure.
