Six-year-old Jillybean finds herself alone for the first time in months. She’s in between wars, assassins aren’t after her, and she hasn’t killed anyone, accidentally or on purpose in almost an entire week. What ever will she do with herself? If you know anything about Jillybean the answer is unsurprising: She destroys a million-dollar racing car, sets a town on fire, falls in love, and awakens the first of the hideous giant zombies that will eventually come to rule the world and drive humanity into the sewers where they will scrounge like rats, pecking out a bleak existence. In other words, a slow Monday for Jillybean.

A great story about our favorite little charmer Jillybean .You never know where a story about Jillybean is going to take you but you can bet it will not be boring and you will get a few laughs when it comes to Jilly and Ipes. You know Ipes can talk some crap when he has a mind to.
I've read all of Peter Meredith works and have yet to be disappointed. Jillybean is one of my favorite characters and so happy the timeline is being filled in because crazy or not I wondered what happened during these times. All his books are wonderful and I was unable to put them down.
...book continuation of the story of Jellybean!!! Not a lot of action but very intriguing if you've been following her post-apocalyptic life!!! Looking forward to many more of her adventures!!!
Another insightful story of Jillybean - hero or monster?
Seven year old Jillybean is caught with her pants down. Really! As a 1.6 million-dollar McLaren P1 turns Betty Lou, her magnificent purple bicycle, into a few pounds of scrap iron, Jillybean is hiding under a bridge. Nobody but Ipes saw her graceful cannonball splashing the sky, but somebody was about to see her in her alltogether. He was so good-looking that even seven year-old Jill was momentarily interested, until she remembered that he had killed Betty Lou and WORSE, had sent her backpack sack of cookies flying into the ditch! Probably broke every one of her Oreos (there's an old joke there somewhere).
So begins a great story and a memorable relationship that can only be Jillybean. Another great read by a master storyteller. Try it, you'll like it, or I'm not Mikey!
An excellent look back at the beloved "Mad Queen" in her early days in the Apocalypse, this takes you back to her time alone"wandering in the Wilderness" so to speak and a bit more insight into what made her who she was. She meets what must be the inspiration for her friend Chris and it was great to see her interacting with the "real" Chris. I have never read a Jillybean adventure that didn't make me laugh, and cry, and learn something new.
