I read this book at a time when there was massive disruptions in business and personal space due to the Covid-19 pandemic and I can say that it was very impactful to me. The book was a gem as it facilitated timely change of mindset that I found very key in managing the unfamiliar times. The writer presents the insights in a conversational tone which makes reading fun and captivating at the same time. What I really enjoyed about the book is how she relates and links the different concepts in the chapters to the principles of Think Like a Marketer. Professionals and business people will definitely find this book to be a valuable asset.

surprisingly helpful!

I used to think of marketing as a necessary evil, much like raw vegetables. Good for you, tasteless, with a side of gag reflex. Kate’s book has me reconsidering this opinion (on marketing).

She made a case for marketing that lines up with my values, makes sense, and doesn’t feel overwhelming. I loved that she told me where to invest what to skip, what to look for, and her practical tips for being more strategic about customer interaction.

If I had one suggestion, it would be to incorporate more questions to help define a brands story.

Recommended for entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, writers, business owners, or anyone who needs to craft a public presence.

I'm an indie publisher and found this book very helpful. I'm a DIY and the insights in Kate Colbert's book will really help. Self publishing is 20% book 80% marketing and I hope to put what I learned from her book to good use. I only hope I read this in time. It's 3 months to publication, so if you are an entrepreneur or an authorpreneur, read this now so you can save yourself a lot of work. I'd like to see another just about publishing. Hint hint. Great book.
