The Hard Core is the next adrenaline-fueled blockbuster entry in the John Stone action thriller series.
Allen Manning grew up in Las Vegas, raised on a steady diet of Saturday morning cartoons, video games, and tons of action movies. He also became a fan of fiction books while he was young, reading science fiction and fantasy adventure stories.
Now, he writes together with his twin brother, Brian Manning, to create fast-paced thriller books, filled with quippy dialogue and action movie inspired sequences.
Yes another Manning Brothers book read, five in a row.
Number 5 is a action packed bonanza, lots of great heroes, and some great villains.
The war is on, and John is taking the offensive.

The Hard Core is the next adrenaline-fueled blockbuster entry in the John Stone action thriller series, I have enjoyed all fine I have read and if you love all action, tense, fast paced, you will enjoy John Stone.
Hey, when you have great villains with names like Rhino, Bust, Flash you cannot go wrong
Four stars . All these books by the Manning brothers are like putting on a low budget war/thriller film and you think this is good, this is much better than expected.
I’m going to repeat myself in this review, I’ve said the same thing in my reviews of the last 4 books in the series. If you like action hero’s, this is the book and series. John Stone is a former Army Ranger and he’s a mountain of a man physically. I’m ex military and he’s the guy I want watching my back. In this one he teams up with a police detective to take down a para military outfit that is removing felons from prison and turning them into para military operators. One of these men has a conscious and decides to tell someone about this outfit after he watches his fellow operators Gun down an entire village of civilians in South America.
What the heck, when I chose the book I wasn't expecting a classic for the ages but I was hoping for a read that would be entertaining enough to keep me interested to the last page. Which this book did. I liked the main good guys and dangerous ladies and thought the bad guys were properly despicable. The pace was fast enough to avoid the pitfalls that ruin so many action novels and the pile of bodies was impressive - which was only right considering how much ammunition was expended. Good read if you are needing good guys - bad guys action.
An AM & BM. Military Operation (One Man) Action Adventure (THC) (AAPMPT) (AJSATB - 5)
AM. & BM. have penned a military operation (one man) action adventure titled, "The Hard Core" which begins when JS us called to assist a young man who had just been released from prison. JS us quick to follow-up, but the bad guys want the just released prisoner dead because he knows to much about their operations. JS is there to assist and keep the man alive. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
This book is terrific, so many wonderful characters and all led by John Stone who has become one of my favorites. Lots of action and intensity all the way to the end and the bad guys rare such strong characters also that you are definitely going to remember them. Highly recommend this book and The Manning Brothers.
The complications in this epic-sode (misspelling intended) start right off the line. The ending is equally as riddled with the question, who is still breathing???
John Stone continues to battle evil along with his trusty friends. This time he adds Detective Chase hunter and a prison felon Roland Forester, who wants to make things right.
When retired Army Ranger John Stone and his team learn of a company blackmailing prisoners in specific prisons to fight their battles, he and his team come together to put an end to it.
