Madden had one job—to kill an alpha. Instead, he fell in love.
Trapped in a pack that murdered his parents, twenty-year-old Madden craves one thing: freedom. For three years, he's been living on the streets, afraid the Dastrels will target him next. On a failed escape attempt, the Dastrels make him an offer: end the police officer patrolling their territory, and he can leave. Madden has thirty days. It should've been easy. Except he breaks into the officer's house, and... it's been a long while since Madden's felt this safe.
Freshly forty-five, and envious of his brother's pups, Officer Gabe is painfully aware of his failures. He couldn't save his dad. He isn't good enough. The last thing Gabe expects is to find a young omega in his house. But Madden isn't a burglar, and as Gabe probes into his... circumstances, he realizes Madden is in heat.
Madden begs Gabe to make him scream. Despite his misgivings, despite their age difference, Gabe relents. And Madden conceives. Gabe imprints on an omega he never meant to touch.
As their mistakes draw them ever closer, will Gabe and Madden learn to trust each other, or will their pasts run them to the ground?
Omega May is a 100,000-word standalone wolf-shifter story with May/Dec themes, knotting, MPreg, and a Happily Ever After. Shifters of Cartwell Book 3
2.75 stars Madden is a 20 year old omega who is part of a terrible pack that killed his family. It pretty much like a gang; you try to leave and they only way to leave is to die. And Madden isn’t having it anymore so he tells the Alpha he’s leaving, naturally that’s doesn’t go well, and they hunt him down. They give him an ultimatum, kill the cop that has been riding their ass or die. Of course he only has a month. Madden gets tf out of there and goes to the canyon where Gabe’s pack lives. He breaks into his house and is caught by Gabe. Gabe smells safe so Madden doesn’t kill him. Gabe is “kind” to him ( as kind as you can be to someone who broke into your house) and offers to let him stay. Madden doesn’t want to sleep alone so he spends the night in Gabe’s bedroom handcuffed to the door. But he’s in heat so obviously they fuck. They imprint and get pregnant. They realize it was a mistake and decide to be fiends but can’t deny the feeling for each other and eventually give into their attraction.
Cons *Gabe kept blaming his father death in him which made him think he was screw up shouldn’t be with Madden
*Gabe thought he was too old and thought he manipulating a minor
*Gabe didn’t think he was good enough
*Gabe didn’t stop Madden from leaving
*Madden left
* The drama with Mads old pack
*That frigid evil piece of shit they called a mother
*Humphrey ( what tf is he still doing there)
Anna Winheart always has someone want the relationship more, or have someone have insecurities, or make it so their relationship is impossible, and every time with out fail there is a separation period. All throughout this book Gabe thought he was failure because he failed to do the impossible and save his dad and stop his mom from hurting Finn. Because of this he thought he wasn’t good for Madden and that he would eventually fail him too. This is common theme in her books and it gets old, and it makes the relationship development not that fun to read about. Also she always make age gaps an issue and it just not that big of deal and it adds more drama. She also always makes it seems like scars and disabilities are ugly and that omegas are weak. Like the omega doesn’t think he pretty and then his alpha says “you’re beautiful” and they believe it. I’m all for the scars and disabilities but I’ll like to see it on alpha as too and not have it be such as huge deal in the book, or a make or break in the relationship. Also I was super pissed when Madden left, why does that have to happen every book? The character ( usually the insecure omega) decides to be some hero and thinks everyone will be better of without him there. It’s become boring, (here this word again) PREDICTABLE, and annoying!!
Pros * the pups
* the carts
* the relationship ( for the most part)
* Finn and Dante
*Epilouge
*Sex scenes
* comedic
* the world building
So yes there is a lot of pros but in this case the bad outweighs he good. I’m glad everything was resolved at the end but it could’ve been down earlier. That’s being said Madden and Gabe were cute ( and sexy 😉) together and it was fun to read but I knew what was coming and it sucked the joy out of it. It was light and fluffy and a nice weekend read. I recommend 😘
I LOVE this world that Anna Wineheart has created, it's so much fun. I want a Frisky Sid!
This is the third story in the series, but this one stands alone by itself very well. I think that I enjoyed Dante and Finn's story a bit more, but nonetheless I really enjoyed seeing what happened when Gabe got a mate with an even greater age gap than his brother's!
There is such emotion in Anna Wineheart's writing, I love how she paces things and writes about all of the characters' uncertainties and anxieties. I do think that for me, at least, there was a bit *too* much anxiety and back and forth between Gabe wanting Madden and then not, and Madden wanting the babies and relationship, and then not, and was it love or not. I know we needed some conflict, but I almost felt like they were creating a conflict when there didn't need to be one.
Still, I love this series and this author and I cannot wait to see where it goes next. If you are a fan of age-gap romances, alpha/omega 'verse, and lots of emotion and some fun shopping carts (it makes sense when you read it) then I definitely recommend this series!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I denfinitely liked Gabe & Madden’s book much better than I like Finn & Dante’s. I felt that Gabe had lied to both his pack and himself for so long that he didn’t want a mate that he latched onto the first excuse for not being with Madden that he could and then refused to give up on that decision well past the time he should have given in.
I honestly have pretty little patience for the characters in this series martyring themselves for putting the Topenga pack in danger. In both books, the threat to the pack continued even after the sacrifice was made, because evil had already targeted them.
I’m also not super thrilled with the basic premise of mating in this world. If there’s going to be a supernatural bonding of souls, then it seems to cheapen the whole experience that the bond can be so easily broken by anyone with it intent. If it is the bite and blood that links them, then what if some random wolf bites another in a fight and swallows some blood - why wouldn’t that bond the two? And I’m not sure that I buy that Jules can take so much damage and survive, but Pig is so simply killed - it just didn’t seem consistent.
I am so over the whole “I’m to old”. “He’s to young”. Drives me batshit crazy, especially when it lasts for just about the entire book. And the whole “I’m not worthy and will just let you down cause I couldn’t save my dad from downing but I was able to save the child. Don’t see the good you did Gabe, let’s stay hung up on what you couldn’t control or change. So of course he projects this onto his omega who is so damaged. Mads saw his parents killed by the pack he is a part of and when he try’s to escape, they tell him that he has to kill Gabe to prove himself. What Mads doesn’t is that is his mate. But he is all hung up with, he isn’t going to want me because of all my baggage. And you wonder why Mads left, without you even trying to stop him? Gabe you were an Idiot, and it almost cost you everything. I’m glad everything worked out and we have the acceptance into the pack, claiming in front of the pack and birth of the pups. I think it is so cool that the pregnant omega gets lines on them, there is no way to hide it. Blue for non-pack and pink for pack. There was some danger and very scary times, but our MCs made it
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have been looking forward to Gabe’s story since I read The Forbidden Alpha. Gabe’s past actions come back to haunt him a bit in this story and he has to admit that he was wrong before. Madden just wants somewhere to feel safe and that’s what he feels when he first gets Gabe’s scent let alone is in his home.
Their first time together is all about hormones, Madden is in heat and Gabe’s wolf is right at the surface too. I felt that most of this book was Gabe and Madden going about their daily lives and Madden’s fear of the Dastrels isn’t really a factor in much of it.
I enjoyed this story though Gabe is in denial for much of it that he really wants to keep Madden around he treats him well except for being wishy washy. I didn’t really feel that Madden ever actually planned to murder Gabe he just wanted to get away but what he found with Gabe was much more than he ever imagined. It felt like the fear of the Dastrels was kinds like the boogey man, it would come up quickly and be dismissed until there was the final confrontation that didn’t feel as significant as it should be other than bringing them back together. I enjoy this world that Anna has made and look forward to more stories within it.
An omega accidentally bonds with the alpha he's sent to kill by his abusive pack. I liked the setup and characters a lot, but this was just too long (450ish pages) and repetitive. I'm fine with characters taking a while to resolve their resistance to being together, but there needs to be some development of their feelings or the relationship in some direction, not just endlessly repeating the same arguments to themselves about why they can't possibly be together. Luckily there was also some action in this book to break up the rumination. Despite my issues with it, this book was enjoyable enough that I'd recommend it to anyone who likes the accidental bonding trope, which can be hard to find.
Loved the beginning with the weird biting metal and mind reading and I liked both MCs. Unsurprisingly for a romance novel, it very quickly descended into a standard romance, at which point I gave up.
In the newest installment of the series, we get to meet Gabe, who was introduced in the last book as one of omega Finn's litter-mates, and a respected member of the Topanga pack. Gabe has pretty much made up his mind that finding an omega and making a family is out of the question, so he dedicates his life to protecting other people as a police officer, being a good alpha for the pack, and spoiling his brother's babies. Gabe is very likable, he has a strong moral ethic and an inherent need to love and protect due to his nature as an alpha, but he also has a deeply rooted insecurity and pain stemming from the trauma of his father's death, that keeps him from finding romantic happiness. Both of these traits come to the fore when he meets Madden, a starving, terrified, lonely omega, who needs all the love and protection an alpha can provide. Everything in his nature tells Gabe that Madden needs him, but his insecurity based on their admittedly large age difference and his secret pain keep him from embracing what could be a dream come true for the alpha. Poor Madden, on the other hand, is on the run from some seriously scary shifters, the Dastrels, who ordered Madden to find and kill Gabe, who has been wreaking havoc on their criminal activities, or they will kill Madden in a horrifying way. I was disgusted by the Dastrels, they were terrifying. Neither Gabe or Madden count on the inevitability of fate, and they can't fight their natures as alpha and omega, and the overpowering need to mate during Madden's heat, resulting in a accidental mating and pregnancy. Gabe's wholesome personality and strong morals are present throughout the story, he always wants to support Madden and doesn't try to force or guilt trip the young man into any unwanted choices, which I really appreciated. Madden is very young, but has experienced great trauma and in many ways, he's more mature than Gabe, because of his experiences, he knows that happiness should be embraced if possible, and that Gabe is no pervert, and is a good person. Gabe's attitude grated at times, but it was understandable that he didn't want to be perceived as a dirty old man with a barely-past-his-teens mate. There are too many of those in the real world, so his moral struggle was natural and appreciated. Madden was not without faults, either. His secret mission kept him from truly being honest with the man he loves, and put them and their pups in danger. The love story is sweet, Gabe's protective side is very attractive and Madden is lovable, I wanted to hug him and love him, and make him feel safe. It is joyful to see Madden open up and feel confident when he feels safe and loved. There is plenty of erotic moments and lots of sexual tension, too. This is one of my favorite worlds, it is so whimsical with the enchanted shopping carts and biting keyholes and magical people. I can't wait for the next installment.
The third book in the Shifter of Cartwell series from Anna Wineheart and another enjoyable read. I've really liked this series so far, each with a slightly different trope and characters but still connected. This book sees Gabe, Finn from book 2's brother, discover an omega who has broken into his home. However, the omega himself is broken and Gabe can't help but want to take care of him and be needed by someone. Madden ran away from his pack but the evil alpha's chased him and gave him an ultimatum. Kill Officer Gabe or be killed. Wanting to be away from them and to save himself he makes his way to Gabe's but upon meeting and getting to know the man, it's the safest he's ever felt and he may be developing teeny tiny feelings for him..... Without meaning to a bond is formed and Madden becomes pregnant. Orders to kill, a twenty+ year age gap and vastly different circumstance, will the two manage to come out together on the other side? Yet again, Anna has written a story with strong characters and a good plot. You heart breaks for Madden and everything he has been through with his pack. He wants out, that much is clear but it soon becomes about more than just him. Gabe just wants someone to love no matter how much he denies it to others. I enjoy the interaction between the two, the inner struggles they both have regarding each other. Gabe is very focused on the age gap and is something he has trouble overcoming. I love the connection that an Alpha and Omega have, innately knowing feelings of the other though not too sure I'd enjoy the other knowing my thoughts. Something I love about a series is the continuation of a setting and arc, including past characters that we get to see again and catch up with. We see Dante and Finn, along with their 5 pups. It was really good reading Gabe and Madden's interactions with the little ones and how different they both are as well with Gabe having experience around children and Madden not. I definitely recommend this book, especially if you've read the previous two books. It's not necessary to have read them but I think it would enhance you enjoyment as you'd fully understand the connections between all of the characters. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review
***I received this book in exchange for an honest review***
Very sweet, funny, and easy read!!! It was hard to put down once I started reading it. The book has a bit of something for everyone: steamy romance, thriller, danger, doubt, and whimsey. The interesting world that Ms. Wineheart creates brings little touches of silliness to the story that will make smile. You will find these little touches of silliness in some of the weirdest places doing the craziest things. It’s a good counterpoint to the many weighty subjects facing Madden and Gabe as they strive to sort out their lives and relationship. I’m definitely have to read the other books in this series!!!
Madden longs for freedom from the terror and abuses he’s had to live through during his young life. Gabe is on the opposite spectrum with his life of law and order but also his past shadowed with failures. The large age difference with Gabe being 45 years old to Madden’s relatively young age of 20 is a major stumbling block for Gabe. Madden wants love but also wants to experience the world while Gabe has a settled way of living and he feels with his past failures that he doesn’t deserve love. After one hot and steamy night Madden and Gabe are faced with a number of very important decisions.
Will their relationship be able to survive the many obstacles that litter their path? Can they learn to accept each other as they are warts and all? What decision will Madden make for himself and his future? Can Gabe forgive himself for his past failures and move with Madden? These are but a few of the issues each man is going to have struggle through alone and together. Get your copy and I know that you won’t be disappointed.
****** Spoiler Alert ****** I really enjoyed this book alot. But if you are are reading this one it is definitely different from 2. It has alot of things readers may or may not want to read. There is thievery. There is cutting but not of oneself. Cutting on others to mold them into your way of thinking like in a gang. Gangs also kidnap. They murder people to get the objective they want. They have others do their bidding like going to Murder someone or steal from someone all while threatening their life. They start taking minors very young ones like 6 to use them in the sex trafficking industry.
This is why when many people met Madden, especially if they worked with Gabe, they thought he was too young. Until the end when it is because of him and an undercover agent that they even found the children. Gabe and Madden although very different in age are perfect for each other and Gabe hasn't seen love ever so this is great. Madden also helps Gabe get over all the crushing guilt, the kind that sent him away and he plays into it by believing it. A really, really good story. Lots of erotica. (Maybe not quite as much as Dante and Finn.) Just alot of problems in the story but it makes it an amazing story with a super great storyline!
╰⊰⊹ 🌟⊹⊱╮Age ain't nothing bout a number... ╰⊰⊹ 🌟⊹⊱╮
This one took me by surprise as I had no idea it was coming. After reading book one, I was hesitant to grab another story, because, which way could the author carry the story? Well, she once again made age difference the factor and carried it well. With Gabe being about twenty five years older than his omega Madden, he was forced to accept his slap in the face by fate. When he had gone all he man over his brother taking on a younger alpha, now he had to face facts that his situation was no better.
For Madden, bad things seemed to follow him and now he was bonded to the one man he was sent to kill. With push and pull, first over age and then over an accidental pregnancy, Madden had his hands full with the secrets he carried. Trying to convince Gabe to take a chance on him was going to take more than seduction. It may just cost Madden his life.
There were many times in this book when I wanted to hit someone upside the head for being stubborn, but I guess it added to the story. Now I really have to wait for the final brother, Ken's book. I cannot wait to see what direction Ms. Wineheart will take. And what is HIS secrets?
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
Omega in heat, alpha in rut, angst, desire, guilt, older man with younger man…Whoa! This book made me sad to tears, scared for the characters, irritated with their insecurities but happy in the end. Madden (20yo) has been with the Dastrels for many years, ever since they killed his parents to get their fangs in him. Being an omega, he’s cornered by several alphas and in order to get out of this mess, he promises to kill someone named Gabe in the Topanga pack. Madden, now out of their clutches, is trying to plan his next move. Run away or kill this guy??? Gabe (45yo) is a policeman and has been after the Dastrels for a while now. After a long day at work he comes home to find someone has broken in, cooked something in his kitchen and taken a shower. That person is even wearing his shorts, which are way too big for him. Standing there: Madden. Oh. My. Word. What happens next is OTT sexy if you like M/M romance. This book has some of the longest, most powerful love scenes I’ve ever read, but it also had many poignant moments. There is guilt, desire, suspicions, love and hate. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book. If you enjoy paranormal M/M romance with a May/December element, get this book.
Loved, loved, loved this story of Madden and Gabe. Madden's life before Gabe was full of misery and hardship. Being used by his old pack to earn them money and then his orders to kill Gabe as his only way to leave the pack make him choose a different life, or at least try to. When Gabe finds Madden in his home cooking artichokes he cuffs him and tries to ignore the lust he feels for the younger man. He is 25 years his senior, too old, or so he thinks, but his wolf is very interested in Madden. When Madden becomes pregnant, he has a choice to make, keep the pups or terminate them. Gabe is willing to let him make the decision, but he is starting to want them, but not willing to let Madden know that he wants them. Gabe can't seem to get his feelings straight, he fights them with everything he has. Until the bond is broken with Madden, he has to save him, so that he finally comes to terms that he wants him more then life itself. The fact that we get to catch up with Finn and Dante is a bonus.
First of all, I'd like to say, that I truly love the world that this story is built on. The first book of this series had me laughing out loud so often due to, "Bum-wheel Bob, and many other aspects of the story line. In this book I still enjoyed reading about the sentient shopping carts, and Frisky Sid who Madden kept as a pet (so cute). Gabe and Madden were both likable characters, and I did appreciate that both of them were wolves.
What had become tiresome to me was Gabe's mantra throughout the whole book of, "but I'm too old for you.", or "stop thinking about sex." It was slightly repetitive (I mean, for me), and even though good things may come to those who wait, I really didn't like having to wait so long. I just wanted them to be together already without the angst that pops up unnecessarily later. However, the plot was well done, and Jugs was the perfect villain. I do love this author's writing, and I hope to read many more books by her. =)
I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book. Honored.
This is a great story and the world-building is excellent. I have enjoyed all of the books in this series and I am so happy that it's Gabe's turn. Madden and Gabe have a lot to deal with but the biggest obstacle for Gabe is their age difference. He can't seem to get past it and with all of the other problems they have their relationship may not survive. The threat from Madden's previous pack is very real and he will do anything to protect Gabe from them. They have a lot to lose if they can't find a solution for all of their problems and there are some intriguing twists and turns in the story as they try to find their way to a HEA. There is some angst, a lot of suspense and many emotional moments as well in this entertaining book. The secondary characters are wonderful and it's great to see how well Finn and Dante are doing. I love Frisky Sid and I think the shopping carts are my favorite part of this world. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
Ok, I will admit that I am getting old... ok, yes, I AM OLD... but what in the heck does this title have to do with the story? Did I miss something? Is this so simple my mind can't compute it? Seriously, I have NO clue and would love for some kind person to explain it to me! TIA!!! *grin* (Wait, a thought! Omega May-Alpha December? Nah, can't be that simple, could it?) *headdesk* LOL!!!
As for the story... I think it is hilarious that Gabe is 25 years older than Madden! Talk about karma coming back and biting you in the ass! *snort* LOL!!! Although the "I'm too old" "You're too young" got old really fast! And, how many times can you rip a wolf's throat out before he actually dies... that Jugs must have had 9 lives or something!
Even though this story irritated me from time to time, the good far outweighed the annoying, so I consider this a good read! Not to mention, I would love to read Ken's story... perhaps someday? *sigh*
Another great book in this series. Although sometimes I wanted to slap both characters upside the head. I have to admit to skipping a few parts when they got into the whole- I'm too old, you're too young- or -I want you but I'm not sure if I want to stick around- parts that kept popping up a bunch of times. Ken, Gabe's brother I wanted to beat with his bs of blaming Gabe for an event in the past that was no one's fault, knowing that even all these years later Gabe still felt horrible. The doula, she needed a beat down also, after the things that happened in the last book you'd think she would have learned her lesson. Nope. Just argh so frustrated with the doc, hopefully she has learned. We shall see. I loved Frisky Sid a shopping cart that adopted Mads and Gabe. It was also nice to see Dante and Finn with all their little ones!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review This story is about Alpha Gabe and the much younger Omega Madden. Madden was forced to join an evil pack after the death of his parents when he was a teen, and when the pack leader sends him to kill Gabe, a cop who keeps getting in the way, he sees it as his chance to finally escape. Only he didn’t count on being mated to Gabe and becoming pregnant. Both Gabe and Madden have plenty of trust and self esteem issues relating to their pasts and loss of their respective parents but they eventually learn to work through them. There is a fair amount of angst on the way to their HEA (including mentions of child abuse) but plenty of hot sex and knotting too. Including an incredibly sexy scene with a pool table
I find it difficult to give a five star review to books these days because most run along a similar tired pattern of repetition. This one doesn't though. It is a May/December trope but somehow internally Gabe is the less mature of the two; Madden has never had a picture window life or a well balanced one for that matter. I rode the emotional rollercoaster with Madden and felt every claw, every shake of fear when facing Gabe's denial or is original pack's threats. Madden takes it all in, feels like he deserves it somehow. Even when Gabe claims him Madden looks for the day the bond will be severed. Without any doubts, this journey won't come without setbacks, hot sex, artichokes, and so much more. Grab this one now to read their journey for yourself.
Anna Wineheart is becoming a favorite author for me. I pick up one of her books, and I can't put it down until I reach the end. This book was no exception. I loved Madden and Gabe, and their story kept me stressed out until their final resolution. The evil members of Madden's former pack were detestable, and I felt so bad for poor sweet Madden and the others who were there against their will. (I'm still worried about some of those!) Gabe was so focused on the age gap between him and Madden, I was worried he would let this great opportunity for happiness get away. Stress! The writing was wonderful, the characters very well written, and the story flowed smoothly. I recommend this story, and I look forward to more from this author.
Madden just wanted to be safe and away from the Dastrels, so he did everything he could to do that, even if that means that he has to kill a cop named Gabe. But then, he gets to Gabe's house, and it turns out that Gabe is exactly what Madden wants. Except, Gabe isn't quite sure what he should be doing in this situation.
I think that Gabe really needed to get out of his own way much sooner than he did. He was hurting himself with that, but he also made Madden really unsure and made it hard for him to feel safe and make decisions that could help him.
I read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Anna Wineheart writes the best Alpha and Omega stories. I have fallen in love with this series. I enjoyed Finn and Dante but I have to admit I really liked Madden and Gabe more. You cannot help but fall for Madden with all his sad baggage from his loss of parents to his fear of knives. I identified with Gabe being older and knowing he shouldn't fall for someone so much younger but the heart doesn't recognize age. I had to read this twice.
Delightfully complex, incredible world-building and terrific characters. This had all the feels for me. My heart hurt, i laughed and i cheered as this romance became a true love story! Madden and Gabe are amazing!
Hope, dreams and reaching for forever can be possible. Can love give you courage to reach for your forever? Could the person you need be the person that isn't what you thought you needed? Can hope change a lifetime of perceived failure?
This is an awesome story that will touch your heart and delight your imagination!
Gabe and Madden met in the most unusually hilarious of circumstances that could have had deadly consequences. A series of accidents led Gabe and Madden on a very adventurous love neither had ever known before. Madden was never able to look at Gabe's handcuffs the same way again after that first night. I really enjoyed the game of pool Madden and Gabe played at Ray's house. It was really sweet the way Gabe tried to help Madden overcome his debilitating fear and gain some independence. Ken totally needs a story too.
'I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.'
A great story that kept me hooked all the way through. Madden and Gabe are wonderful characters with great chemistry and a strong connection. They each have issues to work through, Gabe needs to get over their age difference and Madden isn't really looking to be tied down in a relationship and with kids. Not to mention the threat of Madden's former pack hanging over their heads. Quite a bit going on in this story but it flows smoothly and works out perfectly. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I totally enjoyed Omega May, it’s a great addition to Shifters of Cartwell. I love the magic metal, especially the carts. I liked the romance between Madden and Gabe, that super May/December romance was hot and both of them have great back stories. I like how this universe works and how characters from previous story are included. I thought it was fast-paced, sexy and sweet. I would definitely recommend this story.
I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.
I really recommend reading The Forbidden Alpha before reading this story, there is a great deal of background that applies to this book.
I like Gabe and Madden, but I felt like there was a lot of angst in the story that had Madden really talked it out with Finn and Dante. I feel like with all that they had gone though to get their own HEA they could have offered a good bit of advice to the struggling, young omega. I will also say that some of the kink was certainly not to my taste, but those scenes were short enough to move through quickly.
I did rather enjoy seeing Madden and Gabe when they were really making a connection, even with all of their troubles and uncertainties there is a sweetness to their love. I also love the living shopping cart, the living metal adds such an unusual twist to the world-building.
I love Anna Wineheart books. Read almost all of them. This one though, was hard for me to finish. The back and forth between the MC’s was a bit much - we’re together, we shouldn’t be together. Back and forth and back and forth. The both had past trauma issues that impacted their self worth and confidence. I get that. But 400 plus pages was maybe more than necessary. The rest of the story, with sexy times and action was great. 👍
I'm not sure why this book fell a little flat for me when compared to the other books in the series. I love all of the themes and characters, but I felt like it took them much longer to get together. Idk either way the action in this was epic and intense. They were a cute couple and I look forward to their growing family. I really want a book about ken.
